Not Strong Enough

Serena pov

My heart stopped beating, he was choosing another she-wolf over me, not just any wolf, Alex...My twin? She has always wanted to get rid of me. And now she becomes Luna? For heaven's sake, she's my twin, what's in her that's not in me?

Becoming a rogue wouldn't be so bad. It's better than having to see them together every day. It would kill me.

'Sea?' I called my wolf. 'Are you good?'

'No, Serena.' she whined. 'I'm not good, I'm in pain' 

'I know, and I am sorry

'Ralph keeps fighting the bond. Because his wolf wants us. Black wants us.'

I felt her going back in my mind as I couldn't respond. She needs to rest. 

Ralph ran nervously in search of me. 

"Black!," he called his wolf. "Can you feel our mate? Is she okay?" 

"No." He growled at him. "Her wolf is in pain, my mate is in pain, I can't feel her. She retracted far in mate's mind. You're a big fool, Ralph." black growled. 

"If my mate is not in good shape, you will be sorry for what you just did."

"I ignored and pushed him to the back of my mind. That's not what I need, he is an animal, obviously he reacts on instinct. And his instinct is to make sure his mate was okay. I have to be the one to think here."

Miles saw Ralph running towards him, then yelled.

"Come on, Ralph. Follow her smell. Do you know where she is?" He growled.

Ralph followed my scent and walked towards the forest, he told Miles where to follow based on the intensity of my smell.

 Suddenly Ralph stopped, and Miles got curious.

"Is there a problem?" He asked. 

"Her scent just stopped, my heart stopped beating. It's just like She disappeared. Her scent is completely gone. Fuck!"

"Relax, who knows she could have used masking spray." 

He took a deep breath to calm his nerves. "If anything would happen to her I would feel it."

"Serena!" Miles yelled. 

"Black? Ralph called his wolf. "I know you're mad at me right now, but you really need to try and talk to her wolf, I mean… your mate. Tell her to come back. To me, I mean to us."

"I'll do it." Black growled. "Just have this in mind, I'm not doing this because of you, I just want my mate to be safe and fine."

"black agreed to look for her." He told Milles.

"You know, I don't know what's wrong with you, one minute you're cold towards her, the next minute you want her. Pray nothing happens to her, you will regret this. Alpha or not." Miles growled at him.

Ralph stared closer at him 'he is the only person that can say words like that to me, if he wasn't my beta and best friend, he would be dead by now.'

"You know? You Act as though you love her more than I do." Ralph said. 

"Well if you actually love her as you claim, where is she now? You pushed her away. The one person who should love her uncontrollably chose her twin over her."

 "I explained this to you, she keeps running from me. She's really not strong for the Luna position, At least not now. I need someone who's a bit stronger and Alex is that person."

"Yeah, you were willing to throw away the goddess' gift, just because you think she's not up to the task."

"It's enough," I said. 

Ralph turned towards the sound he heard. He saw me and suddenly he gave me a huge hug, I was overwhelmed with surprise. 'is this the same person that rejected me some minutes ago?' I wanted to hug him back so badly but I couldn't bring myself to, as I could remember his rejection. Miles was equally shocked as he came to take me away from Ralph.

"I-i'm sorry, so sorry…I didn't mean to.. just I was worried about you." Ralph said awkwardly.

Miles held my hands and pulled me closer to him, then touched my face to see if I was fine. I started feeling weird. I mean, why is he so caring all of a sudden? I turned to steal a glance at Ralph's beautiful face. And I saw a jealous expression. 'was he feeling jealous?' I asked myself. 

"Don't do that ever again please, you got me really worried." Ralph's expression changed. Miles saw it and decided to correct himself.

 "Umm...I mean, you got us worried." He said.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. "I didn't mean to…" I turned my eyes to Ralph's direction and saw his stare… I didn't feel comfortable 

 "Um… Miles, could you please take me away from this place.. please?" I said with no emotion on my face. 

"Sure." He said and held my hands as we both left Ralph. 

"Words cannot express how I feel right now. I mean why is he touching my mate that way?"

"The one you rejected?" Black replied to him.

We got to a spot and decided to sit and talk for a while.

"I never thought I would feel this much pain and survive. My heart broke in a million pieces the moment he mentioned those words, I don't think I would ever be able to put them back together. Nothing hurts like your mate's rejection. My entire body was trembling. I thought I could endure the worst pain life would throw at me...but this, this is something I don't think I'll be able to survive." I said as I felt warm tears rolling down my cheeks. 

"Shhhh… don't say that, it's not the end of the world for you. There are many wolves who love you… and I could be one of them you know." He said looking deep into my eyes. I didn't know what he meant by that.

I just smiled.

"Thanks a lot," I replied. 

I sighed.

"My mate doesn't want me. My twin thinks I'm too weak to be Luna 

He rejected me. And will have a new Luna. Then I'll have to see them together every day. 

Alex will surely rub this on my face. Do you think I'm not good enough?" I asked. 

"You are...It's his lost." Miles said and placed his hand on my shoulder trying to comfort me.

"You know… Ralph has no idea what he just lost."

He chuckled.

  "You have no idea how beautiful you are. Any wolf would kill to have you as their mate." He said, staring at my face and then down to my feet, Making me feel awkward since it's just two of us here.
