"Who are you kidding? She will never come. I read her file," Timothy said, looking over the desk.Salem leaned forward before standing at his full height of 6’ 3" inches. His hand moved along the collar until a finger caught in his blue tie, pulling it away from his throat. He wasn't used to wearing suits and it showed. "I just want a chance at her. I think she would be an asset to the team.""There is no doubt she would. Hell, I think we should have approached her while she was in recovery, but that was an error on Blake's behalf. He didn't see the potential in her. But someone who makes more money than you or I does. And she already has medical training, and it won't hurt. I will tell you what, you get her to come to an interview and I'll owe you one."Owe you one... The silent thought danced across Salem's features as he settled in the booth of a local Waffle House. The place was empty exce~~~Present-dayIvory stretched her arms over her head as her eyes fought against the encroaching light from a break in the curtains. There was a moment of confusion as her pre-awakening brain tried to justify the placement of the window. She ended up rolling on her side and that is when her brain became fully functional. It registered a hard but warm body in bed with her. Fear pumped through her veins as she skittered back and nearly tumbled off the bed. If Cullen hadn't reached out at the last second she would now be looking up at him from the hardwood floor.“Are you okay, my love?” Cullen asked, bringing her to his chest and giving her a good looking over. He had been asleep when her frantic movement woke him. He saw her spilling over the edge of the bed and his wolf pushed forward. Now with her in his arms, he began to breathe and loosen his tight grip, much to his wolf’s protest.Ivory was a bright red color from her embarrassment. Her palm moved over her face and trie
~~~ “Aaron,” Cullen said as his beta walked into his office. “I heard from Alpha Brody James of the Crescent Moon Pack that Alpha Jerry Richards from the Davis Pack has been arrested. He will arrive here later this afternoon. I need you to get with Kyle and Charles to have the holding cell ready for him and make sure that Marcus’ men are ready. I want the trial to begin at 8 AM tomorrow.” He set a file on the corner of his desk. “Carla and Ivory will be helping with the visiting Lunas and getting our guests settled in the pack house,” Cullen added. “And let me know when Hope Howard arrives. I would like to speak to her in private.” Aaron nodded his understanding as he took a seat and grabbed the file. After withdrawing a small notebook and pen from his pocket he made several notes. His eyes lifted at the mention of Ivory. “How is Luna Ivory this morning?” His question held true concern. “She is faring better than I could hope for. While she is young, she has a great un
~~~ “Alpha Cullen,” Valic said as he walked into the office. When the alpha nodded to a chair at the front of the thick desk he had a seat and waited until Cullen looked up from the computer screen. “I trust our friends are comfortable,” Cullen asked as he held a pen in his hand and thumped it on the desktop. It was clear the Alpha had something weighing on his mind. “Quite,” Val said with a nod. “He spoke to both lawyers and is now settled in his cell. I informed the other council enforcers no one is to approach him without my permission. And no one will get that permission unless Marcus, Anthony, and you all order me. I have a gut feeling that Alpha Jerry wasn't working alone and since I don't have the higher pay grade I'm staying away.” “He wasn't working alone,” Cullen said, dropping the pen on the desktop. “I heard from Fixer Anderson that there will be a surprise witness arriving in the morning.” He blew out a chest full breath. “This is turning into a headache.” “
My apologies again, I am still recovering from this virus. Not it's not that one, but the nasty flu. I will try to resume updates as soon as I can. Thank you for reading and supporting me. Do not forget to vote and leave a comment if you are feeling one. While I am recovering let me pose a few questions about what you the reader like?Which supernatural creature is your favorite? Is there something you like and want more background information on? Other then Werewolves and Werecats which type of Were would you like to see? Leave me a comment and I will answer.
I have finally recovered. It took nearly six weeks to finally be well enough to rejoin the land of the living. Thank you for your understanding.I plan to restart posting/updating the story this weekend as I need a day to wake my muse up after she has been sick with me.Please leave me comments about how you think this story is progressing. Let me know if anything is confusing I need to clarify. I know the injection of the vampire aspect seemed out of place, but it was done to introduce them as the kids were found.Also in this universe, the term druid is a generic term for mage, magic users, wizards, and other magic wielders.
~~~ Valic had stepped outside to take a call from the Council. It seemed that Jerry’s pack had petitioned the council to postpone the trial a day so new witnesses could be flown in. Alpha Marcus Ryle had looked over the new evidence the witness was claiming and ruled it out. The dates were two weeks after the attack on Paradise Falls Pack and Beta David and Alpha John’s death. He was about to return to the pack house and hunt down his mate when his cock and nose twitched at the scent in the air. His wolf pushed forward. Mark mate. Now. He growled trying to break free of Valic’s hold. “Soon my friend,” he grinned as he walked into the pub. It didn't take him long before his eyes landed on his prize. Hope was leaning over the pool table, lining up a shot. Her well-defined heart-shaped ass was in the air. He could see several other men and one woman checking out her long legs. A growl suddenly erupted from his chest, silencing the pub. Hope didn't have to look to know that
It was just after six in the morning when Ivory rolled over and her hand landed on an empty place. The sheet was still warm and Ivory realized Cullen had just vacated the bed. She woke up when he joined her an hour before having been up most of the night with pack business, and in two hours he would be overseeing the trial. She lifted her head from the black silk pillow and looked across the room at him. “Do you have time to shower with me?” Her voice was soft. She could see the stress etching his eyes.Cullen was looking in the closet, trying to decide which shirt to wear. Did he wear the white button-down or the blue one? He was the hosting Alpha. Normally he would be the chairman, but since part of his pack were witnesses he stepped down and allowed the other Alpha Council members to take charge. His duty was to provide protection and support. The stern look that had been clinging to his features shifted when he heard her tender voice. “There is nothing I want more tha
~~~ If Kathy was affected by Jerry’s outburst she hid it well. She simply walked around the desk and approached Alpha Cullen. “Alpha I can agree to give the defense a moment to discuss this new witness.” Cullen nodded and mind linked with Aaron. “I am going to push the hearing back thirty minutes. Please double the guard on Miss Jones and the kids. I do not trust Alpha Richards to make an attempt on them. Also, have Beta Nick from the Davis pack ready to speak.” Aaron was just walking into the packhouse when he got the message from Cullen. “Of course, Alpha”. He responded as he continued through the long hallway that led to the basement stairs. Beta Nick was still an unknown in this case. When he was brought in, he refused to talk to anyone other than Alpha Chase Parker of the Eufaula pack. Aaron asked Oscar to do a background check on the two men. It was discovered they were half-brothers though they were not raised together. Aaron walked to the small holding room. T
