Third Wheel
I sigh deeply then awkwardly attempt to slide and scoot my whale-sized body down to follow her requests.
Jackson moves to my left side, taking my hand in his. He kisses my forehead, keeping eyes on the doctor and her assessment. His left wrist is wrapped.
“Is it broken?” I ask the last word ending in a grimace.
“Sorry,” Dr. Magnussen says. “Just checking for dilation.”
Jackson squeezes my hand while attempting to smile supportively to me. “Just a sprain,” he says.
