“My life. . .I wish life had a reset button so I would reset mine.” -Lucan Trinigad. HEART TO HEART. I sheathed my gleaming, razor-sharp sword, falling to the floor as I panted loudly. My hands, cudgeled and swollen, bore testament to the iron grip with which I had clutched the hilt of my sword. The pungent aroma of sweat, mingled with the delicate scent of lavender, ambushed my senses as Azure Sophia, my best friend, laid breathlessly on top of me, her laughter echoing through the hall.

I asked, a hint of doubt in my voice. His eyes glistened with a warmth and generosity that never stopped to astound me as he turned to face me. He answered and held out the sword to me, saying, "This, Anna, is for you." I took the weapon, my fingertips gliding over the shiny grip. The blade had an air of force about it and was well crafted. I was so taken aback and touched by his gesture that I was short of words. "For me?" I said again, my tone just above a whisper.

The girl shouted, picking up a sword and showing it to me. Immediately my eyes landed on the sword. I froze in shock and all I was about to say vanished. How did the sword get here? I thought. I had only used the sword when I was going on a killing spree. I wanted to deny it but there was blood on the blade of the sword. Though I wasn't sure if the blood on the bald was DeLorna 's blood I couldn't defend myself at this point. First, the sword belonged to me. Second what in hell was it doing here? Had it grown a mind of its own and left where I kept it and killed DeLorna?

“Try it.” I hesitated, then slowly reached for the sword. The moment my fingers wrapped around the hilt, warmth flooded through my veins. The weapon began to glow as if it recognized me too, the rust and dust instantly vanished from it, revealing a shiny golden blade.” Everyone seemed to hold their breath as they witnessed what had just happened. Vanessa whistled. “Well, that’s new.” I exhaled shakily. “This sword is still alive.” Aria said. “It was waiting for you,” Rowan said. “Which means it must have belonged to you in the past.”

Wei said acting so cool about it as he look at Vlash, Flora, and Lana then to Leo. I watch as Wei look at Leo then give off a heavy sigh before he look at me then smile. I just give off a sigh of relief and look at one of Wei’s man coming towards me. “Who owns this mysterious looking sword?” he asks holding my ice like sword in his hands as he shows it to us. I heard Wei gasps so I look at him, he looks oddly shocked but then his usual jolly smile returns to his face. “Ah-Ahmnn, THAT is mine.” I said and the man looks at me with a wide smile.

“Then let’s keep preparing here. If he attacks, we’ll be ready. You don’t have to go searching for him.” I shook my head and turned to face her. “And if I wait too long? If I wait and something bad happens?” She looked at me for a long time before answering. “You don’t have to do this alone.” I let out a short breath. “I’m not doing it alone. I have people. I have you. But I can’t just sit here anymore.” I walked past her and picked up the sword, feeling the weight of it in my hands. It was familiar. It had been with me through many fights. I buckled it at my side, adjusting the strap slowly.

I accepted the dagger with a nod of approval, tucking it away securely. "In addition," Maxwell continued, presenting me with a silver sword, "I've had this crafted for you. Silver, lethal to vampires and wolves, but harmless to you, Your Highness. It may prove invaluable within the enemy's stronghold." I inspected the blade, a smirk tugging at the corners of my lips. "A thoughtful gesture," I acknowledged, feeling the weight of power in my grasp. "It will serve its purpose well." With a swift motion, I tested the sword's balance, nodding in satisfaction. "Let us proceed," I declared, my tone firm and commanding. "The battle has just begun".

“I have to stay here for a while and pretend I’m recuperating, Mom.” She squeezed Zeph’s hand. “Of course, darling.” “Don’t worry, Mrs. Hayes. She won’t combust,” Theia said. Everyone chuckled, including my dad. “Are you gonna tell us what’s the sword all about? Why no one can touch it?” “Like an Excalibur, it’s wielded for me—” “And her mate. It hurts or burns anyone who touches it. It’s a present to him to fight alongside when the time comes,” explained Theia, making me laugh. “Kidding. She’s just possessive of it. It’s given to her by her master.”

I said seriously, he furrow his brows. "Your mom didn't give you?" He asked. "She's the keeper of the sword of light" he spills. If that's true, it mean she had already gave it to me before I knew it. I speed up to my room, barging in, it was right on the bed, I slowly walked up to it. I was hesitant for some seconds before grabbing it, the swords shines, the light blocking my sight, Oscar was here in a minute, he watches it till it was no longer in my hand, I look at my hand as it disappears. Where did it go.
