You need to be more attentive." Kane had been always nagging lately. Once he started, he could go on for a long time. It made people get tired of him. Keith did not want to listen to Kane's nagging anymore. "Dr. Watson, Mr. Zane has finished his IV drip. You should go check on him." Kane corrected him, "Xander Zane is dead. He goes by Nathan Hart now. That's his only identity. Stop calling him Mr. Zane. Don't anger him again."

What the fuck was going on here. I kept seeing Zane look over at Tristan as well, but Tristan still wouldn’t look at him. I wish Tristan would stop ignoring me. Zane was still silent, but his eyes filled with tears, his hands gripping the edge of his blanket. “But you don’t care, do you?” Xavier continued, his voice cold and merciless, his heart pounding in his chest. “You have no idea what you’ve done to me. To Calla. You’ve taken everything, and you don’t even see it.” Zane, trembling, spoke through a cracked voice, “It was a prank, Dad... We didn’t mean for her to fall…” Xavier’s face was unforgiving. “Well, guess what? You’ve taken it too far this time.”

They explained, "She's Xavier's ex-wife." Tracy was rather surprised that an outstanding man like Xavier had a deaf ex-wife. She couldn't help but feel bad for him. And I...I let him go.” Raven offered silence. She reached and gently touched his arm. He flinched, though he didn’t pull away. They sat, the past laid bare between them. “Why tell me this now?” she asked softly, horror burning in her chest. “Because I can’t protect you if I don’t trust you with the truth.” His jaw tightened. “Zane’s obsession isn’t about power, it’s about revenge. He knows I blamed him.”

“Some of it needs to get censored by a pediatrician and a vet.” Next to me, Zane leaned one hand on a suitcase, the other tucked in his pocket. White shirt, black pants, dark coat, a watch at his wrist. Black hair that fell messy in a way that felt unfair, a neat shadow of a beard. He looked like a CEO who’d just divorced his wife and planned to run off to Bali… with the ease of a man used to watching cats board jets. “Let him enjoy his freedom,” a deep voice rumbled from behind Ash.

She comments as she bites on her lower lip. “ Yeah, plus I love food.” I eat like there is no tomorrow. “ So where is Santino’s brother?” “ Oh Maximo, he is on a business trip. He will be back after three days I think.” She answers sounding unsure. I still don’t know who she is in this household.

“Tracy, how can you talk to Faye like that?” A man’s voice rang from the doorway. A tall, solid figure stepped in, his aura unmistakably alpha, though tempered with civility. It was Trevor, my so-called father, his presence commanding even without raising a hand.
