Chapter 23: One More Time

Morning came and the three prepared to set off early so that Callum could go to work on time. Though it would have been better if he spent a little more time with Caleb, the child insisted that his father must go to work and not neglect it for him.

While they were on the road, Bea looked at Caleb who was sound asleep at the back. Was he even comfortable sleeping in that position? She should have inclined his chair more if she knew that he would sleep on the road.

“Can we hang out again together tomorrow?” Callum asked her out of the blue.

“Tomorrow?” Did he not have work? How could he ask her again to hang out with them as if he was not the busy one? If he had the availability, why did he end up having no time for Caleb?

“Yes. You’re leaving after the weekend gig, right?”
