Red Moon seemed like an odd name and didn’t really tell me anything about what it could be. Danny was watching me with interest. “Just call me when you can come over.” The sound of a mobile went off, and I realised it was his. He pulled it out and checked the caller ID. His face darkened a little. “Shit sorry Sophia, I need to take this. Call me soon, okay?” Not waiting for me to answer, he brought the phone to his ear. Standing up, he strode off with a confident swagger. My eyes fell back to the business card. My first commission. Not bad considering I was only 18 really. I took out my scarily empty purse, and placed it carefully inside the credit card sleeve.

Not now. This was a nightmare, right? I just needed to wake up. Wake up, Evelyn. Wake up. Danny wasn’t that kind of man. He was the boy who used to steal ice cream for me when we were kids. The man who held me when my mother died, who whispered promises of forever into my hair when I cried myself to sleep. He wasn’t the type to betray me like this. Right? But the sounds were still in my head. The breathy gasps. The moans. The sound of my entire world breaking.

The images in the back of his mind matched perfectly with one of the pictures. Eric smiled as Danny swiped the pictures and in one of them, an eleven-year-old boy was holding him from behind. “Who is this?” Eric asked. “He is one of your angry uncles,” Danny smiled. “Uncle Daniel,” He swiped to the next pictures and unfamiliar faces appeared on the screen, which Eric had never seen before.

“Hey, Cali.” I turned in my seat, eyeing the young man who had sidled up to my side. “Hey, YB.” I gave him a smile. “You doing ok?” His eyebrows shot up as he chuckled. “Hey, that was going to be my line.” “Sorry.” I gave a small shrug. YB was young. Younger than me by several years and from what Truth had told me, been hanging around the club since he was fourteen. Desperate to patch in. Which he had done only a year ago. The youngest patched member they had. Hence the name Young Blood.

I bit my lip hard enough to taste blood. The door creaked, and Phantom strolled in with his trademark calm, though tonight he wasn’t wearing his pristine white suit. Instead, black clung to his frame, sharp as a blade. His smile was venomous. “Well, well,” Phantom drawled, circling Damon like a predator. “How the mighty have fallen. You’re not looking so sharp, Damon.” Damon lifted his head, spitting blood onto the floor. “Go to hell.” Phantom chuckled. “Oh, we’re already there.” His voice dropped, sharp with menace. “Where’s the flash drive?”

I gulped He snatched up his shorts and pulled them on as I glanced down at the message he read it was from Charlie again. Charlie: Sasha answer me we have a huge problem here. They marked each other and they're under age. Sasha: On route "Open the ghost road Sasha. I am about to become an only child." Danny added. "Danny....." I began but he cut me off "And maybe a mateless widow." he snarled as I stepped back his anger radiating from him.

Danny still looks appropriately terrified and pale. “Do you want to chicken out Danny? Admit that you were defeated by a girl with hardly any archery skill?” I taunt. “Never!” he quickly replies. But I can see the panic in his eyes Just like me he is only 17 years old. But I’ve already died once giving me the advantage of knowing that death itself is not the problem. It’s the road leading to that final moment that can be harrowing. There’s only a lucky few that get to pass away peacefully in their sleep.

“I’m Danny, who are you?” The memory of his parents’ death flew back to him. “My family,” he choked, “They’re gone.” “They weren’t wolves,” a female whispered. “Look at his blue eyes!” “But he’s one of us,” a male quickly countered. “You saw him.” “Smell him.” The boy named Danny held up his hand. “We’ve heard of this happening.” To Darrell, he asked again, “Who are you? What’s your name?” He felt the cold earth under his palms as he supported himself, sitting up. “Darrell Grey.”

She looked through the corner of the rooftop and glanced at the antique watch she was wearing. It was now past one o'clock in the middle of the night, and yet, the two of them were still talking about her first love. "I am serious with this song, it was upbeat but it was emotional too at the same time, nanny. I like to be part of the painful squad from now on who conceals everything by being happy all the time," Danny joked again as her nanny stopped on the corner and placed her elbows again on the railings. He smiled as he got up and decided to pick up the bottles of soju underneath the table and placed them inside the case.
