Then the next whisper was casual, boring a command in it. “Close your eyes and connect with me. I’m just one step away from you.” There was a strong persuasion this time, which compelled me to comply with her order, my eyes closed on their own. Taking deep breaths, I prepared myself for another show as the immortal part of my soul was clearly a distraction. “You must be a wolf-like creature as others say, my buddy. Please come to me as I have no idea about this fuck!”

He saw Kit talking to Liora, looking perfectly normal. But when Kit turned toward him, for a fleeting second, Kit’s eyes flashed silver.

A strange scent filled the air—cold, ancient, not of wolf or human. Then the whisper came—clear, soft, chilling. “The Moon’s Flame... the world will burn or bow for you...” Crystal stumbled back.
