Shopping Time

I should return to Jakarta a week after my husband left, anyway. Even as I entered the house, I faced the fact that I was now alone. There are no more Farhan accompanying. No husband will ever stroke me or massage my back when I'm tired. More than that I am now a pregnant widow.

Lucky Fitri joined me. Especially because she's not married yet. So it's not bad. This house doesn't feel too empty. There's also my maid, Darni. I kept all things relating to Farhan in a safe deposit box. His clothes are mostly saved to give to someone in need. While some of our photographs still remain neatly framed on the wall.

Aided by Fitri, I am preparing to take up the post of CEO of Pravinhaya Corporation. There's so much I don't know about the company. Upstream, I'd learned. As I dove into the depths of the company's problems, I understood that it was not easy to run this company without Farhan's younger brothers and sister's hands.

A month after Farhan's death, I was ready to take over the CEO position The handover is in a week. As I progressed my pregnancy into four months. My belly started to grow. It meant I had to choose what clothes were comfortable for my pregnancy but still remain elegantly impressed and supporting my performance.

I opened the wardrobe. Look at them one by one. Which one I was hoping to wear to my office and my upcoming formal function. Turns out, none of my clothing items are suitable for these occation. I exhaled a restless breath.

 "Fitriii!" I called my sister-in-law.

"Yes, Sister. Why?" She asked, showing herself from behind the door.

"I don't have anything nice to wear to the office. See ... all just like these." I propped up the wardrobe door so Fitri could see inside it.

She laughed as she pulled one of my clothes out of the closet.

"Oh my God! Your clothes are all girly like these. Is it your taste or it was Farhan's taste? How come there's nothing formal suits? All just like daily clothes, casual clothes and  gowns?" She said in a humorous expression that made me frown.

"My work clothes, blazer, and other suits I seem to have left with someone else in need." I answered as I pushed one of my clothes back into the wardrobe.

"Eehm ... ok. We're shopping. Get clothes, shoes,  bags and anything needed for our CEO." She said with a wink.

"I think my savings are shrinking, Fit. It's used for burial and all the things related to mas Farhan's death. Not to mention I still have to prepare for the birthing fund later." My scar is calculating the amount of savings I have left.

"Hey, pretty madame CEO! Your savings and assets are now so huge  Do you Forgotten about it? That much money would be enough to buy a few clothes, shoes, and bags. Especially when your parents have prepared this for you." Answer Fitri as she pulls a black credit card out of her shirt pocket.

"I've been meaning to give you this card since yesterday. But I see you are  still busy. Well, let's go shopping. What are you waiting for?" She said as she put the credit card in my hand.

"Okay. I'm gonna go to get ready. You drive the car." I give the car's key to her.

"Okay." She smiled and immediately go out the room.

In amazement I hurried to pick out a baby pink  pregnant's mom blouse that I splashed with a violet cardigan. My feet seem more comfortable in these white flat shoes.

I see the reflection of my face in the mirror. With a flawless make-up and soft pink lipstick my face looks fresh. I don't have to make shading because my nose is so tall and straight. There is no need for blush to be too much because my cheeks and jaw lines are well oval-shaped. I just keep my a bit curly hair down. I smiled at my reflection. Gorgeous!

I heard horns honking. Apparently Fitri is ready. Okay. Ccme on! Time for shopping. After saying good-bye to my maid, I step into the pajero car which my late husband had purchased as a gift for our first wedding anniversary. Apparently he knew I would need a vehicle for mobility after his departure.

"Ok, lets go." I said to Fitri and nod to her.

Fitri and I went in and out of boutiques, shoes shops, and bags galleries  to find suitable supplies for my later job. Some shopping paper bags filled our hands.

After shopping it's better to eat while resting our legs. We decided to eat at the sea food reastaurant. I like prawns and crabs so much while Fitri love fish and squids. We choosed some menus. The waitress serve avocado juice, lime juice, and ice lemon tea when we were waiting for the foods

When we finished eating, we return home. Soon adzan maghrib was heard. I hurried in the shower to freshen myself. After that do prayers together with my beautiful and caring sister-in-law.

After prayer, I immediately began to try one piece of clothing and items that I had purchased earlier. I peeped myself at the mirror. Walk in front of the mirror with all sorts of styles. Soliloquy like a CEO. Inside my heart I laughed. Is this how it feels to be CEO? Well, considering my days of being busy with work, paper works,  meetings, handling clients, and any others things that related to my job.

Just Bismillah. I wish I could run and raise the legacy of my parents. Back I took off one of the clothes I was trying on. I'm wearing a batik pyjamas. I think this is the most comfortable clothes to wear at home.

I lay down my body in my king size bed in this bedroom. I think about so many memories of the deceased husband, I waited for my drowsiness to sleep. It seems like only yesterday. Now everything changes. Slowly slumbering over me. I don't know what time I fell asleep. Like a whisper I heard Fitri knocking on the bedroom door. But drowsiness overtook my eyes so it made me sound to the realm of dreams.
