Chapter Seven

The wedding reception was a garden party held upon a day of blue skies and sweetly rising heat. so palpable and real. Delicate white florals, plenty of lush greenery, light linens, decorated the garden. Unlike at the church earlier this morning, there weren't that many people here. Just close family and friends.

From distance I could see my dad having a conversation with Chris's dad. He was smiling from ear to ear. My eyes found my mom too among the little crowd and she looked just the same as my dad. She had a bright smile on her face too.

Looks like everyone here is happy but me.

"Hey." A masculine voice whispered into my ear from behind. I suddenly jumped up, startled. I turned around and standing before me was Chris. My heart jumped at the sight of him. I stared into his deep green eyes and for a moment I got lost in them. His gaze were too intense and I just couldn't hold it. I broke eye contact and took two steps back when I realized we were standing too close to each other.
