Sorry, I've Moved On
During her marriage, Paula never knew what happiness meant. She loved Len Bertram sincerely but all he did was insult her for two years. Even despite his indifference, Paula's love for this man didn't fade.
She believed he would come to realize that her feelings weren't false.
Unfortunately, she was set up by her devious mother-in-law and her stepsister.
Len believed them, which was unsurprising, and sent her away from the Bertram family as punishment.
Six years have passed, and Paula is back with a fresh perspective on life and David Alesso, one of the most renowned film directors in the world, at her side.
Now her ex-husband wants her back but Paula isn't the fragile, timid girl she used to be and won't let Len take away her joy.
Len appeared more composed than he had been six years ago, but Paula was nothing like she had been.
Now scheming, wild, unforgiving... Those people would regret what they did to her.

Chapter: Twenty FiveChapter 25None of them anticipated that Paula Maillet would sue them all so quickly after she announced her intention to do so. How was it even possible to locate them?Despite the fact that most of her followers were haters, she had been enjoying some growth in popularity."Will she actually sue them?""Isn't she supposed to be begging for forgiveness? We don't even want her anymore for director David's movie. We want a new female lead."With a knowing smile on her lips, Veronica read out the comments. "These are enough for us to consider changing the female lead. Being a businesswoman, I detest losing. Although one loss is enough, it's better to prevent the root before it takes control.""Miss Veronica, we understand your concern but…" David tried to speak but was interrupted by Paula."There's no need to defend me, Mr. Alesso. I do not want my actions to cause the team to receive negative feedback. I'll step back as the female lead but not as the writer of this piece," Paula said,

Chapter: Twenty FourThe video played on the screen for the nth time. The man rewatched the video, scrutinizing it intently and narrowing his eyes as though he wished to not overlook any crucial information."Have you located the poster yet?" Len uttered, handing over the phone to Isak, who was sitting in the front seat. "Is it really someone we know, or is it Drake?"Len didn't trust that guy, especially since he declared his feelings for Paula and his desire to pursue her. Even though he and Paula were no longer together, it was strange to hear such remarks from the self-proclaimed playboy Drake."I'm sorry, but Mr. Bertram, why would Mr. Steel want to hurt the person he has feelings for? I'm not supporting him, but the perpetrator is someone who doesn't like Madam's arrival," Isak said, shaking his head. After all these years, he still remained oblivious to some things.Even though Paula isn't married to his boss anymore, Isak still referred to her as 'Madam.'"Who would not like her arrival? It's not

Chapter: Twenty threeIn the evening, Paula wore a hoodie to go grocery shopping. Her hair was in a messy bun, and she wore a face mask."Mom, why are you wearing a mask?" the little boy asked, his eyes on her. "We're just going to the grocery store, right?"Paula chuckled, pulling out a smaller mask from her bag. "You should wear one too. Mom's somewhat famous now. I don't want fans causing a scene if they see me."Winter nodded, taking the mask from her. "Then I'll wear it, Mom. It looks good on you, though."As they walked to the garage, Winter trailed behind his mother, his expression unusually serious. Once inside the car, Paula noticed her typically talkative child was unusually quiet."If there's anything on your mind, you can talk to me. Mommy's here to listen," she assured him. However, Winter simply looked away without saying a word.Winter was more mature and perceptive than boys his age. Every so often, he seemed older than his own mother."I would rather not stay here. I miss my friends and Mi

Chapter: Twenty two"He withdrew his investment? But filming will start next week?"The man had a worried look on his face as he rubbed his temples a few times. His eyes were glued to his phone, ever since he received the call from Mr. Bertram's assistant.David Alesso was a renowned director, and someone withdrawing their investment from his movie shouldn't have affected him, except the filming was scheduled to start next week."Why don't you try to contact Mr. Bertram for me? He should at least give a reason for such abrupt action," David told his assistant, reaching for his phone. "I'm going to talk to Paula first."As his assistant walked away, a woman entered, her heels clinking against the tiled floor."Miss Veronica, what brings you here?" David placed his phone down, unable to make a call due to his unexpected visitor."Mr. Alesso, we trusted you because you are one of the best, but frankly, I'm starting to think otherwise. Didn't you do a background check on your actors before casting them?" Ver

Chapter: twenty oneSeeing the annoyed face of her father, Paula let down a deep breath before standing up to her feet. She should have known that Melissa was up to no good. She knew, of course, but it would have been preferable if she had said no to their meeting."What do you think you are doing?" Gerald said, angrily infusing his words. "You disappeared without a word, and now, just as you did eight years ago, you are returning to get your sister's man."Trying to contain her rage, Paula let out a deep breath. "Mr. Astor, it appears that you are not understanding something. You should ask your daughter's man before accusing me! God!"However, Gerald wasn't having any of it. Paula, in his opinion, was a bad daughter. She was literally the child who brought shame to the entire family. He is never going to allow what happened eight years ago repeat itself.Melissa, his virtuous daughter, had given this unappreciative child more than her fair share of effort, but the child is still attempting to take her

Chapter: TwentyEven though Paula really didn't want to go, Drake made sure to remind her every single day. Finally, it was Sunday evening. Paula dressed simply because she was meeting two people she was clearly not interested in.As per usual, Drake arrived for the pick-up thirty minutes early and acted like a gentleman.Drake still seemed happy to see Paula, even though they had already met this week for the script reading."You look amazing," He complimented, opening the door for her."Thank you," Paula replied, smiling and blushing.Who would not blush if a handsome and popular man like Drake opened the car door for them?As the car started, Drake was the first to break the silence in which Paula appreciated. Considering that they will be collaborating in the coming weeks, she wanted to speak with him. Stated differently, she wanted to build a comfortable relationship with her work partner."Is it really true that you were married? I sincerely looked for you after graduation" Drake said, without

VESPERA
"I am not the ghost you are looking for."
Three years ago, the timid and pushed-aside Lorna disappeared into the icy depths of the river, leaving behind a family that loathed her and a fiancé, Ezekiel, whose heart was as cold as the water that took her.
Now, a woman named Vespera has arrived in City F.
She is the new "Miracle" lead of the most anticipated thriller series in the country. She is sharp, brilliant, and possesses a terrifyingly beautiful grace that commands every room.
When Ezekiel sees her, his frozen world shatters. The resemblance is haunting, the pull is magnetic, and he becomes obsessed with proving that the woman in the emerald silk is the girl he lost.
But the evidence says otherwise.
Vespera has no scars. Her medical records come from a different continent. Her past is documented, her family is accounted for, and most importantly, she looks at Ezekiel with the polite, empty eyes of a complete stranger.
As Ezekiel descends into a spiral of obsession, trying to reclaim a past that may not exist, Vespera begins her "Script."
Is she a ghost seeking vengeance, or a stranger playing a deadly game? In the world of acting, the greatest performance is the one where the lead actress forgets who she used to be.

Chapter: CHAPTER 28The car pulled up outside the venue at eight o'clock exactly. The building was designed with all clean lines and lit glass, the entrance was flanked by arrangement of barriers and lighting that transformed an arriving crowd into content. The Vine Entertainment showcase drew a specific tier of industry attendance, a kind of even where everyone was there to be seen and had prepared accordingly. Some were there to make new connections while some were there to flaunt the connections they'd made and also to gist. Regardless, what nobody had prepared them for apparently was them. The car door opened and Vespera stepped out first. The cameras that jad been doing their patient, professional work across the arrivals found her immediately. It was like an automatic gravitational thing. After all, she had suddenly seemed to become the star of the night so she waa used to it. But then Ezekiel stepped out behind her and the atmosphere shifted instantly. The paparazzi line adjusted, voices picked

Chapter: CHAPTER 27She had been ready for twenty minutes before she allowed herself to look. The mirror in her bedroom was full length, positioned beside the wardrobe where the light from the window caught it correctly in the evening. She bit her lips, clearly pleased with what she was looking at in the mirror. The gown she had decided to go for was a deep burgundy and it was structured at the bodice with a sweetheart neckline that sat cleanly against her collarbone, fitted through the waist, and fell into a skirt with enough movement to be interesting without being dramatic. The fabric had a subtle sheen to it and the back was low fitting more into her shape. Her hair was up, with a soft twist that left a few pieces loose at her jaw and the back of her neck. The makeup was light and precise, enhancing the architecture of her face without announcing itself. She didn't want to drag too much attention to herself. She already had to deal with a lot. She looked at herself for another minute and smiled.

Chapter: CHAPTER 26Everyone was present at the sudden meeting in the main production suite on the third floor of the studio building. It had become a familiar space for such things to be held. The cast settled in with their coffees and their scripts and the low level speculation that ran through any production meeting that hadn't been precedes by an agenda. Vespera took her usual seat and listened to all the guesses. Jerry came in at three minutes past ten. He set this folder on the table, looked around at the assembled faces and smiled. "Good morning, everyone. I won't waste anyone's time and just get straight to what this is about. We are making a cast addition. The network came back to us on the supporting role in episodes seven through ten which is the younger sister arc. We've been running with the role underwritten, as you know, and they want it filled properly." He glanced at the folder again and then back up. "We have someone coming in. She will be reading with Vespera this week and if th

Chapter: CHAPTER 25Katy found Lynn in the corridor outside the production wing. She almost walked past her but her horrible state made her pay attention to notice it was even her. She stopped and looked at Lynn from the gown to the hair to the face and back to the gown. "What...the...hell...hapoened to you?"Lynn straightened from the wall. The movement had a dignity to it that the appearance unfortunately did not support. "There was an issue with a tap in the bathroom." "A tap?" "Yeah. The water came out sideways. I supposed it was a fault with the fitting." Katy stared at her. "That's ridiculous. You look like you were pushed into a fountain." "I am aware of how I look, Katy." "I have people waiting." Katy's voice dropped into the register it went to when she was angry and had decided to be precise about it rather than loud. "Do you understand that? I called in a favour to get you in front of Michael Ardenne and his casting director this afternoon. Michael Ardenne, Lynn, who has

Chapter: CHAPTER 24Vespera exhaled in relief after the final cut had been announced. The scene wrapped at half past two. It had been a good shoot. There was no trouble and also certainly, no trouble with Katy. Jerry had called cut on the final scene with the specific satisfaction of a man who was ahead of schedule and intended to enjoy it. "Good job, my darling." Jerry blew her a kiss, causing her to smile. Vespera came off set in high energy, proud that things had gone the way they were supposed to go. Anne fell into step beside her immediately with her tablet up and her mouth gushing out information like a running tap.. "You have a fitting at four which we can push if the shoot had run over but since it hasn't, we should keep it." She scrolled. "Jerry wants a brief cast alignment meeting tomorrow morning before the next table read. He insisted that it should be by nine o'clock at his production office." "And..." Anne paused intentionally and when Vespera glanced at her, she noticed the sm

Chapter: CHAPTER 23Ezekiel arrived at the office at seven fifty-three. This was not unusual. What was unusual was that he had been awake since four and had spent the intervening hours doing the specific kind of non-sleeping that involved lying in the dark with his eyes open and his mind running calculations he hadn't even asked it to run. He had not resolved anything by morning. He just simply waited for it to be late enough to justify getting up. Philip was already at his desk outside the main office when Ezekiel came through. Philip Reeves had been hus executive assistant for four years and had already known the nature of his boss and the work he was employed to do. He stood as Ezekiel approached, with a tablet in his hand as he briskly went through the morning brief before Ezekiel had fully sat down. "Eight thirty is the infrastructure review with the acquisitions team. It should run about ninety minutes." Philip fell into step beside him as they moved into the office. "Eleven o'clock is the c
