Contract Marriage With My Ex's Boss
"I have a proposal for you," Levi said, as he relaxed into his chair. "One that would be beneficial to the child, and my company."
I leaned forward with raised brows, my interest piqued. "What is it?"
"We have to get married."
Despite the seriousness of the situation, I laughed.
I expected him to say that he had been joking. Rather, he gazed at me with furrowed brows. "Did I say something funny, miss Hailey?"
Hailey's world shattered when she caught her boyfriend cheating with her best friend. Seeking solace, she had a one-night stand with a stranger, unaware that it would lead to something she hadn't bargained for. Pregnancy.
When she tracked down the man she slept with that night, she was stunned to discover he was her ex's boss, Levi King.
Expecting rejection after confronting him, she was surprised by his proposal: a contract marriage.
As they continued in their fake relationship, real feelings began to blossom. But when jealous exes refuse to accept their new reality, Hailey and Levi must face the challenges that came with it, and fight for their future.
"Why don't we make him pay?" Levi proposed, a smirk playing on his lips.
I stared at him in shock. Even after I got cheated on, the thought of revenge never crossed my mind.
Only one thought rang in my head at that moment. 'This man must be sick.'

Chapter: SixtyHailey's POV "That's enough," Matt cuts in, clapping his hands. Finally. He turns away from the camera, his gaze narrowing when it lands on me. I'm starting to believe Levi pays people to favor him. First, the photographer. And now, Matt. I wasn't even the one starting up the argument! It's just not fair. "Yes," the cameraman agrees. "That was perfect. There was a lot of chemistry between you two—though I shouldn't be surprised, you're married," he smiles. The first time I've seen him smile at me today. Hallelujah. "You both did a good job. Hailey, if I knew being with your husband was all it took for you to get it right, we'd have done this first," he jokes... I think. Levi squeezes my shoulders. "You see? I'm your good luck charm." I snort. Hardly. "For the photos, we’re switching things up. Levi sits on the stool, and Hailey...you’ll sit on his lap.""What?!" I blurt before I can stop myself. I clamp my hands over my mouth, my eyes widening. "Sorry. That was... uncalled

Chapter: fifty nine Hailey's POV "Okay now do a different pose. Something that shows confidence." I let out a huff and adjust myself on the stool, raising my arm to better display the label on the container. We've been at the studio all morning, bombarded by nonstop commands from the photographer and Matt. One more shout, and I swear I’m throwing this bottle across the room and leaving this place. Their constant nitpicking is driving me insane.I don't even think I've heard the photographer say one nice thing about me all day.But Levi, on the other hand, is killing it. He's doing everything so effortlessly that I'm starting to get a little jealous. "Yes, Levi. That's perfect," the photographer praises. 'Yes, Levi. That's perfect, ' I mock under my breath, rolling my eyes. Give me a break. He's not even doing anything. Just casually standing with a bottle. The man's acting like he's the Mona fucking Lisa or something. I could swear I did that exact pose five minutes ago, and all I got was a shake

Chapter: fifty eight Hailey's POV The nerve of that guy. Marching into my office and barking orders like he owns the place.God, I hate his cockiness. And what do I even hate more? The fact that I found myself obeying his command like I'm some dumb puppet. 'I won't repeat myself, Hailey. Let's go.' Who the hell does he think he is? I'd kill to wipe that smug smirk off his lips. Those frustratingly perfect lips. Ugh. And now my mind even wanders to his lips on its own accord. Great. All because of that stupid, deep, sexy voice of his. I hate him so much! "I can literally see steam coming out of your ears," he says and I can hear the smile in his voice. I ignore him, my cheeks puffing out as I exhale a breath. I stomp past him, out of the office and toward where I'd parked my car. Digging through my bag, I search for my keys, wanting to be gone before he catches up."Where the hell are those goddamned keys," I mutter, rummaging through my purse. Then, I hear it. The sound of keys jingling just inch

Chapter: fifty seven Levi's POV "So let me get this right," I say, pushing myself out of the seat—Hailey’s seat, technically—and start pacing the room. "You want me to be in the shoots?" Matt nods, a smile on his face. "Exactly." I glance over at Hailey. She’s sitting across from us in one of the client chairs, arms folded, lips twitching like she’s trying not to laugh. What the hell did I get myself into? "You’re serious?" I ask, stopping to face him. "Oh, I’m dead serious," Matt replies. "And you won’t be doing it alone. Hailey’s joining you." My eyes flick back to her. Her eyebrows shoot up in surprise, and I know for a fact this wasn’t part of the plan... at least, not her plan. Figures. The moment I walked in and heard the first part of what Matt had to say, I realized that he'd used Hailey's name to deceive me. She didn't even know that he'd called until he told her. And now, he didn't inform her that she'd be a part of the photo sessions. I can't help but wonder, what is he r

Chapter: fifty sixJust as I'm about to scold my receptionist for spilling coffee on some important documents, I feel someone tap my arm. I turn to find a tall, red-haired woman smiling up at me—big green eyes, an aura that practically screams sex. She's the kind of woman Levi, back in his fuckboy days, would've been all over. She flashes a seductive smile that probably works on most men. It doesn't work on me. In fact, it irritates me. Something about her rubs me the wrong way, though I can't quite put my finger on what. "Do you work here?" She asks, batting her lashes in a way that makes me wonder if she has something in her eye. I ignore her and turn back to the receptionist. She's usually meticulous, which makes this slip-up even more disappointing. And even worse for her, I happened to be passing by when I caught her dabbing the papers with a towel. "How did that happen?" I ask in a calmer voice this time, completely ignoring the lady. Maybe the redhead will take the hint and walk

Chapter: fifty five Charlotte's POV "I'm here to see my boyfriend, Jake. Jake Presley?" I say again, louder this time, to the receptionist who seems determined to ignore me. "You know, your boss?" She keeps typing like I’m invisible. I clench my jaw, tapping my freshly done nails on the desk. I just had them done, and now I’m ruining them on this cheap-ass counter. "Is he in?" I ask, leaning forward. She ignores me still. I knock on the desk harder. "Hey? Lady? If you're not going to do your job, why are you even here." She glances at me briefly, her face twisting with disdain, but doesn't say anything. What the hell is wrong with this lady? I click my tongue in irritation, deciding to get her to respond one way or another. I'm done being polite. I spot a cup of coffee on her desk and, without hesitation, tip it over. The liquid splashes across her lap and over a stack of papers. "What the hell?!" she shrieks, leaping to her feet. Guess it was hot. Oh well. Bonus for me. She g

Mated by fate
"I brought you here because you're my mate."
"mate?" I ask incredulously.
"yes. And I plan to make sure that you remain here, Tammy. Even if you try to run away from this, I will keep bringing you back every single time."
Tammy is a nurse living a normal life. That changes after an encounter with a mysterious man, as her world begins to turn upsidedown.
Adam Grayson, the next-in-line alpha of the skyline pack has been searching for his mate for eight years. His search comes to an end after a brief meeting with her, but claiming her poses a problem for him, so he begins making plans to get her.
With the time of witch's curse manifestation approaching, Adam uses that to his advantage and gets ignorant his mate, Tammy, to cater for the wolves of his pack.
And with her stay in the pack house, new developments occur, which disrupts her past and threatens her future with Adam.
Will they still come together after terrible secrets unfold? Or would their bond be shattered?
A scream pierces the air, and I whirl around, my attention now on the crowd.
The lady, Amanda, points a trembling finger at me. "A witch! We have a witch among us!"
I shake my head. "What? No!" I cry. "I'm not a witch!"
"Witch! Witch! Witch!" The chants rise from the crowd.
I turn back to Adam. "Adam, tell them I'm not a witch. Adam please!"

Chapter: Fifty nineTammy's POV It's been a week since the full moon - and Adam and I were together. I haven't seen much of him since then. There have been some changes in the pack. Most of the people who fell into the curse-induced sleep have woken up. Only about five people have not woken up - of which Jackson is one. Thinking about it sends a sliver of dread down my spine. Because if he never wakes up, it'll be my fault. Aside from the people waking up, my dreams have become more frequent. And stranger. Other unusual things have been happening too.The day before yesterday, I was shaving my legs and accidentally scraped my skin. I felt the sting and saw the blood. But when I looked again, there was no injury. Not even a scratch. I would have convinced myself into believing I'd imagined it, if not for the other oddities that have been piling up lately. I also had a dream - or maybe a vision - about the handbook. It opened to a page, and I could clearly read what was written. I can't be sure I was

Chapter: Fifty eightAlexander's POV A muffled groan escapes me as I pull at the chains binding my wrists, the cold metal biting into my skin. It's futile. No one has heard me in twenty years - I doubt today will be any different. Footsteps echo through the cave. Then, a familiar sound. "Tch tch tch." My captor clicks his tongue as he steps into the dim light. "What have I told you about making noise, Alex?" I don't respond. How can I, when I've lost my voice? He chuckles, low and cruel. "Oh, that's right. You can't speak."He moves closer, stretching out his hand. The moment his fingers hover near my skin, the searing pain begins. I should be used to it by now, but the agony never dulls. My mouth opens in a silent scream. "You know, I should have grown bored of this by now," he muses, watching me writhe. "But it still pleases me. Why is that, Alexan?" I glare at him, hatred burning in my eyes. It only amuses him. "How pitiful. The mighty Alpha of skyline pack... reduced to this. And yo

Chapter: fifty seven Third person's POV "Arabella!" Freya's voice cut through the stillness of the woods.'Where has she gone now?' her mother thought, pushing into the forest, searching for her daughter. Her eyes darted between the towering trees, searching for her daughter. The girl always wandered off, and Freya always had to go looking for her. A sharp squeal rang out behind her, followed by the sound of laughter. Freya spun around, heart lurching. "Arabella, come back! It’s just a bug; it won’t hurt you!""No, go away! You're gross!" The voice was closer now, high-pitched and teasing.A second later, Arabella came barreling through the trees, her black curls bouncing with each step. She crashed into Freya’s legs, giggling, until she glanced up and saw the stern set of her mother’s jaw. Freya folded her arms. "What have I said about you running off into the woods?"Arabella’s laughter died. She clasped her hands in front of her, eyes cast downward. "Not to go too far."A rustling came from the

Chapter: Fifty sixUnknown person's POV I have been observing the girl Adam brought here - Tammy - for a while now, and none of them even suspect a thing. She isn't just a normal girl, no matter how much she tries to deny it. That night in the meeting, when she first arrived, I sensed something off about her. Something different. Her scent burned hot in my nose, too intense, too unnatural. At first, I thought it was just my heightened senses playing tricks on me. But when I saw her up close again, I knew it wasn’t. Even the people who woke up from the curse-induced sleep testified that they had seen her doing something to them. I can't believe that even when Adam was there to witness it firsthand, he still didn't try to investigate her properly. And when he eventually did, he convinced himself she was a Wanderer. He proves to be a fool at times. I'm incredibly glad that I've gotten somewhat close to them and I was able to get access to the book on Wanderers. And I'm also relieved that he wa

Chapter: Fifty five Tammy's POV I sit up, intrigued by what he has to say. "It happened when I was seven," Adam begins, his voice quieter now. "Around the time the curse started and my mom died. I can't seem to remember the details, but I remember thinking about the ashes on every tree. I decided I liked the color grey that day. I couldn't like the color of the ashes because of the sad memories attached to it... so I picked the color closest to it.""Shouldn't that have been white?" I tease, a soft laugh escaping me. He chuckles. "Grey's probably felt more like me. A dull, heavy nothingness."His words settle between us, and I frown. Something about his story doesn’t sit right with me. "All those things happened at once?" I ask, my brows furrowing. "That's three questions, Tammy," he points out, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "And to answer your illegal question - I don't know. My memories from that time are a blur. I only remember what came after.""That seems odd, don't you think?"He ex

Chapter: Fifty four Tammy's POV "What do you mean you can't find the key, Ophelia?" Adam's voice booms, vibrating through the thick, wooden door. He's asked her that, for might be the hundredth time, this morning. I'd woken to the sound of Adam's escalating shouts. Ophelia had so conveniently misplaced the key - my room key! And of course, there's no spare one around, because the keys were in a bundle.I fight to hold in a laugh as Adam's face flushes red, his frustration radiating off him. He's definitely tired of being trapped with me for so long. I don't blame him. After hours of forced proximity and a pretense of casual conversations, due to Ophelia's ingenious plan. We tried our best to make things less tense between us, but that has worn thin. And now, it's either Adam leaves, or we see how long we can ignore the obvious tension lingering between us. "Ophelia!" Adam roars, his fist slamming against the door again. "Find that key right now, or I swear you won't like what happens when I get out
