For a bunch of drunk crazies, they didn’t sound half bad. Then a slow song began to play. “May I have this dance, my fair lady?” A.J. asked as he offered his hand. “You may kind sir,” she said properly. They both smiled as they walked onto the dance floor. There were a lot of other couples on it as well. And like them, they got close, holding the one they adored in their arms. Caitlin recognized the song. It was Once in a Lifetime sung by Michael Bolton. While growing up, Caitlin’s mother played his songs every chance she got. Her mother loved his singing to this day.

I nursed my water as I watched this unfold unable to comprehend what was going on but was riveted by it as well. I found myself wishing Reed was here so I could ask him what was going on. I sighed feeling slightly heartbroken at how much I had missed him. "Mia." The sound of my name made me jump. I had been so busy trying to decipher this scene in front of me I had not realized I'd become the center of attention. Again. "Yes, Master Jordan?" I responded immediately.

Maybe this encounter was just passing by. Anna's heart skipped half a beat as soon as she saw the money and the note under the bedside lamp. "Try to live because this life is worth it." A few simple words made Anna's eyes turn red, she clutched her chest, pouring out all the pent-up emotions with tears streaming down her face. She cried out in pain, tears pouring down, feeling that life had been so unfair to her, too many pains accumulated, and a precious stranger had come to comfort her, saving her wounded soul. She tightly held the money in her hand, crying out in despair.

It ends up happening anyway; he catches me by my arms, and steadies me, an alarmed expression on his face. "What's wrong? What happened to you?" he asks, smoothing my hair from my face. His touch feels cold against my scalded skin, and I reach for his other hand, placing it on the other side of my face. And then I remember who he is. "Death, death, come to take me away. Why not instead you let me stay? Would you like to have one last dance? Come on Death, just give me a chance." I sing, swaying to the words, placing Death's hands on my shoulders.

Aaron raised his voice at Amanda whose hand left his as she bow her head. “I don’t love this life, I love the life you deny me of, the life I hustle and stay happy, the life I could go anywhere I want to and wish to. Yes you are right, this life, I don’t want it….. Immediately Aaron hold her hands but she dragged herself out of his grip.

I smiled and let him sway me around to the music in his mind, my curiosity got the best of me as I really want to know the song that was playing in his mind since he saw me, “I wish there is music.” The whole field lighted up and I could see a music band, I can’t believe this, before I could finish awing on that, a tune started playing, it was jazz but a song I know all too well. It was Michael Jackson’s Lady in my life, one of my most favorite of his songs. I looked up at Adrian and he repeated, “can I have this dance?” “Did you plan all these?” I couldn’t help but ask. “If I say yes, then will I have this dance?” I nodded and he smiled, “then yes, a special dance for a special someone.”
