~ RONAN ~

I lead Lyra inside the elegant little cottage I use when I need time alone, relaxing slightly as I step into the space. I wait until she crosses the threshold before closing the door behind her. I can’t stop myself from assessing her movements or scenting the air for any hint of her emotions. She’s nervous. I can tell.

She twirls slowly, her gaze sweeping over the connected living room and kitchen before roaming up toward the narrow staircase that leads to the bathroom nestled upstairs. The moment I saw this property, I knew I had to have it. It’s not extravagant, but it’s the perfect hideaway—one I only ever visit when I need to clear my head. Aside from Killan, no one else knows about it.

Lyra lets out a soft sneeze and glances up at me, and I immediately wish I’d had time to come air out the place before now. Normally, I visit during the warmer months, keep the back door open to the porch, shift, and explore the twelve acres of peace and trees. But I've only been here

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 95 — Just So You Know

~ KILLAN ~ I originally planned to keep Tess out of sight from the others. She’d hate the idea of shifting in front of anyone else, and the thought alone makes my chest tighten for her. “What if we’re too far away?” I ask, my voice low. Ronan leans back in his chair, cool and confident. “I made sure to lock onto her scent. I’ll find her. When she’s ready, just howl. I’ll make sure it’s quick.” Just howl? Despite the worry knotted in my gut, I huff a dry laugh. “Yeah. I can do that.” Ronan’s phone buzzes. He checks the screen. “Figured you could.” “Any news?” I ask. Cain was supposed to check in. He and the others are keeping the rogue contained. Their orders are clear—deliver him to the hunt thirty minutes before it starts. Ronan places the phone on the counter. “Some. But first, I need a favor.” The shift in his tone

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 94 — A Future in Sight

~ TESS ~ Despite everything, I can’t deny the fear curling inside me. The unknown is a beast I haven’t yet made peace with. Any warmth I’d built up in the bath evaporates under the sudden ice of uncertainty. Lyra survived her first shift. I can survive mine too... right? Plenty of people have been bitten and lived to tell the tale. But that doesn’t mean the pain won’t come. The next time I get a quiet moment with her, I’ll ask. I need to know what to expect. Grabbing the shampoo beside me, I get to work. I wash my hair, scrub every inch of my skin, and shave the light bristles that have appeared in all the places I never used to worry about. As the razor glides between my thighs, I think about how Killan’s mouth felt there. A shiver wracks my body, the memory still far too vivid. I shake it off and climb out, toweling myself dry and slipping into the soft, folded clothes he left on the counter.

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 93 — The Weight We Carry

~ KILLAN ~ "Going right for the throat, are we?" Cain asks, his voice low and dangerous. His eyes, a shade of blue so dark they look black, begin to glow faintly. "I left my pack because I had to." "How so?" I ask, keeping my tone even. Cain sighs, tension rolling off him in waves. "My mate activated our dream pairing." That throws me. Leaving his pack after that doesn’t make sense. “That doesn’t add up,” I say finally. “Why didn’t you wait for her?” “I did,” Cain replies with another sigh. “But for some reason, she never came. My wolf and I waited for as long as we could. Eventually, we decided we couldn’t stay still anymore. I left to find her.” “She’s here?” He shrugs, noncommittal, and I growl softly. “It’s either she’s here or she’s not.” “I don’t know where she is.” “Then why are you here?” I ask, pressing. "I need to

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 92 — Can't Afford Surprises

~ TESS ~ For the last hour, I’ve been locked in strategy with my mate, my best friend, our Alpha, and our temporary Beta. Then came the hardest part—facing the pack. The tension was thick, their doubts about expanding the pack louder than I expected. It felt endless, a constant push and pull. But finally, we found common ground. We all agreed that when the hunt comes, we’ll show our cards. For once, I don’t shudder at the thought of my transformation. I’m just relieved the pack is united. The pack disperses not long after. Lyra retreats to the kitchen with Magnus while I try to keep my eyes open, fighting sleep with everything I have. But my head dips forward again, my body betraying me. Everything aches. Not just my muscles, but deep in my bones, like I’ve been through a war my mind can’t remember. I rock gently in place, my back cushioned by the

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 91 — I'm In

~ TESS ~ Killan doesn’t speak right away. He just stays close to me, his forehead resting lightly against mine, both of us breathing hard. The air is thick with the scent of us, our sweat and sex, but I don’t really care. I just allow myself to cry. Killan eases out of me, careful and slow, then helps me sit up and gently adjusts my clothes, his touch reverent. There’s no judgment in his eyes, only worry. “I’m not upset,” he finally says, voice rough. “I was just surprised. But not in a bad way. If that’s what fate wants, then we’ll deal with it—together.” I nod, but something cracks inside me anyway. My wolf whines in the back of my mind, begging for attention, trying to ground me, but all I feel is the spiral—panic and doubt, creeping in like vines around my chest. What if I’m not strong enough for this? What

  • MARKED BY MOONLIGHT    Chapter 90 — A Bit of Heaven on Earth

~ TESS ~ As soon as I have space, I kick off my shoes and shimmy my jeans down my thighs. Killan doesn’t waste a second. The moment his jeans fall to his knees, he lifts me onto the cool wooden desk, stepping between my legs like he belongs there—because he does. I spread for him without hesitation, bracing my hands behind me as I lean back. “The things you do to me,” he growls, his voice thick with desire as he slides the head of his cock against my entrance. He’s so hard, heavy, and wide that even though I’ve had him before, my body tenses in anticipation. I breathe out, forcing myself to relax, clinging to the memory of how damn good he feels when he’s buried inside me. “I wasn’t bullshitting, Sunshine. I’m yours. Mind, body, and soul. I’d do anything for you.” Then he pushes in. That thick, swollen head stretches me wide and slides in deep with a force that knocks a gasp from my throat. My head falls back as he fills me in one slow, claiming thrust, and God, it’s everyth
