Samantha arrived early for work.
"Oh! you're early today Samantha. Good morning. Would you like some coffee?" Kelsey asked offering her a cup of hot coffee. "Thanks I woke up early that's why I'm here early. By the way Kelsey has Sir CEO arrived yet?" She asked taking the coffee from Kelsey's hand. "Not yet he usually arrives at 8:00 am is everything okay?" Kelsey replied and curious. "Oh! everything's fine. Just wondering" She said casually. "Let's wait for our team to gather and start the meeting about the project" Kelsey suggested. "Sounds good" She replied, focusing on her computer work. [CEO arrival] As Yzak arrived at the office the employees greeted him in unison. "Good morning sir." "Secretary how's the project I assigned to the marketing department coming along?" he asked. "They're still working on it sir" the secretary replied. "Alright, then. Tell them to finish it within three days and tell miss Samantha to come to my office to report on the project's progress now" he instructed. "Yes, sir" the secretary replied. [Meeting with the CEO] After arriving at his office he removed his black blazer suit and sat down at his desk facing his computer. A few minutes later the door opened and Samantha entered standing in front of him. "Good morning, sir" she greeted looking directly at him. He gazed at her eyes with his expression serious. "Report on the project I've assigned to your team" he said. "Yes, sir" She replied, handing the files on him about containing the project's details. As She reported, he couldn't help but look at her face. He was captivated by her confidence and professionalism. After an hour she finished her report and he was impressed. "Alright, Go back to work and prepare your team for this project" he said in a cold tone. "Y-yes, sir. Thank you" She replied, seemingly unsure of what to expect. She felt nervous wondering why he hadn't mentioned the previous night's incident. "A-and by the way, sir CEO I'm sorry about what happened last night. I got an emergency call and didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Sorry, sir" she explained. "Forget it. You don't need to explain. Go back to work" he replied, his expression still serious. "Yes, sir. Thank you" She said before leaving the office. After the meeting She returned to her team at the marketing department area. "Really, Samantha? The CEO liked our project?" Kelsey asked excitedly. "Ssh, quiet down Kelsey. We're at work. And yes he said we need to prepare for this project" She replied. "Well, congratulations to us and our leader Samantha! Keep it up, Samantha. We count on you" Dave said her coworker in department. [Yzak's Reaction] After Samantha left his office he smiled impressed by her skills. "Samantha Lynn, you've grown up now. I never thought you'd work at my company" he said to himself smirking as he looked at her application form. After lunch, the marketing team continued working on the project assigned by the CEO. While facing her computer her phone suddenly rang. She checked the caller ID and saw Eldrick's name. "Eldrick" she whispered, reading the text message. "I'm glad mom is okay!" She smiled, remembering he's promise to text her about her mother's condition. The workday ended early and She headed home. On her way her phone rang again. After reading the text message she quickly entered her apartment dropped her belongings and rushed out to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. When she arrived at the park she saw her mother waiting for her looking happy and healthy. She ran towards her mother and hugged her tightly. "Mom" she said, embracing her mother after a long time. "Oh, dear Samantha, I miss you so much" her mother replied. As She hugged her mother she noticed Eldrick standing aside watching them. She released her mother from the hug and turned to face him. "Thank you for helping and bringing Mom to see me" She said, bowing her head in front of him to show her gratitude. "Your mom wanted to see you and it made her happy" he replied. She spent an hour with her mom in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park a rare opportunity for them to see each other. Due to her stepfather's strict rules they had to keep their meetings a secret. The next day, She focused on her work with her team in the marketing department. With the project deadline approaching they worked diligently often staying late in the building. After two days of intense work Kelsey said, "We're almost done. Just a little more and tomorrow we'll report to Sir Yzak. We need to be prepared." Kelsey leaned back in her chair and spun around. Dave chimed in, "Keep it up, guys! We can do this!" He raised his hand in encouragement. The team cheered and She couldn't help but smile. She felt lucky to have such supportive teammates who didn't pressure her and made work enjoyable. "Well good luck tomorrow guys. Good luck, Samantha. We can do this!" Kelsey exclaimed standing up and cheering everyone on.Yzak's grip on the car door tightened. "Are you afraid of me?" he asked. "N..no sir," she stammered, her heart racing suddenly as he looked closer at her. "I sense you're shaking. Am I a beast that you'd fear?" he asked seriously, his gaze fixed intently on her eyes. Why was he asking if she was afraid of him? What did he want to know? "I...I didn't say it, sir..." "Then what do you think I am?" He was still serious, his eyes never leaving hers. She was at a loss for words, unsure how to respond or what he wanted from her answer. "I...I'm going home, sir. Thank you for driving me here," she said, attempting to exit the car. But he suddenly pulled her back inside and closed the door. "W..what do you want?" she asked, feeling uneasy. She needed to leave; she was getting a strange feeling from him. The way he looked at her made her feel like she was in danger, like he could devour her with those scary, piercing eyes. She was terrified. She was stunned when he
"Good morning, guys," she greeted "Oh, good morning, Samantha. What happened to you? You look so stressed, like you haven't slept in a week," Kelsey said with concern. "I couldn't sleep well last night." "You should have some coffee to wake yourself up." Kelsey handed her a cup. "Thank you." She then sat down at her table. Since she didn't get enough sleep, she couldn't help but close her eyes, feeling sleepy. She eventually fell asleep at her desk, forgetting all about her work. "Samantha, Samantha, wake up" Kelsey said, rousing her. She woke up, suddenly remembering she was at work, and quickly lifted her head. "I forgot I was at work," she said. "I woke you up because you're going to break your neck sleeping like that. Go sleep on the sofa instead." "I'm sorry, Kelsey. I forgot about my work. I'll get back to it," she said, opening her computer. "Don't bother. The work today isn't difficult anyway; Sir Yzak didn't give us any projects. Just go to the sofa," K
"Sam, Sam, are you okay? You seem lost in thought" Mary called out to her. "Ah, y-yes, I'm fine," she stuttered in response. "I'm done changing." She quickly entered the changing room, still preoccupied with what Yzak had said. Why did she feel this way whenever he was near? Her heart would race uncontrollably. As she was in the changing room, she struggled to zip up the back of her costume attire, which had been changed without her knowledge. "What's going on? Why did they change the attire? It fit me perfectly last time I was here. And now I can't reach the zipper in the back" she muttered to herself. Since Mary had already gone to the riding area, she was hesitant to call out for help. Just as she was trying to reach the zipper, the door to the changing room suddenly opened. "Who's there?" she started to say, but before she could finish, she felt someone grasp her arms. She noticed that the hands were masculine and couldn't see the person's face since her back wa
"I'm doing okay, managing well. It's vacation time, so I decided to come here to the Philippines to see you" Mary said with a smile. "Really? That's good then." After a few hours of talking at the Daily Grind Cafe, Mary invited Samantha to go with her. "Where are we going?" She asked. "Just come with me," Mary replied. She immediately got into Mary's car, and they drove off. Samantha had known Mary since high school; they were classmates, but they took different courses. In their senior year, She chose Business Accountancy, while Mary pursued teaching, which falls under HUMSS. They grew apart in college when Mary studied abroad for better teaching opportunities, and She remained in the Philippines until she graduated. "Wait, this place looks familiar" Shemurmured, looking around. "Really? Have you been here?" Mary asked. As they entered the area, She noticed the name on the board: Equestrian Riding Area. "I was here before with Sir Yzak. How does Mary know this pla
As she looked down, she noticed his black derby shoes were incredibly close to her feet. "Samantha" he whispered weakly in a cold voice. She raised her head, and her eyes met his directly. Her heart pounded so fast. His handsomeness was intoxicating, especially his cold gaze and his blue eyes. While looking into his eyes, she didn't realize he had already placed his hand on her stomach. "Samantha, is your stomach okay? Did you take the medicine?" he asked. She was startled and suddenly came back to herself, feeling his hand on her stomach. She looked down at her stomach and saw his hand. Her ears immediately felt hot from the sensation. What was he doing? Why was he touching my stomach? Was he checking my stomach? "Ah...y-yes, of course" she stammered. stepping back slightly. He felt her trembling from extreme nervousness. He quickly removed his hand from her stomach, took some file papers, and handed them to her. "Here, review these files and once you're done, r
As the day drew to a close, Samantha's coworkers headed home, but she stayed behind in the marketing office to wrap up her work. Once the building emptied, she made her way to the first floor to wait for him. There, she spotted Yzak standing by the entrance. "You're late, Miss Samantha" he said, striding towards the car and she followed silently. "I'm sorry, sir. I was finishing up my tasks" she stammered, feeling uneasy. At the clinic store, they quickly purchased the medicine. When she saw a vendor selling chocolate cupcakes, nostalgia washed over her, reminding her of happy times with her mother. "I miss you, Mom," she whispered. Yzak noticed her gaze and offered, "Would you like some cupcakes?" She refocused and replied "The medicine is enough, thank you." Yet, he took her hand and led her to the vendor. Yzak ordered, "One box of cupcakes." She was perplexed. Hadn't she already declined? Just then, a voice called out, "Samantha." She turned to see E
