Vanessa sat perched on Gabriel's lap, her arms wrapped around his neck, kissing him deeply. The ultrasound images slipped from Elena's frozen fingers, fluttering to the floor.

Selena being extraordinary has never been a strange news to Gabriel. But her being the mythic DAOB species he had heard about doing his bedtime story with his mother was shocking to him. Although his mom did not give him much detail about their kind except that they were a mixture of Alpha, Omega, and Beta, Gabriel still found it amusing that they were real.

As I teleported her into my penthouse, Xanthea’s gasps became clearer. “Ezra… what did I do… I don’t… I need to go to him.” Xanthea said. “Don’t worry, wife…” I whispered in her ear. “I want you to feel this guilt because it’s going to get worse.” She looked at me, confused. “You have owned your mother’s dreams, now it’s time for you to own her guilt too…” I kissed her forehead. Tears streamed down her face, her eyes searching for answers in mine.

“What babe?” “For the first time in my life I have someone that I know for sure will show up when he says he will and that loves me and makes certain I know I am loved. I began to ask but was cut off by Gabby’s soft response. “Blair,” she whispered, the name rolling off her tongue with a heaviness that made my heart race. “Remember I told you Xavier had a mate who left him for someone else? That woman was Blair. She was Aeros’ Luna before she passed,” Gabby explained, her gaze distant as if recalling old memories. My mind went blank, and a jolt of electricity ran through me, leaving me stunned and disoriented. “Did you just say Blair?” I asked, my thoughts flashing back to memories of her in his private room, memories I’d tried to push aside.

“She was his affair child. Was I supposed to let them live comfortably? I only started paying attention to them after Xena made a name for herself as a pianist.” Resentment flashed in her eyes. “Exactly,” Fiona said. “Xena never told us that the only thing tying her to Felix was that old blood-donor arrangement. And she still thought she’d end up as Mrs. Gibson. As if.” Xena’s career was falling apart, and now her reputation was going with it. Fiona opened the comments and typed, “I heard her mother is a gambling addict who spends all day at the casino.” Someone replied beneath it, “Does anyone know what her real relationship with Felix Gibson was? Were they ever actually together?”

Lyra whooped heavily with my mother too but i just sat there staring at them in confusion. I knew how the world works. Enough to know that it cost my father something. And to confirm my thoughts, the father cleared his throat, “In return for that…i will have to give one of my daughters to become the alpha’s uhm…mistress.” My heart fell immediately when his gaze shifted to me. No, no no he cannot do this. “The Silver Fang pack has offered more than half a billion dollars for you Xenia, and we accepted the offer. As from now you are their Alpha’s mistress.”

And Marrylen—Marrylen was kneeling between her legs, her hands on Xenia's thighs, her mouth working over her in a way that left nothing to the imagination. For a moment, I couldn't breathe. My heart dropped, a hollow ache expanding in my chest. I wanted to turn away, to leave, but I couldn't move. My eyes were locked on Xenia, and then, as if sensing my presence, she looked up, her gaze meeting mine. A slow, wicked smile spread across her lips, and there was a glint of mischief in her eyes that made my chest tighten. "Oh, Kaleb," she said, her voice a low purr, her fingers tangling in Marrylen's hair. "Look who decided to show up."
