LOGINCeleste was an abandoned princess, and a wolf-less she-wolf who held no value to her father. Horres was the ruthless Alpha of the Iron Fang Pack-a ticking time bomb. As a peace offering to a rival pack, Celeste Holmes knew her life would be difficult as the Luna to an Alpha who would give anything to wipe her pack from the surface of the earth. Even then, she felt it was her ticket to escape her father’s clutches, yet nothing prepared her for the horror awaiting her. People said Alpha Horres was scary, but to Celeste, he was a demon. Alpha Horres Thorne had everything planned out for the daughter of his nemesis. The humiliation, pain, torture, and everything that could break her was set the moment her father thought of offering her to him. Horres enjoyed watching her bleed. Relishing her despair, and seeing the helplessness on her face gave him the energy to plot more schemes against her evil father. Everything was supposed to move perfectly, but there was a flaw in his plan. After that fateful night, he experienced every single pain he inflicted on her, just the way she felt it. Even her subconscious fears and insecurities were felt by him. Didn’t they say Celeste Holmes had no wolf? How then did she do it, or did Alpha Holmes’ daughter succeed in bewitching Horres while he was enjoying his time torturing her? Did he lose in his own game of chess? How would he take revenge when he couldn’t even hurt her anymore? Was he supposed to just surrender and love her now? What about his grievances?

I stood in my study, waiting impatiently for the team to arrive. My second beta scrambled to sort out the messages delivered by the messenger ravens, but he still didn’t find what we wanted.
Our major concern was the whereabouts of our delegation.
I kept this meeting between the two of us because I received a distress call that rogues had ambushed the delegation sent to the Moon Howler Pack.
How could rogues roam so freely within their pack's borders like that? The Alpha wanted to take me for a fool, huh? I bet he got impatient playing in the shadows.
This should have been a simple gathering of Alphas, as ordered by the Alpha King. I never showed my face at such meetings because I was always sick at the scheduled times. I never gave a fuck about whether they believe my excuses or not, but my first beta always attended on my behalf.
I ordered my men to return, but they still haven’t sent any response. I was particularly restless because it was an open secret that I was sworn enemies with the Moon Howler Pack. I wouldn’t have sent a delegation there if I could openly defy the Alpha king.
“Alpha, a raven just came in.” The head guard rushed into the study with a folded sheet of paper in his hand. My blood boiled at the mere sight of it. That old fart sent a message instead of my people responding to me.
Was he keeping them hostage or what?
[Bam!]
I bumped my fist on the table, not bothering about the scattered items or the trembling guard.
My beta looked toward me, a thousand questions on his mind, yet he wouldn’t dare to ask.
Just like he came, the guard retreated as quickly.
“That old fart wants to send a tribute to atone for the warriors we lost in his borders. He thinks one person from the Moon Howler Pack is worth more than the eight warriors he murdered in his land? If he wants war, he will get just that!”
I was ready to eradicate the Moon Howler Pack for good. Their existence had been an eyesore for the longest time. Now, I would take them all out in one fell swoop, and there wouldn’t be anyone to stand in my way..
“Alpha, please reconsider. This is clearly a trap, my lord. Don’t play right into his hands. P… Please…” My second beta made sense, but that wasn’t what I wanted. I lost my men, and all I was to get were a few gifts and… a damn daughter of the devil.
“My lord, if this was plotted between Alpha Holmes and the Alpha king, then there should be more at play than they’re letting on.” I couldn’t believe my ears. He fought side by side with me in the Great War and never seemed like a coward. What could be the problem now?
“Oxley, are you scared to fight?” I couldn’t think of any other reason. I was prepared to pay back the Moon Howler Pack for decades. “Why the heck would I need to care about the Alpha king now of all times?”
“My lord, the message states that Holmes wishes to offer his favorite daughter. She has the alpha’s blood running through her veins. A princess at that. Why not allow her to be the temporary entertainment you need?”
Hmmph! Interesting!
“I haven’t heard from my first beta and gamma. I don’t know what state they’re in right now, and all you can say is to allow a daughter of that bastard to warm my bed? Does the Iron Fang Pack lack women so much?” The heck!
“My apologies, my lord. Please, permit me to explain.” He’d better!
The killing intent that filled the room was enough to make my second beta go to his knees. He knew for a fact that one wrong word, and I could snap his neck.
“My lord, he wants to plant a spy in our pack. However, we could accept her and make her wish she had never stepped into our borders. Stepping on his favorite child would be just like stepping on the man himself. Besides, you wouldn’t need any reason to hold her hostage, since she would come as a peace offering. We could even get some first-hand infrmation from her.”
I began to think deeply about his words; after all, using my enemies’ weapons against them was my best ammunition. I guess I was just too angry about my warriors to think properly.
“Hmmm! You have a point.” I drummed my fingers on the table, finally taking a seat after standing for hours.
“Your hesitation to fight would make Alpha Holmes believe that he had already won. He would think you were too scared to act, which would make him act more recklessly.” That’s true. I have been attacking him in the shadows, causing him a lot of losses, which he never failed to retaliate at the least chance he got.
This wouldn’t be a bad idea, after all.
“He would think I fear him too much to act against him, huh?” Tsk! Nice one. Oxley, Oxley, Oxley, ever the strategist.
Oxley nodded and rose to his feet when I signaled him to do so.
“That’s a good point you made, Oxley. In that case, round up all the other spies and execute them secretly. Alpha Holmes should hear about the bodies within the next two hours.”
Beta Oxley nodded with so much enthusiasm that I couldn’t help shaking my head. Even I had my hands itching to snap their heads for the longest time. They thought I never found out about them infiltrating my pack all these years. Tsk!
Oxley was about to step out of the room when something suddenly clicked in my mind.
“Leave two spies.” We’ll need them to report back to Alpha Holmes, and Oxley understood that perfectly. “Make sure one is poisoned. He can die in his pack later.”
He had a smile that made it clear to me that he understood the task.
“As you wish, Alpha.” That said, Oxley hurried out of the study, leaving me to my thoughts.
“I accept your peace offering.” With those words scribbled on the paper, I folded it and tied it to the feet of my messenger raven.
I watched the bird flap its wings in the air, heading toward the direction of the Moon Howler Pack.
Alpha Holmes had taken too much from me, yet he still wanted more. Hmpph!
“The stage has been set, Alpha Holmes. May the best man win.”
Celeste I didn't know if it was my fearful look or something else, but both Beta Oxley and Slater turned toward the direction my gaze was fixed. She looked totally battered, almost unrecognizable. There were scars all over her face and body, with blood trailing down her forehead. Well, through it all, I could still tell, just like them, that the person who was bleeding from her hands after supposedly hitting the railings for so long was Gamma Rhea. She just rested her head between two iron bars, breathing like every breath was her last. However, she also didn’t fail to glare at me as if she wanted to tear me to shreds. I shouldn’t have thought about that, but the memory of her last visit to the dungeon got me so pissed. I was no saint, so I decided to mess with her as well. At least I knew my limits, something she clearly didn’t. The other crazy wolves began to bang the iron bars when they realized we were paying attention to the others and ignoring them. They wanted to fight, b
Celeste“No. The beta is Alpha Horres’ right-hand man, Lyra. If he finds out I have a wolf… We’re both dead.” Lyra’s disagreement was felt strongly in our mind-link. I already fed Beta Kylie the medicine as she suggested. “If you don’t heal him now, no one leaves here alive.” Huh? Lyra didn’t sound like she was joking.I glanced around the shelter at that moment, already panicking. The situation was truly getting out of hand. Many more infected wolves had their eyes turning different shades of red. Some already began attacking the people beside them, without considering who they were. It was as if they suddenly became mere shells of their former selves. “Soulbane has different effects on different people. The beta possesses a very strong willpower. The poison starts eating deep into his soul as soon as it attacks. He would get out of control if we didn't save him now.” Oh, my goodness! “Do we really need to expose the truth to the second most dangerous person in the pack?”I alrea
Celeste“Madam Zorah, what can we do now? Everything is getting out of hand.” As I got closer, I heard Maita’s devastated voice, guilt washing over my being. I nearly escaped from the pack without thinking about this duo. How could I be so ungrateful? “I don’t know, Maita. This is strange. I haven’t seen anything like it before. I don’t know what to do.” They both sounded so broken and terrified. “I do.” I stood beside Madam Zorah, my eyes already scanning the spread of herbs in the room. I could feel the two women, young and old, fixing a burning gaze on me, but my attention was already on the herbs. I needed to find what Lyra described. “Are these all the herbs you brought?” I continued scanning the place, even though my question was directed to Madam Zorah. “Th… There’s more.” Both she and Maita were absolutely in sync because the remaining herbs were presented by Maita—even before Madam Zorah could recover from the shock. How was I to find what Lyra wanted when all these h
CelesteCould this be a new poison I was yet to know about? I could boast of discovering any poison and coming up with the antidote, but this... However, if I didn’t even discover that I was poisoned, then Lyra was right. If not for a nameless poison, why else would my body be on the verge of breaking apart for no reason? I kept feeling heart-wrenching pain at different parts of my body, only for her to say I was poisoned.Such a humbling moment. It felt as though someone had given me a hard punch in those spots earlier. However, I was right here. I haven't stepped out of this shelter since my arrival. How could someone hit me here without my knowledge? What sort of poison was this?Guess I could accept that someone used a poison I’d never come across and couldn’t even detect. What did Lyra even mean by it shouldn’t have appeared here? Could it have some hidden, devastating abilities? “Lyra, do you mean they had the same poison that was used on me?” If the other pack members were
Celeste“Ssshhhhh!” I couldn’t control my trembling body as I grabbed onto the alpha, hoping he wouldn’t throw me off the table in anger. I begged and begged, but all he told me was that I should be silent. Even then, he didn’t withdraw his c*ck. Did he really plan to torture me again tonight? Co
CelesteI was the one who seduced him. I totally begged him to f*ck me this time around,, swearing I wouldn’t shy away from any punishment he had for me, yet, here I was-pleading for him to have mercy. “Shit! Alpha… Please… Have… Mercy, Alpha… Aaaahhh! F*ck!!!”Well, the more I screamed for mercy,
Celeste He stopped. He really stopped, but why did this chill in my bones become more alarming than it was when he first walked in?“What did you just say?” Alpha Horres spoke in such a low voice that I feared I may not be able to breathe properly if he took a single step closer. How was I to… W
Celeste When I closed my eyes, the warmth from the water relaxed my muscles greatly, but this feeling… I just didn’t know how to explain it. I wouldn’t be wrong to say it was sweet. I was thrilled to have been treated with respect for the first time-that too, from a man who hated my guts, just bec
