“I will go to the toilet.” She stood up and left Cassius without looking back. Now alone, Cassius looked at the words at the wall again. Then, his hands grope on his pockets. Cassius always brings something to use for his drawing. And what he found in his pocket is a mechanical pencil. He stared at the words written on wall which was made with a permanent ink. ‘The words I will write can be erased someday. But, even it won’t be that long, at least, I wanted to write my real feelings for you.’

Wrote a line in the blank space. Her handwriting was still ugly. The lingering damage from the chilblains. The index finger joint bent slightly. Too much pressure when she gripped the pen. But she wrote very slowly. Every stroke carved into the paper. *The thirty-seventh application. Approved. Elias Crane. Personal Physician to the Mother of All Wolves. Tenure for life.* She handed him the report. Elias looked down at that line of text. Looked for a long time.

She returned to her shift with a renewed resolve, ready to navigate the long day ahead. Back at her apartment that evening, Elena sank into her favorite chair with a notebook in her lap. She wrote freely, letting her thoughts spill onto the pages, words full of hope, fear, and longing. “I hope you know how much I already love you,” she scribbled. You wouldn't want to... come over and check it over real quick?"

I took it from his grasp, the weight of the solid metal feeling heavier than any sword. With a hand that shook so badly the metal tip rattled faintly against the heavy paper, I leaned over the desk. The gold nib scratched harshly against the thick parchment as I formed the letters of my name, each stroke feeling like a nail being driven into a coffin lid. E-l-e-n-a V-a-n-c-e. When the final letter was drawn, a heavy, suffocating silence descended over the room, pressing down on my chest until my lungs burned for air. The ink gleamed wet and dark under the sunlight, matching his own aggressive signature just millimeters below.

She wrote something on it and passed it to her. Elena muttered a thanks to her as she left and walked back to her friends. "What did she say?' Laura asked out of curiosity "Have you forgotten she doesn't talk. She just wrote something and gave me. And it's encrypted in Latin" Elena complianed. Alex snapped a picture of it as he sent a message to Peter attaching the photo of the writing. "What are you doing?" Laura asked him. Something entirely different, with the quality of writing done by someone who did not write often and was choosing each word with the attention given to objects that would have to be carried a long way. The first page introduced itself. I passed my almost twenty-five pages essay to him. He just looked on it and count the papers. He then smiled at me. Of course I did calligraphy on it that's why it took that much.

I picked up my notebook. Opened it to a clean page. And I started writing. ~~~
