Chapter 8

The next morning Stephanie woke up early Freshen up and headed to her father’s room, on getting to the door she paused, placed her hand on her belly and murmured. “Baby, mom will protect you.” Before knocking on her father’s door.

In the room, Shane Williams , Stephanie father was quietly staring at a portrait in his hand, suddenly there was a knock on the door .

Shane Williams was startled awake , and he quickly put away the portrait, and cleared his throat. “Come in.”

Stephanie opened the door and walked in, “good morning dad,” she greeted .

She caught a glimpse of the portrait, and immediately recognized the woman in the portrait .

She furrowed her brow slightly and stared at her father . “Dad, why are you looking at mom’s photo this early morning?”

Shane Williams lowered his head, “I always look at it whenever I missed her.”

“Dad, I understand, I miss her too, but we need to move on , mom has been gone for years and I believe wherever she is now, she doesn’t want to see us sad .”

“I know, by the way why are you here?” Shane Williams asked changing the topic.

“Dad I came to discuss something with you,” Stephanie began…”

Stephanie told her father everything, including her pregnancy. When Shane Williams heard this, he was so angry at Margret , above all,he blamed himself for everything that had happened.

“Stephanie, I’m sorry, you ended up like this because of me, if not for my sickness how can Margret have the chance to target you.”

“Dad, it’s not your fault, I don’t blame you.”

Shane Williams pressed his lips together , even though Stephanie didn’t blame him, he still felt a heavy guilt inside.

“About the pregnancy, what’s your plan?” Shane Williams asked.

“I want to keep it,” Stephanie answered.

Shane Williams sighed. “Stephanie, you can’t keep this pregnancy, keeping this child will only drag you down, it will also affect your future. Not to talk of,the person responsible is your sister’s fiancé.”

“Dad, I know that you’re worried about me, but I’ve thought this through and made up my mind to keep this child, this is an innocent life, and aborting this pregnancy is murder, And I know you wouldn’t want your daughter’s hand to be stained with blood.”

Shane Williams looked at her, seeing the determination in Stephanie’s eyes, as if she had already made up her mind .

He knows that anything he says at this point will be useless.

With this in mind, he nodded. “Alright , since you want to keep the baby, I won’t force you to abort it, I will respect your decision.”

“Thanks dad,” Stephanie said happily as she threw herself at him acting spoilt, she was so surprised that her father agreed so quickly, she had thought it would be hard to convince him.

Although her father always respected her decision, for example: when her father wanted her to study economic so she could take over the Williams family group, she refused and chose to study medicine instead , and her father supported her. But this case is different and she didn’t expect her father to agree, toher keeping the pregnancy.

“You’re all grown up now and you are still acting like a child,” Shane Williams said .

Stephanie smiled, “I’m always daddy’s little princess.”

Remembering something, she put on a serious face. “Dad, there’s something else that you need to know!”

“What’s that?”

“I’m leaving the country, I got an invitation email from Finland heart research center, I want to go and study there.”

“When are you leaving ?”

“Tomorrow morning!”

“What! Do you have to be in such a hurry to abandon this old man?”

“Dad, don’t worry I’m not staying there forever, I’ll always come back to see you.”

Shane Williams sighed. At this point, what could he probably say, even though he was reluctant to part with her daughter, her daughter is all grown up now and could make her own decisions. “Alright, take care of yourself, if you need anything don’t forget to call me.”

Stephanie nodded. “Got it, If there’s nothing else, I’ll head out first,” with that she stood up and left the room .

Once the door closed, Shane Williams sighed, his calm expression changed to a worried one, he closed his eyes, muttering to himself, “brother, I’m sorry, I don’t know how to handle this, my daughter is pregnant for your daughter’s husband, even though it’s not her fault. And I can’t force her to get rid of the baby , I just hope this won’t cause problem in the future.”

No matter what Jane and her mother Margret did,Shane would never blame them. Rather he would blame himself for not handling things well.

Shane Williams loved his younger brother Kane Williams so much, that he transferred the love to his family in his absence.

Shane Williams and Kane Williams were born twins into the Williams family, with Shane Williams as the first son. In the Williams family they first son inherit the family company , and Shane Williams being the first son was made the ceo of the Williams family group at the age of 18, after the death of their father, Shane Williams wanted his twin brother, Kane Williams to take over the company, as the CEO while he becomes the general manager, but Kane Williams refused, saying he wasn’t interested in the family company . Instead he went to work at Robinsons family corporation as a personal assistant for Michael Robinson, Nathan’s father.

Shane Williams was against his twin brother’s decision, but couldn’t do anything to stop him. He knows his brother was someone who loved to repay favors.

Shane Williams was aware that since the day Michael Robinson saved Kane Williams, when he was abducted by their father business rival during their teenage days, Kane Williams had vowed to repay this favor . That was why Shane Williams couldn’t stop him .

Remembering this, Shane Williams expression darkened. Maybe if his brother did not go to work at the Robinsons family corporation he would have still been alive.

The next morning, with dark circle under her eyes, Elsie watched as Stephanie boarded the plane, feeling reluctant.

She didn’t sleep a wink last night, she kept chatting with Stephanie until early hours of the morning, even when Stephanie fell asleep, she couldn’t sleep rather she kept thinking when she would be able to see Stephanie again, since meeting Stephanie, they haven’t left each other’s side.

Just as the airport broadcast announced the flight number for boarding, Elsie shouted at Stephanie’s retreating figure, “Stephanie, you promised to call me everyday, if you dare break your promise, and I can’t reach you for a day, I will board the next available flight and come to F country to find you.”

Stephanie without looking back at Elsie, waved her hands in the air, “I know.”

She was afraid that she wouldn’t want to leave again if she turn back.
