Contract Marriage With My Ex's Boss

Contract Marriage With My Ex's Boss

"I have a proposal for you," Levi said, as he relaxed into his chair. "One that would be beneficial to the child, and my company." I leaned forward with raised brows, my interest piqued. "What is it?" "We have to get married." Despite the seriousness of the situation, I laughed. I expected him to say that he had been joking. Rather, he gazed at me with furrowed brows. "Did I say something funny, miss Hailey?" Hailey's world shattered when she caught her boyfriend cheating with her best friend. Seeking solace, she had a one-night stand with a stranger, unaware that it would lead to something she hadn't bargained for. Pregnancy. When she tracked down the man she slept with that night, she was stunned to discover he was her ex's boss, Levi King. Expecting rejection after confronting him, she was surprised by his proposal: a contract marriage. What starts out as a pretense begins to feel like something real, and the line between love and pretense is blurred. They begin to explore the feelings that come with wanting something real—but lies don't stay hidden forever. And when jealous exes also refuse to accept their new reality, Hailey and Levi must face the challenges that come with it, and fight for a future together. One that isn't bound by a contract. "Why don't we make him pay?" Levi proposed, a smirk playing on his lips. I stared at him in shock. Even after I got cheated on, the thought of revenge never crossed my mind. Only one thought rang in my head at that moment. 'This man must be sick.'

I don't notice his hand has slid down until he cups my heat. "Levi," I gasp. "I know, baby. I'm going to take good care of you."With that, he moves down my body, briefly placing a kiss on my bump before stopping at my legs. I lift them, trying to shimmy out of my shorts, but he holds me in place. "Let me."Not waiting for a go-ahead from me, he pulls my shorts off and throws them aside, leaving me bare in front of him. He adjusts my legs, placing them over each of his shoulders, before settling between them. And oddly enough, I don't feel shy. He's staring at me like I'm a work of art, and it does a lot to boost my confidence. He kisses the inside of my thigh. "Have I told you how gorgeous you are?" I try to pretend like that singular action isn't stirring up my insides. "Mmm... Maybe once or twice." "Then I don't tell you enough. You are fucking gorgeous, Hun." His kisses move lower, and I shudder. "The sexiest woman to ever live. I could spend my entire lifetime telling you

...Okay, maybe just a little. But that'd be for not doing it sooner. The one time I had sex with Levi was simply the best sex of my life, and I've been denying myself of it again, all this time. But not again... Or at least not today. Today, I give in to these hormones that keep trying to have more control of my actions than they should. My thoughts are broken through when Levi speaks. "Since we're getting everything off our chest now, I have a question to ask." I look up at him, my chin resting on his clavicle. "What?" "Did you mean what you said to my mum?" I frown, confused. "Huh?" "About me being a great dad. Did you mean it?" "You heard that?""Mhm," he hums. Then, a small smile appears on his lips. "I heard everything you talked about.""Wow. You're such an eavesdropper." At that, he squeezes my sides, making me giggle. "Answer me.""I did mean everything I said, Levi. I know you'll make a great father." He guides my chin up to look at him, then he slants his mouth over

Chapter: 104
Hailey's POV I think I broke him. He hasn't moved in almost a minute since I told him to touch me. Did I make a mistake? I was just in my feelings, and the massage didn't help me in any way. But I mean it, though. I want him to touch me—to fuck me. My voice of reasoning keeps telling me I might be making a mistake and getting more invested in this than I already am, eventually setting myself up for heartbreak. But in this moment, it feels right. I'll deal with the consequences later. I just want to quench the need in my lady parts right now. Though, from the looks of it, it might not be happening. I roll over, about to move to my side of the bed, but Levi pins me down by my waist. "Don't fucking go anywhere, Hailey," he growls. "Do you mean it? Do you want me to touch you?""Yes," I affirm, softly cupping his chin in my hand. "I want you to kiss me, to feel me... to fu—mmph!" My words are cut off when Levi crashes his lips into mine, kissing me. Caught off guard, takes a while

Chapter: One hundred and three
I nod. "Yes, lie on your back." I give her a pillow. "Put this under you so you don't get too uncomfortable." She takes it from me and does as I instruct."Where should I start?"She wiggles her legs. "Definitely my feet. I think they're swollen."I move down the bed, taking her leg and placing it on my lap. She squirms, but doesn't say anything. Good.I lift the leg to inspect her foot. It does look a bit swollen, but I don't think it's just from walking around all day. I remember one of those books said that pregnant ladies often get swollen feet. I wonder if she knows this. I choose not to tell her... in case she doesn't. I squirt a dollop of the cream into my hands, rub them together, then I run my palms from her ankles to the tips of her toes. I massage slow circular rubs on the arch of her foot, and she relaxes back into the bed. "You're almost good at this," she murmurs. I move to her ankle. I decide to spend more time there and on her heel, since most of the pressure whe

Chapter: One hundred and two
Levi's POV After spending the whole day with Ezra and Millie in his house, I finally return home. It's past dinner time, and if I'm lucky, mum will be asleep by now or working in her room, and we'll not have to have the conversation that's bound to happen eventually. I'd spent the whole day away, mentally preparing myself to talk to her, but on the drive back, I realized I'm not ready. Not yet. Hopefully, I will be tomorrow. Maybe.I open the front door and enter the house quietly, and I'm thankfully met with silence. The living room is empty, and all the lights in the house are off. Thank God. Having had dinner at Ezra's, I go straight to my room with the plan to do a little work, and then call it a night. I enter the room and turn on the light, but a sound from inside startles me. "Christ!" I yelp, my heart leaping out of my chest. "Turn off the light," Hailey groans from the bed. "And stop yelling." Hailey. Fucking hell. I forgot she'd be sleeping in my room."Couldn't help

Chapter: One hundred and one
"You can look around for anything you like. Dresses, shirts, skirts, trousers... any piece of clothing at all, we've got them," the sales rep says. "And if you need help deciding, I'll be here to assist you." I nod, my eyes sweeping over the racks of outfits. I spot a pretty dress on a rack by my side and pull it out, but I almost immediately return it when I see how large it is. Definitely not getting that. It'd fit someone who's double my size, and there'll still be space to fit a toddler. I'm not even exaggerating. "Are there any smaller sizes?" I ask with a nervous chuckle, careful not to annoy her. "I don't think this would size me yet." Or ever... hopefully. She looks almost amused as she says, "Of course. This way." She shows me to another rack, then takes out a pair of blue jeans and shows them to me. "These are maternity jeans. They're very comfortable and highly recommended by a lot of pregnant women... and doctors." She tugs the waistband lightly. "This one looks like

That changes after an encounter with a mysterious man, as her world begins to turn upsidedown. Adam Grayson, the next-in-line alpha of the skyline pack has been searching for his mate for eight years. His search comes to an end after a brief meeting with her, but claiming her poses a problem for him, so he begins making plans to get her. And with her stay in the pack house, new developments occur, which disrupts her past and threatens her future with Adam. Will they still come together after terrible secrets unfold? Or would their bond be shattered? A scream pierces the air, and I whirl around, my attention now on the crowd. The lady, Amanda, points a trembling finger at me. "A witch! We have a witch among us!" I shake my head. "What? No!" I cry. "I'm not a witch!" "Witch! Witch! Witch!" The chants rise from the crowd. I turn back to Adam. "Adam, tell them I'm not a witch. Adam please!"

Chapter: Fifty nine
Tammy's POV It's been a week since the full moon - and Adam and I were together. I haven't seen much of him since then. There have been some changes in the pack. Most of the people who fell into the curse-induced sleep have woken up. Only about five people have not woken up - of which Jackson is one. Thinking about it sends a sliver of dread down my spine. Because if he never wakes up, it'll be my fault. Aside from the people waking up, my dreams have become more frequent. And stranger. Other unusual things have been happening too.The day before yesterday, I was shaving my legs and accidentally scraped my skin. I felt the sting and saw the blood. But when I looked again, there was no injury. Not even a scratch. I would have convinced myself into believing I'd imagined it, if not for the other oddities that have been piling up lately. I also had a dream - or maybe a vision - about the handbook. It opened to a page, and I could clearly read what was written. I can't be sure I was

Chapter: Fifty eight
Alexander's POV A muffled groan escapes me as I pull at the chains binding my wrists, the cold metal biting into my skin. It's futile. No one has heard me in twenty years - I doubt today will be any different. Footsteps echo through the cave. Then, a familiar sound. "Tch tch tch." My captor clicks his tongue as he steps into the dim light. "What have I told you about making noise, Alex?" I don't respond. How can I, when I've lost my voice? He chuckles, low and cruel. "Oh, that's right. You can't speak."He moves closer, stretching out his hand. The moment his fingers hover near my skin, the searing pain begins. I should be used to it by now, but the agony never dulls. My mouth opens in a silent scream. "You know, I should have grown bored of this by now," he muses, watching me writhe. "But it still pleases me. Why is that, Alexan?" I glare at him, hatred burning in my eyes. It only amuses him. "How pitiful. The mighty Alpha of skyline pack... reduced to this. And yo

Chapter: fifty seven
Third person's POV "Arabella!" Freya's voice cut through the stillness of the woods.'Where has she gone now?' her mother thought, pushing into the forest, searching for her daughter. Her eyes darted between the towering trees, searching for her daughter. The girl always wandered off, and Freya always had to go looking for her. A sharp squeal rang out behind her, followed by the sound of laughter. Freya spun around, heart lurching. "Arabella, come back! It’s just a bug; it won’t hurt you!""No, go away! You're gross!" The voice was closer now, high-pitched and teasing.A second later, Arabella came barreling through the trees, her black curls bouncing with each step. She crashed into Freya’s legs, giggling, until she glanced up and saw the stern set of her mother’s jaw. Freya folded her arms. "What have I said about you running off into the woods?"Arabella’s laughter died. She clasped her hands in front of her, eyes cast downward. "Not to go too far."A rustling came from the

Chapter: Fifty six
Unknown person's POV I have been observing the girl Adam brought here - Tammy - for a while now, and none of them even suspect a thing. She isn't just a normal girl, no matter how much she tries to deny it. That night in the meeting, when she first arrived, I sensed something off about her. Something different. Her scent burned hot in my nose, too intense, too unnatural. At first, I thought it was just my heightened senses playing tricks on me. But when I saw her up close again, I knew it wasn’t. Even the people who woke up from the curse-induced sleep testified that they had seen her doing something to them. I can't believe that even when Adam was there to witness it firsthand, he still didn't try to investigate her properly. And when he eventually did, he convinced himself she was a Wanderer. He proves to be a fool at times. I'm incredibly glad that I've gotten somewhat close to them and I was able to get access to the book on Wanderers. And I'm also relieved that he wa

Chapter: Fifty five
Tammy's POV I sit up, intrigued by what he has to say. "It happened when I was seven," Adam begins, his voice quieter now. "Around the time the curse started and my mom died. I can't seem to remember the details, but I remember thinking about the ashes on every tree. I decided I liked the color grey that day. I couldn't like the color of the ashes because of the sad memories attached to it... so I picked the color closest to it.""Shouldn't that have been white?" I tease, a soft laugh escaping me. He chuckles. "Grey's probably felt more like me. A dull, heavy nothingness."His words settle between us, and I frown. Something about his story doesn’t sit right with me. "All those things happened at once?" I ask, my brows furrowing. "That's three questions, Tammy," he points out, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "And to answer your illegal question - I don't know. My memories from that time are a blur. I only remember what came after.""That seems odd, don't you think?"He ex

Chapter: Fifty four
Tammy's POV "What do you mean you can't find the key, Ophelia?" Adam's voice booms, vibrating through the thick, wooden door. He's asked her that, for might be the hundredth time, this morning. I'd woken to the sound of Adam's escalating shouts. Ophelia had so conveniently misplaced the key - my room key! And of course, there's no spare one around, because the keys were in a bundle.I fight to hold in a laugh as Adam's face flushes red, his frustration radiating off him. He's definitely tired of being trapped with me for so long. I don't blame him. After hours of forced proximity and a pretense of casual conversations, due to Ophelia's ingenious plan. We tried our best to make things less tense between us, but that has worn thin. And now, it's either Adam leaves, or we see how long we can ignore the obvious tension lingering between us. "Ophelia!" Adam roars, his fist slamming against the door again. "Find that key right now, or I swear you won't like what happens when I get out
