I smiled at what she said, swallowing the wine in the glass that had been her last translation there before the bottle shattered. "You know, I’m sick of those promises." I heard many sorts and tones of promises, pleasing, sobbing, and genuinely stating them, but it ended up violating those dumb pledges. " I sobbed as I remembered what Edward had promised me. I wasn’t promising perfection. I was promising not to abandon myself while something good was happening.
