Gosh! This guy was so confused.

Suddenly, Amanda came into the room and let out a cry, and Chris jerked away from me and ran to her.

“See? You couldn't even forget her for a minute, like you did me for a whole damn week. You know what? I can't do this!” I immediately walked out of the room, leaving them both to enjoy their privacy.

I gave up everything for Chris.

My family, my best friend... I lost everyone I ever loved for Chris!

My dad and my nanny were the only ones in my family until I met David, my best friend. He became rather distant after I told him about the bite, so we weren't in contact until 3 years ago, when I heard he met the beta of the black shade pack, one of the most powerful packs in New York, who turned out to be his mate.

Chris's pack, the black Moon pack, was nothing close to their power.

I picked up my phone for the first time in 5 years and ran out of the pack house and into the forest since there was hardly any network in the pack house.

I went through my phone looking for my dad's number; he was one of the most powerful businessmen in New York. I thought I was never going to call him after I left.

"Hello, daddy, it's been a while."

My voice trembles slightly, unsure of how he'll react. There was a pause on the other end, and for a moment, I worried he wouldn't answer.

"Abigail... oh, sweetie, it's so good to hear your voice," he said, his tone cracking with emotion.

I glanced around, noticing someone approaching me. My heart raced as I realized I needed to end the call quickly.

"Daddy, I need your help," I say urgently, trying to keep my voice low.

"What's wrong, baby? What's going on?" he asked, concern etched in his voice.

"I... I want to come home," I whispered, my eyes scanning everywhere.

"Okay, sweetie, I'll come get you. Where are you?" He asked, his tone firm and reassuring.

But I knew I couldn't reveal my location. I thought quickly, remembering that David knew where I was, but would he be willing to help me?

"Daddy, can you please call David? He'll know what to do. Please, you have to trust me," I pleaded.

"Daddy, I don't have much time. Please, just call David and tell him to come get me. I need him," I said, my voice shaking.

"Okay, Abigail. I'll call David. But promise me you'll be safe until we can get to you," he said, his voice laced with worry.

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "I'll be safe, Daddy. Please hurry."

"I have to go, Daddy. Please, just trust me," I whispered, my heart racing.

"I trust you, baby. We'll get to you soon," he said, his voice firm.

I hung up the phone.

"Luna, you're here; I've been looking for you.” I heard Asher's voice.

“Yes, I came out for a run.” He looked at me for a while and nodded.

“Do you want to race back?” He asked, and without saying a thing, I ran off.

Days passed, and I received no response from my dad. The pain kept increasing, and I wanted to disappear. My mind was a mess. I knew I couldn't just leave, but with the mating bond, Chris could find me in no time.

I went to the training room. I needed to do something to distract me from what was happening.

Anthony, the pack's other gamma, stood in front of me, his piercing blue eyes fixed on me.

A few months after I came to the pack, Anthony had taken me under his wing, pushing me to my limits, testing my strength, and making me understand how to use my wolf, but I stopped training because Chris got jealous.

If it weren't for Chris, Anthony, he would have become my gamma, but I was happy I got Asher.

Anthony lunged at me, his movements lightning-fast, but I was quicker. I dodged to the side, avoiding his attack by mere inches. He spun around, his eyes narrowing, and came at me again.

I dodged once more, my heart racing with excitement. This was it—the moment I'd been waiting for. I countered with a swift kick, catching Anthony off guard. He stumbled back, a hint of surprise on his face.

I took advantage of the opening, striking again and again, my movements fluid and precise. Anthony tried to defend himself, but I was relentless, my determination and anger fueling my actions.

Finally, with a triumphant cry, I landed the final blow, sending Anthony crashing to the mat. I stood over him, my chest heaving, my fists still clenched.

Anthony looked up at me, a slow grin spreading across his face. "Well done, Abigail," he said, his voice filled with pride. "You've not lost your touch."

I smiled; I believe I learned from what happened, and he smiled.

“You should get going, Luna; I don't want to get beaten up again.” He laughed.

After talking for a while, I left, and just as I climbed the stairs, I saw Amanda.

"Abi, wait up.” She said so, but I ignored her.

I was about to go into my new room when I heard a loud scream, and I turned back to see Amanda stumbling down the stairs, making me run towards her, but it was too late to do anything as her body stopped on the last of the stairs.

"Amanda!" I heard Chris's voice as he ran towards her.

Everyone gathered around Chris and Amanda, who were in a puddle of blood, making me gasp in horror.

”My baby.” She whispered, and my eyes widened in surprise.

"Who the hell pushed her down?" Chris growled, making everyone cower.

"I saw Luna pushing her," one of the she-wolves blurted out, making Chris's eyes land on mine, which were glowing with anger, and his wolf was threatening to come out and kill me!

  • Contract with Alpha Asher   Chapter 67

Asher's POV. I was very committed to finding help but not at the detriment of everything that I held dear. Most of the people who pretended like they were about to help me just wanted the slice of the cake and I was here to disappoint them as much as I could. I wasn't going to compromise my standards just to suit their narratives or egos. I was very particular about what I wanted out of life and no matter what, I was going to get it. It might just take a longer while but I would achieve it and that was the only motivation I needed. Who needed false promises, when you knew that you could have your hands on the best things in life and emerge a winner, as opposed to just letting life do its thing and still end up a loser?I had various reasons not to speak to Abigail myself because we were going to bring in so much emotion and then destroy what truly needed to be done. I wanted nothing more than a solid foundation that would give birth to more issues which would end up solving the pr

Abigail's POV. My steps carried so much weight, more than I expected. I had absolutely nothing to be worried about but something kept telling me that I needed to be very careful. Being very careful was going to help me in particular instead of other people and I wanted to seize that opportunity. It didn't come easy, but it was worth it. Mandy stared at me. "I want you to join us. Alpha Asher misses you and I would like for us to have a conversation about that. I wouldn't want us to lose out on a lot of goodness simply because we refuse to take the right step." She cajoled. The issue here wasn't me returning to that place, it was the fact that my return could cause more stress than necessary. I would have been very happy if I didn't have to form any alliance with Asher, because my trust level had depleted, and I would be deceiving myself if I pretended that everything was fine. I believed that these guys were just having the time of their life attempting to bring me back into some

  • Contract with Alpha Asher   Chapter 65

Christopher’s Pov My bones creaked as I attended to stand. Something was wrong with me, and that was why I had not gotten any reaction so far. A little bit of help here and there was not enough to sustain the injury that I felt deep inside my bones. No matter how much I tried to pass it off, the sharp minder in my joints brought me back to my senses. "You are even worse than I thought. Why are you so weak? You cannot even stand properly and you expect me to listen to you? How do you intend to give orders to that girl and expect that she follows through?” I was asked. The slimy bastard stood in front of me watching carefully and expecting that I would give a response even though I was not feeling it. I had more than enough recently not to go through with this project because it was probably going to backfire, but at the same time I was ready to go on. "I have numerous kinds of responses that will leave you in a disaster but I choose not to utter them, instead I focus on what's mo

Asher's POV. "Are you sure she's not going to send Mandy back home?" Welsh, my friend spoke over the speaker phone. I was very confident in my abilities and I was not going to allow anyone to talk me out of it no matter how well meaning they tried to portray themselves. They could never love me as much as I would, especially when I was concerned so they could shove it down their asses while I just tried to find a remedy. "We have more than enough reasons to worry, but none of them includes this and I would love for it to remain that way. I know that you are very scared and concerned about how I would handle situations but, I would also love it if you allowed me to do my thing my way. It would save me from stress, don't you think?" I was flinging him under the bus but I was not even remorseful, he was only trying to look up for me but I hated it when people wanted to treat me like a charity project, instead of the alpha that I was. I didn't conquer Christopher to be pitied. I wo

Abigail's POV. Being free should have been one of my highlights but it had a way of dampening my entire atmosphere and leaving me with nothing more than heartbreak. I was very concerned about how my life was supposed to turn out to the point where I stopped even thinking and then started automating my responses to suit what I truly wanted. I was very involved with everything that was going on, determined to take a potential risk yet still minding my business in the most amicable way. I would have been very concerned if things didn't go my way but I had also determined that I was ready to bear the consequences no matter what. My mother had to find out whether or not I liked it. I wasn't even concerned about what anybody felt, I was sure that things were going to fall back in place. The minute I took the risk, I started to feel something else deep down inside of me. Something was rising which signaled my powers but I still did not want to surrender myself to being less in control

Asher's POV. Hearing that my enemy was somewhere I could plunder and also dish what he had generously served for me was music to my ears and I was not going to take it for granted Christopher would definitely be expecting me and I wasn't going to pull such a move on him. I wanted to heighten his expectations so that there was time I decided that I needed to change my technique. If he could predict me already then I was up to nothing. The only way that man would be able to discover anything about me and use it for his own benefits would be if I had given him the leverage but without that, I was surely safe from every attack. "Why don't you release these men yet and then we can start fighting an outside enemy? If we concentrate on things that make no sense, we would end up losing sight of things that truly matter.I didn't know what he was trying to prove but all I understood was that none of this made any sense to me at the moment The only thing I needed was to be left alone to p
