Chapter 2331 Teach Him a Lesson

ผู้เขียน: Five Generals
“Kaze, since I lost a bet to you last night, my father and I will let you go this time. After this, we are even.

“But you disrespected my father and as a daughter, I cannot forgive you. I don’t want to see you anymore. You better disappear from my face before I change my mind! Don’t let me see you at Drake Gym, or I will not hold back!”

Buffy pointed at the exit and bellowed coldly.

Kaze had a good look at her. It was surprising that she would defend him in front of her father.

She might be shouting at him, demanding him to leave, but she was trying to send him away before her father got to him.

In an instant, the ill feelings she had left him with during their first meeting vanished.

Kaze smiled and simply said, “Deputy Chief Gwake, you should thank yourself for having a good daughter.

“I’ve decided. If you insist on fighting the match and lose to Hannah in the end, I will spare your life so that you can live it out to the fullest.”

He then walked toward the exit.

“Come on. You’re coming with me. Think of it as visiting a friend,” Clarice said while taking Darcy by her arm and leading her into the elevator. It was not as if Darcy had a choice. She followed Clarice to head to higher floors. Darcy made a strange look when she saw the elevator stopped on one floor. It was the floor below hers, and one of the people living there was someone she knew. It was her ex-husband. “Is your friend living on this floor?” Darcy was surprised. Heck, she even had some funny ideas. “That’s right. I’ve been here for the last few days. Where are you staying?” Clarice was lost in her emotions to notice the shift of mood in her friend. “I live one floor above your friend. I’ve been down to this floor before, and I met someone I know.” Darcy was taken aback and confused. “Really? Talk about coincidence.” Clarice did not read too much into the situation. Darcy was curious as to the person Clarice was in love with. From the way Clarice described h

“It’s not a matter whether the food is delicious or not. It’s a hassle. We can hang out as friends, but you are pushing some boundaries.” Kaze could not get used to all the attention. Before, Clarice was an assertive and cheeky girl. Now, she started to lean on Kaze too much and cling to him. She was not herself anymore. It was a shame that she seemed oblivious to the fact that she lost her own being. Kaze felt uneasy and repulsive by her behavior. “Isn’t it common for friends to give each other gifts? If you don’t like the food, I can bring you groceries tomorrow. “You can cook for me. That’s normal between friends too.” Clarice proposed a ridiculous suggestion. She just would not quit. “So that’s decided then. I’ll be back tomorrow, but you need to finish the food. Don’t let it go to waste.” Clarice hurried out of the door, not giving Kaze a chance to speak. She feared his rejection. Kaze felt helpless, and she put him in that position. “This is problemat

Dwight looked up at the door, his eyes reflecting panic. In the end, his conscience weighed heavily on him, and he sighed. “I guess I’m not cut out for this. I totally got caught.” Though Dwight was reluctant to give up on the gift, he was not left with much of a choice. Dwight could no longer put the good word for Clarice, or he would be forced to leave. He owed everything he had to Kaze. Kaze was not someone Dwight could cross. Even when Dwight had to give up on playing matchmaker, he believed Kaze and Clarice were made for each other. Kaze and Clarice looked good together. Plus, they belonged to the same social class. It was in the Viper’s Den’s best interest for Kaze and Clarice to be together. The members would only give them blessings. Alas, Kaze was not looking for romance. In fact, he avoided Clarice like a plague. It was clear from Kaze’s attitude that he was not into Clarice. He could care less about her. Though Dwight could not understand why, he was no

“Mr. Lee doesn’t have a preference when it comes to food. He'll be happy to try any cuisine,” Dwight answered. “That’s good. If you can put in the good word for me, I can offer you some compensation.” Clarice was ready to bribe Dwight. “I don’t think it’s a good idea, Ms. Geofrey. If Mr. Lee finds out, he will be pissed.” Though tempted, Dwight had to think twice. Once Kaze discovered that Dwight was involved, he would be in trouble. “What’s wrong with it? Just do it. You can expect a huge reward once this is over.” Clarice had the funds. If Clarice ended up together with Kaze, Dwight deserved a bonus for helping out. “I bought a car that I hadn’t been driving around lately. If you’re into cars, consider it a gift from me,” Clarice said upon picking up on Dwight’s hesitation. “I’ll be back tomorrow. I hope you can make some progress and don’t let me down.” Clarice believed she had said enough. Dwight should take the hint and grasp the opportunity. “Bye, Ms. Geofre

“You don’t have to do this,” Kaze said gravely. Instead of responding, Clarice opened the door and walked out. With the door closing behind her, Clarice’s heart sank to the pit of her stomach. Despite anticipating the outcome, Clarice could only feel the devastation having gone with it. Kaze’s attitude remained unchanged. Clarice thought that things might be different this time around. However, she was in for major disappointment. Reality was harsh on her. Still, she was not willing to throw in the towel. Clarice had the whole world in her hands. She just needed to find a way to hold onto it. Despite her desperation, the weight of the world was crushing her. She brought this upon herself. Yet, she could not give up and let go of Kaze. Life was a struggle, to begin with. Clarice had to press on no matter how difficult the path lay ahead of her. Clarice got a grip on herself before pressing the button for the elevator. Though nothing came of today, she could comfor

“I dropped by to bring you something to eat. You should try some. The chef at home made this for you,” Clarice said. “I’m not hungry right now. I’ll have the food when I have the appetite later,” Kaze remarked before giving Clarice a stern look. Kaze was confused by Clarice’s sudden visit. Now that Clarice had gotten the message, Kaze assumed that she would distance herself from him. Yet now, she was making passes at him. “Okay, that’s an option. I’ll reheat the food for you when you’re ready. The last time I was here, things were hectic. I can’t believe I’m back in this place.” Clarice checked out the space, taking in the dramatic change. The furnishings were pretty worn back then. The place had a recent facelift for sure. “My accommodation here is only temporary. I can leave any time.” Kaze did not want to trouble Dwight. If Clarice were to be a nuisance, Kaze would have no choice but to hasten his departure. Kaze drew the line at causing trouble or going agains
