Zoe Marie Novels & Stories

she exclaimed, holding up a dandelion she had plucked from the grass. Zoe, at five years old, was the spitting image of her father. She had his unruly mop of dark hair that always seemed to be in need of a comb. Her hazel eyes sparkled with mischief, the same shade as Dean's, and held a depth that seemed beyond her years. Zoe's dimpled smile could light up a room, just like her father's, and her laughter was infectious, echoing the joy that Dean carried in his heart. Despite her young age, Zoe already possessed intelligence and curiosity, traits she undoubtedly inherited from both her parents.

Zoe was half a year younger than Mable. She was the first friend Mable made when Mable joined Secret. Later, when Mable became the second-in-command of Secret, Zoe was her direct subordinate. Through more interaction, Mable discovered that Zoe was a very interesting girl. Zoe liked food, anime, and playing video games. Apart from her coldness and ruthlessness when she executed a task, Zoe was an ordinary girl next door. As far as Mable knew, Zoe had never been in a relationship before Kyle. Thus, Zoe was new to all this.

“Goodnight, Zo.” Zoe rummaged through her bedside drawer for some pain relief. She swallowed the tablets, gulped down a stale glass of water and hesitantly opened her phone browser. Fingers danced across the keys, a small pit forming in her stomach at the prospect of what she would find. Hesitating for just a moment, she sucked in a sharp inhale and typed; Natalie Keller. Dozens of articles filled the screen, accompanied by images of a stunning blonde with piercing green eyes and perfect dewy skin, a wide smile beaming in every photo. Scrolling through the articles tentatively, Zoe clicked on one from a reputable source.

I replied as we both laughed. Dylan arrived during lunch break and Zoe was still with me. "Hey Zoe." Dylan said as he walked around my table to kiss me. "Hey Dylan. How was your weekend?" Zoe asked grinning. Dylan only chuckled."The best." He replied. Zoe joined us during the meal but left when she received a message about an order that just came in at work. "See you soon." She said and left. "What does Zoe do?" Dylan asked as he packed the plates. "She is a fashion designer. Owns her own line." I replied. Dylan nodded.

"Ohh, no, no, no. Don't you dare cry again. Alright, alright. I'll marry you when we grow up. Happy now?" In the blink of an eye, Zoey's little, almond, hazelnut eyes shimmered in delight. And Dionysus almost caught his breath. He was clearly starstruck at a little girl he had only met for a few hours. Little Zoey smiled prettily. "I'm Zoey. My name is Zoey Veera Lavigne. Nice to meet you, my hubby!"

After having spoken to every single one of Maria’s former employers, she was far-and-away Zoe’s first choice to take care of Keira. But the fact that she was on a first-name basis with Viking Callahan was yet another huge point in Maria’s favor, oddly enough. Zoe loved people with a foot in two vastly different worlds, she found contradictions both fascinating and endearing, and it looked like Maria was as comfortable in the rough, dirty world of bikers and bouncers as she was in the powdered world of babies and mushed bananas. Maria might be a bit shy and conservative, but she clearly had a backbone – and Zoe liked people who could hold their own.

Not anymore. Zoe sighed, pushing aside the thoughts that threatened to linger. She had a job—a real one. She wasn’t just Adonis Walter’s contract wife. She was Zoe Powers, a five-star therapist. Reaching for her phone, she decided that if this so-called honeymoon was already a disaster, she might as well get back to work. She scrolled through her messages, checking for new clients. Most were familiar—high-profile names she had worked with before or new referrals. But one stood out.

Zoe answered on the first ring, her chipper tone cutting through my frustration like a breath of fresh air. “Sarah! How’s my favorite boss lady-slash-baby incubator?” I groaned. “I’m surviving. Barely.” “Oh no, Marina’s still there, isn’t she?” Zoe asked, her voice laced with amusement. “She’s practically set up camp,” I said, flopping onto the bed. “This morning, she told me I should replace my toast with oatmeal because it’s better for my digestion. And yesterday, it was water. She counted how many sips I took, Zoe. Counted.”

Zoe knocked on the door, leading a few bodyguards and her secretary, Donna McKay. Marie rushed out and froze upon seeing Zoe. She greeted Zoe frantically, "M-Ms. Zoe, what brings you here?" "Is Landon home?" Zoe hissed, her anger growing as she noticed that Landon had assigned their family staff, Marie, to serve Lauren. "M-Mr. Landon isn't at home …" Marie answered, looking panicked. "Where's that bitch, Lauren? She must be in there." "Ms. Zoe, Mr. Landon instructed us not to allow anyone into the villa without his permission," declared Marie. Despite feeling anxious, she loyally stood her ground.

"Sure, Have you eaten? I could order Pizza." I chuckled."Just make sure it's extra big."I stood from the floor and carried Penelope upstairs. It was only 15 minutes later she was changed and fast asleep. When I walked downstairs Carmen was sitting on the couch, holding a glass of red wine."You cleared up, Thank you!" "Of course. You know a husband would come in handy, at least you wouldn't have to do it alone." She joked. "No thanks!"I sat on the couch beside her and picked up my glass of wine."I'll let you get married first so you can try it out. Then maybe I'll get married someday if the right man comes along."
