It was the instincts that kept vampires alive no matter what once their species first began to grow. It was a fight that he could never win and he knew it. I knew it. I looked back up to see that Nico had gone almost completely still save for the quick rise and fall of his chest. Not a single muscle in his body was relaxed, like if he showed one sign of weakness he would lose whatever control he had left. His eyes went wide before his entire face contorted in pain. I let out a small gasp as he stumbled forward, catching himself by grabbing onto the wooden frame on the foot of the bed.

He took a step back and she landed on the bare floor. "I doubt you know who I am," he spoke without fear. She laughed maniacally, "we, the condemned, have neither fear of the gods nor of man. Tell me, who are you?" He smiled, "I am no man. I am Sebastian Deusdedit, lord of the vampires." She seemed a bit shocked for an instant then her eyes glowed even more. "Even more lovely," she licked blood red lips, "your heart will give us even more power than we have ever had and we will conquer the villages and rip their heart to shreds."

“ he is…Vampire King…Gualterio Corentine. ” Zero’s father. I lift my head to look at him closely. He looks back at me, his black eyes catching my attention. He doesn’t look much older than thirty…then again…he is a Vampire…and well, I have never encountered a higher-ranked Vampire in my whole life. They are cold and can send chills down your spine with a single glance. What’s unsettling is that…there is no way to find out what his power is. He can be reading my mind right now, for all I know.

Something about him resembled Azrael. “Glad to know you’re getting accustomed to our ways.” Accustomed? Forced. She was being forced to their ways. If it was someone else other than Maverick, she would have sassed out but it was Maverick. She gulped hard and lowered her head as she timidly stood rooted to her place waiting for him to say anything further. Zero glanced at Maverick and then at Grace before he let out a chuckle. “You just scared the poor girl.” Zero took long and confident strides towards the duo and before Grace could sense him, he was already in touching distance and his fingers were wrapped around her slender wrist. She flinched, immediately jerking her wrist but his hold on

Auren's expression changed. “Zero…” Zero slowly removed the darkness surrounding his body. For the first time— Auren saw him clearly. No armor. No shadows. No ancient power. Just a young man. Same face as Auren. Same eyes. Same smile. But sadder. Much sadder. Zero whispered: “My name was never Zero.” Auren stepped closer. “Then what was it?” Zero looked at him. “Kael.” Kael froze. “What?” Zero looked at him. “No.”

Morgan's eye widened as she took in the sight in front of her... another vampire. Not just a vampire, not just a rogue, but a pure-blood. The glistening golden ring on his left little finger showed a distinctive 'Z', which meant that he was a Zenon. Yeri hissed, her eyes narrowed and the gold swirls in her black eyes darkened, her wolf was awaken.

He withdraws his dagger from the wall before raising it "So long little bunny." My eyes widen as my legs moved, adrenaline seeping through me, ducking at the threat before dashing to a random hallway. Wait Zero, I heard that name somewhere before. He said showing me two pictures "The one on the left is the first assassin known as the boogeyman, and he's famous for his 100 killing streak while the one on the right is Zero he..."

Sebastian was stunned not knowing what to react. Disappointment pulls at my features from the loss of contact, resulting in another surprised look to flash across his face. “Show her to her room Brutus.” Mr. Jones appears at my side before the command has finished leaving his lips, but he stays far enough away so our bodies can’t accidentally touch. My eyes roll into the back of my head at his unwillingness to come near me just because this other vampire has forbidden it.
