His eyes were a flat, unfeeling violet—the color of a system-error. Beside him, Jax and Cole moved with a mechanical, horrifying synchronization. His expression shifted from surprise to confusion — and then to something colder.

In the shadows, Jaxon’s men were already in position, rifles trained on windows and doors. The warehouse loomed ahead like a corpse, all broken teeth and empty sockets where windows should have been. The door swung open before they reached it. Zane stood inside, smiling like a man who’d never been burned. He wore no mask, no armor. Just his arrogance. “Brother,” Zane said warmly, as if this were a family reunion. His gaze slid to Raven. “And the pretty little sin. You really do bring her everywhere, don’t you?” “Where’s the boy?” Jaxon asked, voice even.
