"What the hell did you expect Zander? Hmm? When you drop a nuclear bomb telling me Zombies are real. Huh, whatcha expect?" Zander bit the inside of his cheeks. I could tell he was trying to hold in his laugh. Amusement danced in his beautiful green eyes. He cupped my chin, "You are so gullible, Little Kitten. It's turning me on!" My face blushed crimson. "So you're saying, zombies - aren't real?" "No Kitten, they're not." He chuckled and shook his head. "At least not that I know of." I let out a mile-long breath that I didn't know I was holding.

"Bossy tonight, kitten? Fine, but don't think I won't spank that ass for making daddy wait.” He let her push him toward the bathroom, his hand squeezing her hip possessively before the door clicked shut. Katherine exhaled in relief, her pulse thundering. She rushed to the kitchen, retrieving the chilled cake, its caramel glistening temptingly. Back to the terrace, she placed it on a side table. In the bedroom, she affixed a sticky note to the mirror, ‘Your kitten awaits in the terrace. Come claim your surprise.’

Screams tore through the B2 level. Martha and I bolted for the stairs. Marcus stumbled behind. The smell of blood hit us like a wall. In the makeshift chapel, Sister Catherine was on her knees before the cross. A bloody hole gaped in her neck. A zombie was hunched over her, greedily tearing at her flesh. It had crawled in through an air vent. “Oh God…” Marcus retched. I grabbed a nearby iron chalice and slammed it into the zombie’s head.

A doll with only his eyes alive. Then, the woman rolled towards him. The wheels squeaked. In the quiet of the corridor, the black mage’s heavy and strained breath was setting the zombie’s acute hearing on edge. Now threatened with death, the zombie’s brain canceled his master’s ban: Zomzom was no longer afraid of killing. He felt his own will become stronger. He felt he could sink his teeth into anyone’s thin neck without any trouble. He could tear their chest to pieces with his claws, to get to their soft heart. He looked at Livia, and even her diseased state didn’t dull his hunger.
