I watched in horror as my parents shared a passionate embrace, before their voices filled my head, telling me how much they love me and how proud of me they are. I couldn’t even think to respond before I heard my parents plead with the wolves surrounding them. They didn’t even slow down; the wolves tore into my parents, tearing their throats to shreds before sniffing around for a bit. Giving up, they turned around and ran back toward the pack house, and when I was certain they were gone, I gingerly made my way down the tree.
