Pamela climbed the stairs to her apartment as each step felt heavier than the last one. She was feeling terrible guilt that was sticky and suffocating. The kiss replayed in her mind. It was soft and gentle, and nothing like the possessive bruising kisses Richard had filled her with. She fumbled with her keys, her chest still tight. "He deserves better than this," she thought. "Better than me."

Yes, initially Jason had been a rebound, just a fling, not meant to last. But now, things were getting complicated and she was the cause. She was the one that kissed him. She could have just shut the car door and climbed up the stairs, but instead she kissed him.

Inside the apartment was dark. Sophia was out-probably with Luke. Well, thank goodness, because she needed to be alone.

The right thing to do was to give Jason a chance. Jason was kind, funny, uncomplicated. He didn't come with a past drenched in Mafia blood or a wife who was total bitch. He was normal.

And yet, as she kicked off her h

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 39(Dinner Preps)

Pamela blinked. "What faculty dinner?" "The Annual Faculty Dinner & Awards Night," Sophia said, like it was obvious. "It’s this saturday Students can come if they’re invited. And you’re my plus-one." Pamela’s stomach dropped. "No." "Yes." "No, Sophia." "Pam. Richard will be there." "That’s exactly why I’m not going!" "Wrong. That’s exactly why you are going." Sophia’s eyes gleamed. "You show up looking like a goddess on Jason’s arm, and Richard gets to watch you move on. That’s how you get over someone—by showing them they lost you." Pamela opened her mouth to argue, but Sophia cut her off. "And before you say no—just think about it. One night. One chance to walk in there like you own the place. No tears. No regrets. Just you, being untouchable." Pamela hesitated. The idea was equal parts terrifying and thrilling. Sophia smirked. "I’ll take that silence as a yes." Pamela groaned. Sophia clapped her hands. "Okay. Dress time." "What? Now ?" "Uh, yes now. We

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 38(Moving on)

The hallway seemed so endless as Pamela walked silently. Beside her was Sophia casting worried glances at her every two seconds. There was a hole in her chest, a hole so deep that the pain could not be explained by mere words. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand to clean up the remaining tears. She was no longer crying, but she didn't feel any better. When they reached the entrance, Sophia broke the silence. "Should we order a ride?" Pamela shook her head. "No. I can walk." Sophia didn't argue. They stepped into the sunlight and kept walking. Around them were students laughing, and gisting, but none of the conversations reached Pamela's ears. All she could hear was Richard's voice. "It was the only choice." He had no right to make that choice alone. Sophia bumbed her shoulders gently. "You okay? Wanna talk about it?" "Don't worry. I'm fine." Sophia gave her a look. "Doesn't seem like that to me." "Everything is fine, Sophia. I just... confirmed what I already knew. No

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 37(Regrets)

The moment Richard closed the door, regret set in instantly. He summoned all he composure in the world to walk down he hallway to the parking lot and to his car. But the moment he stepped inside the car he opened the box in his heart and er everything out."Shit...shit.... fuck," he screamed loudly slamming his fists on the steering wheel. "What did I just do?" Of course he didn't want her to leave-to move on...with Jason. "Fuck Jason." His heart was screaming back at him. He should have told her how he really felt. He should have told her Eleanor was a liar and manipulatorz but instead he told her to move on. Nature gave him another chance, brought it right to his doorstep. And what did he do? He spat right in nature's face. This time around he was sure he'd lost Pamela for real. If there were any atom of love or feelings she had for him, it was all gone."Why do I have to ruin everything I touch?" A thought came to him to step out and rush after her-tell her he wanted her back m

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 36(I know it's over)

His eyes were exactly as she remembered- dark, but with burning flames, cold but warm at the same time. Those same eyes had once starred at her naked body, giving her commands in the dark. "Hi, sweetheart," he said with a low voice. "It's been a while." How could he call me that so casually as if nothing had happened? "How have you been?" he asked, while starring her deep in the eyes. "I've been...fine," she lied. Then a long painful silence stretched between them till Pamela couldn't take it anymore. "Eleanor told me everything." "Richard's expression didn't change, but she saw his fingers tightened around the edge of the podium. "I figured," he said. "She told me some things about you." Pamela continued. "About who you really are." Richard exhaled. "And what did she stay." "She told me your name isn't Richard Carter. That it's Viktor, Viktor Petrovich. " Richard kept staring. She continued"...that you-are-a killer. That you worked for the Russian Mafia."

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 35(Crossroads)

Pamela's eyelids fluttered open to the sound of running water. Sophia was already in the shower singing off key to the pop music playing from her phone. For a moment, Pamela lay still, disoriented, until the events of last night came rushing back."Oh God!" She had tried her best to all asleep after the whole 'sexssion', but she couldn't. Images of Luke and Sophia grinding against each other-Luke's crazy dick in Sophia's ass, kept flashing to the back of her eyelids. She later managed to fall asleep around 4.am, but three hours of sleep was not enough. She squeezed her eyes shut, as if she could erase the memory, but it came back again, as clear as day. She groaned, rolling onto her stomach and burying her face in the pillow. The shower stopped, and moments later, Sophia emerged wrapped in a towel, her hair clinging to her shoulders. She paused when she saw Pamela awake, as a smirk grew slowly on her lips."Morning, Sunshine," Sophia chirped, slowly dropping into the edge of the bed.

  • Total Surrender    Chapter 34(Peeping Pam)

Pamela checked the time on her phone-11:28PM, and yet she couldn't sleep. She lay on her back, one arm tucked behind her head, the other resting on her stomach. She had tried all she could to fall asleep-played rain sounds, even counted from a hundred thousand backwards, but each time, her counts kept being interrupted by thoughts of Richard. Images of him and Eleanor tangled up in their silk sheets kept creeping to her mind. She squeezed her eyes shut, as if she could shut the image away, but it disappears, only to come back seconds later. She was still lost in thoughts when a soft click from the front door snapped her back to the present.Sophia was home.Pamela was not expecting her to come back because whenever she stays away this late, she ends up spending the night at Luke's place, unless something is off.Her suspicion was confirmed when she heard the muffled sounds of giggling followed by a deep, hushed 'shhh'."Yup, she thought. "That sounded like Luke"She heard another whis
