Life in the Darkness

Life in the Darkness

I smiled because Sheena was still lucky not to have seen the real world yet, because I knew she'd be disappointed if she discovered it wasn't as colorful as the ones she read about in books. Sheena's and my world is not a fairytale; we live in a world where people are not treated equally. I sneezed and told the story of how we had been abused by Carlos from then until now. I also noticed that my recounting was almost changing their reaction. All of the events I told them about I also showed Sir Harry all of the mansion's dark corners. What's the point if I don't tell everyone? After all, I was confident they could help us.

In The Dark

In The Dark

“You asked me about my little entourage, well they’re my team. I trust them all with my life, they’ve all been with me a long time. They’re all in on it, we don’t have secrets about the business stuff. I don’t have regular friends, I have them, and we all hang out. It’s a weird dynamic but we all like it and it suits us. There are very few people I trust. How we met … just laid things bare. I didn’t know you and you didn’t know me, it was just two people, in the dark finding each other. It didn’t have to go as perfectly as it did, I don’t know what I thought would happen but … you happened. In that room there was just two people in the dark lost in each other.” I was now a sobbing mess and I

Another good story by this author! I do wish there was a little more at the end because it did feel a little rushed. But other than that, I truly enjoyed reading this story. I highly recommend both stories by this author! They’re very detailed, flow perfectly, and keep you wanting more. Awesome job!

The Weight of Thirty Years

The Weight of Thirty Years

"And your leg... the doctor said you'll never be able to walk again. Who did this to you?" Their gratitude toward me had become genuine love and respect. They cried because they were afraid of losing me. I moved my lips and forced a smile. "It's okay. As long as you're living a better life now... As long as you've seen the world beyond these mountains, I'm happy." Over the past thirty years, I did everything I could, especially during those first difficult years. Back then, I had worked through unbearable pain to help build the town from the ground up. That was why my leg never truly healed.

HIS DARKEST SHADE (BOOK-THREE)

HIS DARKEST SHADE (BOOK-THREE)

HIS DARKEST SHADE BOOK-THREE ~Prologue~ “Even if you end up hating me for it.” His tone was vicious. “I might scare you,” he continued, his gaze roaming over her trembling form, “but they are far worse—formidable, vicious… and willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want.” He gestured toward her. “Including you.” “Never.” She shook her head, her voice trembling but firm. “I’m not scared of your words. You’re just trying to scare me so I’ll listen to you!”

Darkness

Darkness

I could feel the magic inside me fizzle and snap. I pulled the book with the resurrection spell on my lap. I looked through it again. It needed one thousand souls and a major node. The only major node near here was in Utah, so... it looked like that would be where she would eventually end up, maybe after she got one thousand souls. I had just prevented a bunch of those souls, so perhaps the darkness still needed to power up. I whipped out my new phone. It was so fancy it even had internet. It was something I heard of, but with flip phones being ten years behind the times, I wasn't used to having all this technology at my fingertips. I searched through news headlines.

Three Years Betrayed

Three Years Betrayed

When I completed Quinn’s discharge procedures, Ronnie helped us book flights to the south. The day before leaving the city, at the far end of a hospital corridor, I saw Dorian one last time. He knelt beside his paralyzed mother’s bed, gaunt and hollow-eyed, like a walking corpse. We met each other’s gaze across the crowd. His lips moved slightly, as if he wanted to say something. Nevertheless, I didn’t stop. Holding Quinn, I turned and walked into the sunlight without looking back. All the love and hatred, the blood and betrayal were left behind with that flight.
