Meeting with a ghost

Looking at the little bird made of glass, she entered the room that belonged to her fiance. She wanted to surprise him with a beautiful gift the night before their wedding. She could not meet him earlier because of the bachelor party that his friends threw for him but now that he was back, she wanted to have this cute thing.

"Henry..."

She opened the door rather excited and paused at her place seeing him on top of his best friend. He always said she is just a friend and there is nothing between them.

San closed the door and looked at the little bird. She pressed her lips as she freed it who fell down with a sound and at the same time, the door opened.

"San.."

He held her arm who smiled painfully.

"Why? Why would you do that?"

She was calm and collected. She did not cry nor she yelled while Henry was not expecting this behavior from her.

"Let's forget about it. Okay.

We are not married yet and I just wanted to enjoy the last night of my freedom. It's just one time thing."

He put his hand on her cheek and gently patted it. San nodded and just left the room.

She came out of the building and sat on a bench look at the stars and that time she completely lost control over herself. She cried and cried until her eyes became completely dry. She did not know what to do. Does she want to marry him? No.

Was she in love with him? May be.

Was he always good with her? Yes.

But still he cheated.

"San, why are you sitting here at this time?"

She did not know when the night changed into day and her mother was sitting with her.

" Does anything happen?"

"Yes."

"What?"

San blinked as tears started pooling in her eyes.

She started telling the whole incident to her mother who looked stunned and in disbelief. Henry was always a very gentle and kind person. He was someone from San's elder sister's in laws.

That day, the wedding did not happen.

That day, everything changed for San. She was being mocked or pitied and she did not want any of these.

So, she left.

She left the city and all it's people back.

....After three months...

"It's been three months since the death of the only heir of the multibillion dollar X complany. The chairman and the grandfather of the deceased Gael Greyson donated a huge amount to many charities.

Gael Greyson was ...."

The Tv was turned off showing that the person was the not anymore interested in knowing about the case.

It's been three months but still this news was everywhere and on every channel.

"Poor man.

He died so young."

A woman clicked her tongue while San picked her bag.

"I am going to the hospital. Is there anything you wanted to tell Granny."

She asked the woman who was the incharge of this old age home.

"People like her are still alive but young people like Gael are dying. God has strange plans."

San shook her head as she chuckled softly. God do have strange plans.

She came in this big city to earn for her family but she was living hand to mouth. Sometimes, life do become unfair. She thought, she might end up a successful physical therapist but instead she was taking care of old.

Her other friends ended up getting married or getting better jobs but she was there not knowing what she could do next.

But this was not the reason she came to this big city. When she came here, she swore she was never going back. She was never going to show her face to anyone in her small city who witnessed her being humiliated on her wedding day.

Soon, she was in the hospital with the old woman who was thrown out by her son and daughter in law. After checking that she was doing well, she came out of the room and walked on the long corridor. This was the biggest hospital in the city and the old age home was also run by it. Both were own by the X company.

As she walked further, she realized that she lost her way. Looking around, she found a man who was standing outside the VIP room staring at the door.

"Excuse me sir."

She called him who did not lift his head nor responded.

"Hey.. "

She walked next to him.

"Can you tell me where is the exit? I think, I am going in circles."

She again asked him who this time lifted his head and glanced at her. His eyes were blank and held no emotions. He looked as if he lost everything in his life.

"I will find on my own."

San quickly turned and left while the man blinked.

"She can see me?"

He mumbled looking at her who was disappearing in the distance.

After San came to the old age home, she got busy in her work. She check all the older patients and was irritated to find that many were not following the treatment protocols.

"I am leaving."

She told the incharge who was watching the documentary on Gael Greyson.

Three months ago, he had an accident and died on the spot. He was considered a genius and had won many awards. His death was a great loss.

The police was still trying to figure out if it is an accident or a murder.

San tilted her head a bit.

"He seems familiar.

Did I see him anywhere?"

She questioned herself as she came out of the building and walked towards her apartment.

"He was handsome actually. What a loss."

She kept walking until she saw a man standing under the street light.

San looked around and found that she was alone in the street. She tightly her bag as she walked past the man. She lightly out the glance on him and had to stop.

That man was Gael.

Gael Greyson.

The person who died three months ago.

She paused and looked at him rather confused.

"You can see me right?"

He took a step towards her making San took a step back.

"I thought so."

He walked towards her and lifted his hand as tried to touch her face but his passed through her.

San suddenly felt scared.

"But I can not touch you."

He nodded.

"G...Gh...Ghosttttt"

San suddenly shouted as she ran towards her apartment. It was a ghost. It was definitely a ghost.

She ran and ran until she reached to her apartment. She entered inside and locked the door before she turned and stared at the closed door. Her heart was thumping against her chest as she fell down on the floor.

"It's not true.

I am just getting hallucinations.

Calm down, San.

Ghosts are not real."

She tried to give herself a reason that what she see was just an illusion or may be she was too tired from work.

After fifteen minutes, when she was calmed down a bit and came out of the shock, she chuckled at herself.

How can she see a ghost?

It might be her imaginations.

She stood up and at the same time, the man walked through the door and stood next to her.

"Now that you have calmed down, can we talk?"

He questioned her and then see her swaying and felling flat on the floor.

Gael Greyson, who died three months ago, shook his head in disappoinment.

The next morning, San opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. She was laying on the floor and her back was aching.

"Ah..."

She whimpered before she sat up thinking she might had a weird dream last night.

"You woke up."

She heard a voice and turned her head to see a man sitting leaning on the wall wearing black pants and a white shirt.

She slowly blinked.

"Oi.

Don't you dare to die. You have a lot of work to do for me."

He warned her as he walked towards her and sat in front of her while San gulped with fear.

"What...are you?

You were dead.

Aren't you?"

"Yes, I am dead." He nodded.

"But I can't leave this world and I don't know why."

It's been three months since he was wandering in this world not knowing where to go. Last night his grandfather was admitted in the hospital due to cardiac arrest and he was outside his room when San approached him.

There was someone who can actually see him. He thought, someone listened to his players.

"What do you want from me?"

San questioned him still sacred of him.

"I need your help.

You will help me to find my killer."
