"Why should I trust you?" Blade sighed. "I know you don't trust hunters, but I'm not like the others. I've been tracking the rogue vampires, and I know that they're planning something big. Something that could destroy everything." Tangerine frowned. "What do you mean?"

“You should have been on my side from day one.” Blade tilted his head. “Sides are for fools.” Blade grinned like a man who’d finally lost the last screw holding his sanity together. “I loved you, Scarlet,” he said, voice low, twisted, almost tender in the sickest way. “You should’ve just let everything go my way.
