A Son For My Rejected Mate

 Serena's pov

As I walked slowly toward the cafeteria, I could feel my heart beating nervously. I have no idea why I'm feeling nervous because I have been perfectly fine the whole day.

    Could it be because I'm just hungry? My stomach keeps rumbling non-stop. But why is my heart beating so fast if it's my stomach that needs my attention? 

  I ignored my thoughts and continued to walk inside, upon getting into the cafeteria, a strong scent of sandalwood and mint hit my nostrils. My wolf instinct was suddenly aroused 

 At the right corner, close to the window of the cafeteria, my eyes met a pair of charming brown eyes.

 His eyes were as wide as mine I can't really tell but I think he was kinda surprised, he seems more shocked than I am, I felt nervous as his glowing eyes were staring intensely at me. 

  I abruptly stood up from my seat, and without hesitating, I walked towards the backdoor of the cafeteria. He got up and tried to stop me, but I was too shy and nervous to say a word to him.

 And there, I left the restaurant. But wait. Oh no, is the Alpha my fated mate?

 I muttered a low 'wow' but he's seeing my twin, it only explains why he was shocked when he realized I was his mate.

 heard before that wolves have a strong sense of smell towards their mate. Now that his smell is engraved in my heart and nose, I can immediately tell if he's close by. 

I don't know if I should be happy or extremely sad. Yes I'm happy I got to know who my fated mate is, and it turns out to be Ralph, I have always had a huge crush on him, ever since I was a little girl, even before he became the Alpha of our pack 

 After the stunt I pulled at the cafeteria, I don't even know how to face him, and boy I'm really excited, I'll be Luna soon, to the man that's always been in My heart and head. But how about Alex? I see her around him almost every time I try to talk to him, I kinda get jealous at times, but there was nothing I could do. Hopefully, she doesn't get mad at me with this news.

I carefully got out of bed, I walked to the bedroom to brush my teeth and take my bath.

When I was done, Alex was leaning at my door entrance. 

My eyes widened with shock as I could see some changes in my twin's body… 'Could she be pregnant?' I wondered. She rarely talks to me, but I don't mind.

"Good evening Alex" I greeted. And then she gave me this 'get out of my sight expression.' but it's fine, I'm used to it already. She seems a little calm this evening. The Alex I know would have yelled at me or something, I'm guessing she hasn't gotten the news yet.

 I got up and walked quietly to my room, I lay on my bed and closed my eyes, but I couldn't sleep, as the thought of my twin's body, she looks kinda fat, could Ralph be the… 

  No, he can't, he's mine now, I hope Alex doesn't tear me apart when she finds out.

The next morning, Lara was in my room. Reasons for her being here, I had no idea Lara is 22, she treats me more like a sister than a friend even if she is one year older than me. People think we are sisters as we were always together. 

"Hey good morning," she said and smirked. as she tried to wake me up. "It must really feel good to sleep as long as you do" 

"You really think so?" I said and grabbed a mug from the table. 

"Could it be the reason you keep getting more pretty by the day?" Lara asked. 

"Well I think you're as pretty as I am" I tried to divert Lara's attention, so Alex doesn't overhear our conversation and gets pissed about someone praising me. 

She chuckled, "Have you seen your face in the mirror? You're way prettier than any other girl in our pack, even your twin Alex.

 I could feel my face burning with embarrassment as I playfully rolled my eyes and poured coffee into my mug. 

"I think you should stop comparing your friend to others, especially me. I'm way prettier than both of you would ever dream of." Alex said as she stood behind the door entrance. 

  "It doesn't matter Alex, you both have the same fac–" 

"Hold it, you don't talk when I'm talking." Alex interrupted Lara and got her really pissed.

"You don't tell me what to do." I think it's you who actually needs as much beauty sleep as you can get." She replied with a piercing stare. 

  "You tiny little bitch!" Alex said through her teeth. "don't be In a hurry to leave, I'll become Luna soon, and I'll be more than glad to exile you." 

 I was shocked at what Alex said 'Luna?' she still has the thought of becoming Luna. Jeez, there's indeed trouble for me if she finds out. At this point I thought they were going to fight… luckily Alex Left. 

 "Is this what you put up with?" Lara asked but I just ignored her question.

 "For real, Your twin wants to be Luna? Speaking of Luna, My bother, Miles said the Alpha has something to announce."

  My heart pounded at her last words." 

I swallowed the lump in my throat as I faked a smile "I-is that so? That's good" I said nervously. 

"So come on, let's go together," 

I shook my head in disapproval "I'm good, I would rather not go. 

"Uh?... No way, you're coming with me, or do you think I don't see how you stare at the Alpha?

"Shhh… someone might hear you," I said as I took a glance at the door.

 She chuckled. "It's obvious you're head over heels in love with him." She said but again I just ignored her and before I could even protest, Lara pulled me out of my room. She's a little stronger than I am so I couldn't fight back even if I wanted to. In the end, I gave in and allowed myself to be pulled 

I don't know what's more terrifying about this announcement, the fact that my twin is pregnant but I choose not to believe who's responsible.

Or the fact that she might end up hating me for life, thinking I stole her position as Luna.
