Watching Julia, before she knew I existed. Watching my family fracture around a grief that never had anywhere good to go. Watching Ava become someone I didn't recognize and couldn't stop becoming. Watching, always, from a careful distance that I had convinced myself was protection and had eventually understood was simply fear wearing a more acceptable name.

Man, I sure do miss them. Long nights tend to remind me of our first home, where I grew up. Where I had my first shift as a werewolf, where I first hunted for blood, other than that it was the most normal feeling I ever had, I was only sixteen back then. The years after were difficult, we had to change home from time to time. City after city, state after state.

It never does. I start writing in a notebook, small thoughts, fragments that come when I least expect them. Sentences like He smiled when he thought no one was watching, or The world looks softer when you don’t have to save it. I don’t know who they’re about, but the words pour out like confessions to a forgotten god.

Not an official Council document with formal headers and coalition seals, but something written in the first person that sounded like what it actually was, one person trying to reach another before a situation became irreparable. I wrote six drafts. The first was too formal. The second overcorrected into something that read as pleading. The third was good but too long, losing the directness that the situation required. The fourth and fifth were variations on the third. The sixth, which I wrote at eleven at night while Lyanna slept and the house was quiet, finally had the quality I was looking for.

She wrote about holding a man’s hand while machines beeped and doctors avoided eye contact.

Caroline just needed to find a hobby. In the past two days, she no longer felt aimless. Instead, she found a direction in her life. She wanted to try writing a book. Although she thought it was a ridiculous idea, she wanted to give it a shot anyway. Caroline thought that she wouldn't be able to write anything since it was her first time. But unexpectedly, her mind overflowed with ideas after she turned on the laptop. Just like that, she wrote ten thousand words in just half a day. When Caroline saw what she had written, she felt a sense of familiarity once more. It was as if she had seen them somewhere. However, this was the first time she had written this.

It wasn't “me” In a fit of frustration, I pushed the books aside, opened a new document, and started to write. Not as a student, but as a woman. I wrote about the first time I realized my own body was a currency, a thing to be commented on, to be judged. I wrote about the thrill of a first kiss, the hollow ache of a first heartbreak, the simmering resentment of being told to be "good" and "nice." I wove my own experiences into the fabric of her prologue, my modern voice a dissonant, jarring harmony against her medieval one.

I had to give myself a reminder or otherwise I could have spent the whole night here and people would start searching for me with the help of cops. Here we go. The first sentence was same as it is as I blamed the writer for describing his love with using curse word as the very first word of the entire diary. Nevermind. I moved ahead clearing my throat as if I was going to start a speech with a hall crowded with people. Yes I read about literature a lot. Yes I try to find everything romantic but that romanticism is always confined to the nature because I never like humans. I don’t either.

Except for the book, which he carried out to take a proper look at it. Joe jumped on the bed and placed the book before him to rest on the bed. He opened the first page gently. Draven(and his wolves) are the first matured characters I've ever written in a first pov(I mostly do young adults, and also write in third person pov. So I'm trying not to mess him and his inner thoughts up. And not make him cringe worthy. So yes, I'm taking my dear time with each words—making me unbearably slower than ever.(You can also notice my writing style has changed in this vol— different from the first chapter of this book—Arielle's story) So please, bear with me.
