You Messed With The Wrong Lady My Mate Novels & Stories

“You’re making a mistake, Adrien.” “No,” I replied coldly. “I made the mistake years ago when I failed to protect my actual mate.” The older woman’s eyes darkened immediately at the word mate. Hatred. Pure hatred, I saw it clearly now. Not just toward me, but toward Celeste and suddenly, something about the way both women looked at each other unsettled me deeply. The kind that usually came before retaliation. Alabaz growled low inside me instantly. “Danger coming.” He growled.

Ronald, my best friend, grabbed my arm and turned me to face him. “What?” I roared in anger. “What's wrong with you? What happened? What did she do to offend you?” Meanwhile, Stephen, my future Gamma, glared at others around us, and everyone started to do what they were doing in fear, moving their focus away from us. “She is my mate,” I muttered. “What!” All of my friends were shocked to hear me. “My mistake. Ex-mate.” I scoffed while adding ‘Ex’. Their eyes grew wider. Ronald frowned at me. “Did you just mean that you rejected your own mate?”

"How stupid is that? As you can see I was rejected today by someone who I believe is my true mate. How on earth can I have multiple mates? Does that even make sense to you?" "I understand. It can be quite confusing, isn't it?" The old lady grinned, resting her back on her chair. "Three men will come running after you. Your life is like a puzzle and those mates are the pieces to complete the puzzle. You'll need them to fulfill a mission." The old witch revealed further, leaving me with confusion. "You know what, I think you're sick in the head. Yes, both you and that silly Moon goddess. I'm done listening to you." I retorted as I stood on both feet, getting ready to leave the bar.

If Mattel was stronger, he would have probably strangled the guy. “You touched my mate” Mattel growled, eyes thinned to pinpricks. The man scratched his scalp awkwardly, “Well, I kind of didn’t know she was your mate, then. I’m really sorry man”. “You fucker” Mattel snarled, “Do you always go around touching other people’s mates? You had to have smelled an alpha on her, had to have smelled me on her. You knew”

She said one word, loud and clear, ' Mate,' " Mate," he said in a deep sexy voice. My world was spinning. How was this possible? I was rogue; rogues didn't have mates. But there he was, looking at me with so much love and sadness. I soon realized his sadness was in the condition he found me, being harassed and almost ' killed,'

“Remember when you kicked me years ago? You said I wasn't good to have a mate? Well, I'm here to prove you wrong, I found my mate and I just got married to her. But you who have been bragging of the same girl for the past five years, you two are still single. If exactly the two of you are mates, then you two should have been married by now. But here you are, claiming her as your fiancée. Isn't that embarrassing? What do you think people will say about you? An Alpha with a side-chick, who the fuck are you fooling? If she is your mate, then you should have done everything to mark her as yours, but since you two are, you will keep fooling yourselves to be the love of your lives.”

‘I may not be able to recall how it happened last night, but I won't make the same mistake again. Cathy is angry and growls at me in my mind. ‘Our mate is the best gift from the Moon Goddess. How can this be a mistake?!’ I remind her that we already have Aden. Cathy shouts at me, ‘You don't love Aden!’ I ignore her, carefully trying to extricate myself from my mate’s embrace without waking him. The man furrows his dark grey brows, holding me tighter and through the mate bond, I sense his unease.

Mortified that even now, after the mistake I had made, after the soreness of my body, a part of me desired him again. I quickly moved back, fighting the inexplicable attraction. “It doesn’t matter what the reason is,” I said, my voice firmer now. “I just… I shouldn’t have done this. I have a mate.” He didn’t look surprised, only unimpressed. He turned, his broad shoulders still visible and reached for something inside his jacket. He then took my hand, the feel of his calloused palm brushing mine, sent shivers down my spine as he placed a card in my palm.

I continued staring into his eyes while he glared hatefully at me. “You're Cassandra right? Cassy the weak bitch who doesn't even have a wolf. You're too feeble to be my mate, whore! Sadly, the Moon Goddess made a mistake, a mistake which we'll rectify now” He said coldly, his voice void of sympathy or love or excitement or joy that he finally met with me, his mate. I couldn't comprehend what he's talking about. Rectify it? What the fuck is he talking about? “What mistake? The Moon Goddess doesn't make…ugh!” I wailed in excessive pain. It was painful, so painful so I bit down on my lower lip as though it would numb the pain for me.

“Mates are overrated anyway.” “Luke’s not your mate, right?” I recalled what Jasmine had told me. “He is now.” She thrust her chest out and crossed her arms smugly, giving a slight eye roll. “He’s my chosen mate.” “Who’s your real mate then?” I asked. “Who knows. I’ll never find out now.” She waved her hand dismissively. “But I don’t care. Like I said, mates are overrated. It’s way better this way.” “Hmm,” I said, considering what she was telling me. The bartender put another couple of drinks in front of us, and we picked them up to begin drinking again.
