Please, Restrain Yourself

“This is the best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten.” Hearing that, Amelia glared at Anna with much discontent. She pouted and never said a word again. Nicole and Chloe had disappointment written all over their faces. They did not expect Anna to bring such a priceless gift for Grandmother Dawson, clearing her name with ease. Nicole and Chloe exchanged glances. They knew that the situation was not as simple as it seemed. How could a person they drugged have the energy to drive all the way to a church on a secluded mountain to see an abbot!

Blackwater Val

Blackwater Val

At a quarter past two Tom Truitt’s pickup truck pulled in, and Katie and Richard climbed out. The three of them walked through the open gateway and on down a sloping hill, past the blue-lettered Blessing Acres ~ since 1915 sign to a cluster of outbuildings. Seated back was a lime-colored farmhouse and its round barn, where a heavyset man of late middle age, with an affable face tucked under his Purdue Boilermakers cap, lingered and greeted the scant patrons, introducing himself as Zeke Blessing, owner and proprietor of the whole shooting match.

 Saving Grace

Saving Grace

Thankfully we had a kitchen on the ground floor and the window wasn't high as well. Though it was difficult to jump in a dress and heels but still made it. I ran towards the back door and saw a shadow of two people, they were somehow trying to hide. I knew who it was. Another shocker, ladies and gentleman. The girl was dressed as a bride. That meant my brother fled away with someone else's bride. He was a complete moron and in dire need to pshchologist. "Is this her ?"

Saving Grace

Saving Grace

She walked to the kitchen to do as she had said, and then she came back with two plates of a slice of pie each, and then she went back to get the cup of juice, carrying that in a tray while Tammy followed behind her to the back porch. It's only been two days since Grace had been here, but she hadn't gone to the back porch before, so she didn't know there was a pool in the backyard. How rich was this man, having a house like this to himself, two cars, and a Hailey Davidson bike in a small town on a doctor’s salary?

A Blessing in Disguise

A Blessing in Disguise

I slipped out of the shed, careful to keep to avoid drawing attention. A bakery sat at the end of the street, its windows throwing warm, yellow light onto the cobblestones. The mouth-watering aroma of fresh bread and pastries wafted towards me, tempting me and reminding me of my luxurious family meals. I crept towards the bakery, still trying to avoid being the centre of attention. I knew my disguise might work, but I couldn’t afford to take any chances. The sound of jingling bells marked the arrival of a plump, middle-aged man who approached the bakery’s entrance. He stopped, dramatically sniffing the air appreciatively, as if wafting the aroma into his face, before pushing open the big do

Secrets In Disguise

Secrets In Disguise

Maria said to herself and went to her dorm again. ... City B: The room had the late Army Generals' pictures and their country's flags at every corner of the room and also on the big wooden table which was placed ahead of a big glass window. The table was neat with only a few things like a prestigious telephone, an inkpot, a pen, a lamp, and a small mat beneath the flag stand. There was one more thing, a nameplate and ‘General Liam Walker’ was boldly engraved on it.

REALM OF THE MYSTICS

REALM OF THE MYSTICS

He raised his hand and the weapon flew back into his grasp and he ran after them. Not having any other choice, the kids got in the stranger's car and he drove away fast enough to avoid being caught by the assassin. "Are you guys okay?" The stranger asked. "Yeah, thanks for helping us," Joe said, out of breath. "Who are you and who was that person that was chasing us?" Lydia asked from behind. "My name's Micah Jameson and that person that was chasing you was a Ginx," Michael said. "A what?" Kurt asked. "A Ginx. A magical warrior from Troleyadia, sent here to find the twin seeds of Eyah and by the looks of it, kill them," Micah said.

The Curse of Amelia Lockwood

The Curse of Amelia Lockwood

Now I wasn't so big on Religion but I did believe in God,Heaven and Hell so hearing this from them made me pretty scared. "Amelia we curse you and everything that you will ever lay your hands on. You will not find favor in any of your other lives, your generation is cursed forever!" Both my mom and Amelia shouted the last part and when they opened their mouths, dozens of flies flew out and they came right to me.The zombies decomposed to insects of different kind: cockroaches, spiders, ant and some that I didn't even know existed. I still was not able to move or do anything at all. All I felt was the pain that came from these insects biting and crawling all over my body.

SWEET AND MINE

SWEET AND MINE

I couldn't make out her inaudible words in my ears. And the following day I woke up, she was gone. What happened that night served as an example of how dangerous women's ploys could be, using beauty to lure men into their hands only to be stripped naked of what men could offer. But then I was the one asking for it. Wasn't it the idea that she would give me what I wanted so that she could get what I could offer? "You can't blame your brother, Addison. When you left, he decided he no longer had a sister. He became the breadwinner." A woman's weak voice ripped me off from my thoughts.

Frequently Asked Questions

I stumbled upon a fascinating niche recently—Amish romance with a twist of mystery! One book that hooked me was 'Her Secret Amish Past' by Dana R. Lynn. It blends the quiet, faith-driven Amish life with suspense, making it hard to put down. The protagonist, an Amish woman with a forgotten past, unravels secrets that threaten her newfound peace. The contrast between the simplicity of Amish culture and the tension of a mystery is brilliantly done. Another pick is 'Silent Night Suspect' by Sharee Stover, where an Amish setting becomes the backdrop for a gripping whodunit. The way these stories weave faith, love, and suspense feels fresh and addictive.
