surreal. [Is this your new number? Can I send you a photo?] “S-Sure..” In less than a minute, her phone vibrated and she looked to see what the image was. A soft gasp came from her mouth as she clasped a hand over it. It was a whole bookshelf dedicated to her book. She knew because her book’s banner was above it, and what’s more shocking than to have your debut novel’s own shelf is that the shelf is empty. They were sold out.

I plan to give him the other novel which I bought months ago titled The Billionaire's Unwanted Bride. After doing that, I will also look for a way to return his novel and get a new one. I might even be able to summon up the courage to ask him about the books in his office and demand permission to go in for more books. I am too engrossed in my thoughts to realize that someone just walked past me until she walks back and stands in front of me. The action and the familiar voice pull me out of my reverie and I snap my head quickly to face her.

I had been thinking about how to win her back from the moment she slammed her door in my face but had no clue how until now. ~2 Weeks Later~ It was hard to wait but my publisher had gotten me an early copy of my new novel. I smiled to myself as I flipped through it and then added it to the box of my other books. I put the lid on top and then wrapped it up in the paper messily. It wasn't perfect but it was at least presentable. I wrote out a tag before taping it down and then let out a breath. I had been planning this for the past few weeks and had only grown more nervous with time. It was now Christmas Eve and I intended on trying to make things right with Alice.

Usually I wouldn't have bothered, but right now eavesdropping felt like the only exciting adventure I could find in this exceptionally boring down. So without further ado, I shifted closer to the opposite isle and began listening in. "OMG! OMG! It's the newest edition!" "I didn't know they'd have it already! Aren't the Miller's always the first to get the newest edition?" "Yeah! But who cares? Their loss, our gain. Let's buy this before anyone else. That way, we can tell everyone at school tomorrow. Oh! They're going to be so jealous!" "That's tots fabulous! Isn't Ms. OG just amazing?"

I realized this might be the perfect opportunity to even piss her off again. “Jace got me a novel I have wanted all my life. You know my friends in high school desperately wanted his novel, and even though they were very rich, they still weren't able to get it, but he got it for me at the least expected time. That's why I'm so happy.” I knew my story was going to piss her off and even make her forget that she has to pretend to be nice to me now.

I’ll probably keep on freelancing for both Take 2 Interactive and Rockstar games, or I could try getting in at Googleplex or Applepark. I put the discarded novel on top of my suitcase. I don’t know why I even bother to read it. It’s not well written, the grammar sucks — a bunch of crap, really. And the couple on the cover is so cliché. The whole stereotypical romantic pose makes my skin crawl with frustration. I sigh deeply. I’m so uptight my neck is pulling into a spasm. “You know he’s going to be here tonight?” Of course, I know. That’s the whole darn problem.
