I glance three stools down and see Rick, a regular who likes to really knock ‘em back, glaring at me with bloodshot eyes. Sighing, I grab him a Budweiser from the fridge and set it down on the counter in front of him with a clink. “Here you go. Back from outer space,” I say, forcing a half-smile. Rick grumbles something under his breath as I turn away. And that’s when it happens.

That's where Rafael's madness started. Moltara Motorworks became part of my life. Wire told me the truth behind the front—it was dirty business with weapons. Mr. Marcus killed people. Rafael killed people all the time. Wire did too. His first kill—he ran to me, lost, crying, calling himself a monster, begging me not to be scared. I comforted him. “It's just a maid,” I told him. “Forget it. Her life is worthless—like losing a spoon. Forget it, baby.”

Markus, a large and rough-haired wolf, known as the Alpha, took a step ahead. He barely made it through the fight last night. He had a bandage on his shoulder and a new scar across his forehead. "You have returned," he stated, his voice rough but with a hint of relief.

A muscle in his jaw twitched, his gaze narrowing at the man outside, "Fuck off, Sal. You couldn't win a race if your life depended on it." Sal laughed, his grin widening into a sneer. "Careful, Costello. Wouldn't want your little girlfriend here to see you cry like a bitch when I smoke your sorry ass on the track." I bristled at the insult, feeling a surge of anger rising within me. Marco's eyes darkened, a dangerous edge to his voice as he laughed, "The only thing getting smoked tonight is your piece of shit car."

“Yours. Mason, I’m yours.” He slammed into me, again and again, punishing, possessive. His fingers bit into my hips. His mouth at my neck, then my shoulder—biting, marking, branding. He was fucking me at this point. He flipped me over and kissed me like he hated me—like I was the reason for every sleepless night, every twisted dream. And maybe I was. Maybe we both were. The sickness in each other’s veins. “I’ll ruin you,” he whispered. “No one else will ever touch you again.”

I need her to know this. “Is there a word you can think of?” I ask. “No…” “If you don’t have a word in mind, you can use my name.” “Viktor?” I shake my head. No. “My middle name, Markov. Do you think you can remember that?” She nods again. What a good girl. Flash nods in agreeance. “You will use this name only when you’ve reached your limit or if you need a break. Everything can stop with just this word.”

Alpha Markus speaks up after listening to Nikolas bullshit for a while. Markus is well respected in the werewolf world, he was left abandoned as a child forcing him to build everything he has from dirt. The strength and kindness of his pack earned him a gold badge in most peoples eyes despite the few haters, I'm glad Chloe is mated with him and not someone like Nikola. "SHE will be the one to kill us! SHE will be downfall to us all! If we take her out now we ca-" crunch. "WOULD ANYONE ELSE LIKE TO SPEAK UP!" I roar dropping his mushed up brain and skull onto the floor. His body slid down the wall before hitting the floor.

I said, relaxing my back against the chair. "He should be used as the last scapegoat to teach others some lessons." Ralph seethed through his clenched teeth, his hands tightened around the pictures in his grips with the color of his eyes turning dark. "No," I answered, tapping Ralph's hands to calm his nerves. "We should know who the mastermind was." Ralph let out a silly smile and stared intently at me. "Do you also need someone to tell you? Who else will dare to pull this big hit if ain't your brother, Marcus?"

Mark finally broke it. "Wolfe," he said, pushing himself up from the chair, his voice carrying the weight of command. "What’s your plan?" He walked toward me, slow, deliberate. "Viper’s your man. You can’t double-cross the cartel. We stick to the plan." I looked up at him, anger snapping through me before I could stop it. "And that plan cost Maria her life," I shot back. Mark’s eyes hardened. "Hector’s bluffing, can’t you see?" His hand came down on the table, the crack of wood under his palm slicing through the room.

But alas, he couldn’t just not do any of his responsibilities as Alpha of the pack. Everyone who needed rest, he told them to take a break. Those who can still move around began the clean-up. They first dealt with their comrades, giving aid to those who are badly injured and in need of medical attention. Priorities. Marco brought Walter’s body deeper into the woods and began digging. They would set him on fire and witness his ruin before burying him. It has to be done. Otherwise, they can’t be sure if he planned some hocus-pocus or if his minions would.
