Cathy’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing she noticed was the darkness.

And she wasn’t alone.

For a second nothing but fog filled her head.

Then...

Everything came right back to her; the feeling of another presence with her at the club, the wild beat of her heart…the men coming out of the wall.

“I see you are awake,” a voice said.

She jerked her head in the direction of the voice, the movement caused something to clink, and only then did she realize that she was standing and her hands were tied up to the ceiling in chains. She had been in that position for…an hour or two? Her hands and feet were so numb she couldn’t feel them. Her skin felt uncomfortable and sticky.

She tried to summon her powers to help her see and winced when the effort caused pain like a sharp knife to run through her head.

Someone chuckled. “Your powers won’t work here, dog.”
