The Perfect Lie

The Perfect Lie

I looked at the box and saw more toys that needed to be wrapped. “Every year, on a Christmas day, we give gifts to our favorite charity near the island, and I wrap the gifts personally.” She beamed. “I have a thing for wrapping gifts,” She whispered, making me laugh. “How can I help?” If I would be marrying Blake, then this should be part of my practice, too. Samantha’s eyes sparkled. “Thank you, Tara. Those guys just enjoy the giving,” She sneered. “Didn’t they know that the exciting part was unwrapping the gift?”

I love Tara... i feel her... I don't like Sadie... sadie does not deserve Blake...she is an unfaithful woman..selfish woman.. please don't take away Bree from Tara... please take Bree and her mother...
K.O.K.A.K
Blake is such a selfish bastard that you want to hate yet you want him to succeed to redeem himself for love…. Tara is a naive lass who you wish could be a little bit more cunning but that’s her charm. Needs editing but the plot and development of characters are great.

The Young Woman Wrapped as a New Year Gift

The Young Woman Wrapped as a New Year Gift

"Maxine, you weren't having fun with your toys while I was out, were you?" Thinking about what had just happened with Mr. Larsen, I felt a rush of panic and guilt. Paige could never find out about that. I quickly pretended to be upset and said, "What are you talking about? I had a few drinks with my colleagues tonight since it's Christmas Eve. I told you that, didn't I?" Seeing my reaction, Paige stuck out her tongue playfully. "Alright, alright. I'll stop. I know how shy you are. Oh, by the way, I have to go out again in a bit. Could you give this Christmas gift to my dad for me?"

The Silver Dragon

The Silver Dragon

“Now head up to the library. Daniela and I have presents to wrap so you can’t be down here.” “Okay I’m going,” he laughs. Daniela and I head to the sitting room and turn on my Christmas playlist. Richard returns with all the gifts we purchased and we begin wrapping. Daniela hands Richard a list of needed items and he sends a female warrior to go gather them. We laugh, knowing none of the men want to have that duty and have Mark go psycho on them when he returns. “I wish I could have some eggnog. One of my favorite things about this time of year,” says Daniela.

A Christmas Melody

A Christmas Melody

Tiny white pieces of plastic simulated falling snow and encircled the jolly soul as he wiggled in a swirling winter wonderland. “That’s pretty cool!” Reid replied, forcing as much fake enthusiasm into his voice as possible. While he attempted to enjoy the holidays for Michael’s sake and though he usually did a pretty good job of pretending, Christmas just wasn’t the same as it used to be. He would manage to get through the holidays, like he always did, but he was certainly one of those people who couldn’t wait to flip the calendar to January.

Winter's Idolatry

Winter's Idolatry

- Christmas Day "I uh..." Dallas diverted his eyes around the room in attempts to avoid eye contact with me. He rubbed the back of his neck. I could tell he felt just as uncomfortable as I did. That only confused me as to why he came here. "I haven't heard from you in a while so I wanted to check in." He finally mustered out. "I also uh... I got you this." He held out a small, wrapped box. "What is it?" My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. It was a stupid question considering it was obvious that it was a gift. I slowly reached out my hand and took the box.

A Risky Christmas

A Risky Christmas

One soft click. The picture came out tasteful but teasing, enough to make him grin. She smiled, selected Darren’s name, hit send. Then tossed her phone onto the bed and poured herself a glass of cheap red wine. Next week, she'd have her bags packed, ready to head to Maysville, the small town she'd grown up in for Christmas. Her holiday plan was just perfect! Her playlist hummed to life; jazzy, lazy Christmas tunes filling the air. For the first time all day, her shoulders relaxed. She even started humming along, thinking about what tomorrow morning would look like. Morning pancakes, bad movies, Darren’s laugh…

His Christmas Mate

His Christmas Mate

I learned to be thankful and quiet. That acceptance made me hate Christmas. Love songs made my skin crawl. The lights under our tree looked like glass eyes. The ribbons on the presents were traps. Every year, the house tuned itself to cheer and I pretended to enjoy it. The twenty-fifth became the night when a new kind of cold touched my bones. It was the day the truth had crawled out at me like an animal. It was the day I had learned how much of my life had been decided by other hands.

Second Chance Christmas

Second Chance Christmas

Julia I slipped out of bed in the early hours of the morning of Christmas, rummaging through my closet in search of the wrapped presents I'd stashed there weeks back for the twins' birthday. Knowing how nosy and keen the little devils could be, I hid them just in case they decided to go through my things, which they did more often than not. I still wasn't sure what it was they were always going looking for yet. I carried a few boxes in hand, tiptoeing down across the hallway and biting down on my lips so hard I almost broke skin.

The Christmas He Lost Her

The Christmas He Lost Her

Wynne's POV When I woke up in the hospital, Christmas was already over. A whole day gone. Bernard sat beside my bed, eyes swollen like he hadn't slept. My throat felt raw. "Bernard... I'm sorry. I made you run all over the place for me. I even wrecked your Christmas." He brushed a hand through my hair. His eyes reddened again. "Silly girl. I found you." He shook his head. "That makes this the best Christmas I've ever had."

Christmas With My Boyfriend… and His Roommate

Christmas With My Boyfriend… and His Roommate

Before I could figure out what was going on, a tall and slender woman approached Dylan and me. She locked arms with Dylan and shot me an irritated look, asking, "Who's this?" Dylan answered before I could even say a word, speaking in a tone that made it seem like we had coincidentally run into each other. "She's Blake's girlfriend. She came to look for him." The woman immediately dropped her guard and curiously gave me a once-over. She smiled sweetly and introduced herself as Trixie Ashford. She was Dylan's girlfriend, and she had returned to the country specifically to celebrate Christmas with him.
