Betrayed
I was under anesthesia again for the third time in a very short time frame.
Gabriel was at my side when I woke up, holding my hand and resting his head against the stretcher’s rail. The grief on his face did nothing to alleviate what I was feeling. Completely lost. I thought having cancer was the worst thing that could ever possibly happen to me, but I was wrong. So wrong! My heart was broken and I felt like a complete failure of a human.
