Queen of Wolves
Silence followed—thick, deliberate, terrifying.
I scrambled backward, breath coming in sharp gasps as shadows emerged between the trees.

Their muscles coiling beneath their skin, teeth bared.
My back hit a tree, nowhere left to go. I pressed myself against the bark, shaking so hard my teeth rattled. My legs refused to move.
One of them stepped forward, massive and scarred, his eyes burning with recognition.
