Chapter 24

Towards evening, just as Nathan closed from work and was about to head home, his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and saw it was his grandfather's butler calling. He picked up the call.

“Grandpa Leo!”

“Young master, the old Master said you should come over to the mansion now.”

Nathan was surprised. “Did something happened to my grandpa?”

“No! The old master is fine…” just then Mr Robinson voice rang out on the other end.

“You rascal you better start coming home now before I come to that company to get you.” With that the call ended.

Hearing his voice, Nathan breathed a sigh of relief , at least his grandfather was okay.

Just this morning he had ask him not to come back to the mansion again, and now he was calling him to come back. What could have changed.

His grandfather was not someone who easily changed his mind, something might have happened.

With this thought, Nathan left his office and headed downstairs, when he got downstairs, his driver was already waiting for him, he entered his car and ask him to head to the mansion.

Mr Robinson was pacing up and down the living room lost in thought, while the Butler Mr Leo was begging him to sit down.

“Master,the young master will soon be here , please sit down, your health is not good enough for you to be standing for so long .”

This was the scene Nathan saw as he entered.

He was certain that something might have happened for his grandfather to be behaving this way.

From their conversation, he realized that his grandfather had not sit down since he returned from the heart institute to collect his medication.

What might have happened there.

“Grandpa what’s going on?” He asked.

Hearing his voice, Mr Robinson turned and walked up to him. “How long were you planning to hide your children from me? You know how much I want to see my great grandchildren before I die, and yet you didn’t tell me about them.”

Nathan stared at him in surprised. “Grandpa what do you mean? Which children are you talking about? How could I have kids and keep it away from you ? Is that even possible? But you are aware that Jane and I have no children.”

"That's the more reason why you'd keep it away from me, because the children aren't yours and Jane's, but are yours and some unknown woman’s.”

Grandpa, I have no children with anyone, I’m sure you will be the first to know if I have children.”

“Grandpa , why would you even think I have children .”

“Today at the heart institute, I met two children who looked just like you.”

“Grandpa, there are many people in the world who looks alike, that you met some children who looks like me doesn’t mean the are my children.”

Just then the butler brought a picture of a young boy and showed him.

The picture was of Liam, the butler secretly took pictures of him at the Heart Institute.

When Nathan saw the picture he was momentarily stunned.

This picture….

Seeing his surprise expression, Mr Robinson was certain that he was hiding something from him.

“So you better start explaining yourself now, this is not just a coincidence, I can recognize a Robinsons when I see one and I’m %100 certain those children are Robinsons .”

“Grandpa, are you sure this is not one of my childhood pictures?” Nathan asked puzzled.

He wouldn’t believe that someone who is not related to him would look this much like him.”

“I would have believed that if I didn’t see that young boy today. I'm giving you two days to give me answers. Go home and think about who you slept with in the past that could've given birth to those children. “The Robinsons” descendants can not grow up outside the Robinson family home.”

Nathan wanted to sleep at the mansion but his grandfather did not allow him, after having dinner with him he stood up and reluctantly went back to his own house.

Meanwhile, in the other side of the house, Jane was still awake waiting for Nathan.

Nathan had been coming back late recently, could it be that he had found out about Stephanie’s children.

Just then she heard the sound of his car and jumped to her feet, he is back, she checked the time, it was past ten , he usually comes home by seven before, but now…

She stood staring blankly at the door, the door opened and Nathan walked in with his suitcase in his right hand, he glanced at her coldly before withdrawing his gaze and made his way upstairs.

“Husband, why did you come back so late today? How was work today?” Jane asked , but Nathan ignored her and went to his room.

Jane sighed, it has been five years, yet nothing has changed.

She could count how many times he had spoken to her, the only time he speaks to her is when Mr Robinson invites them over to the mansion for dinner, that the only time Nathan would talk to her and the only time they would sit together and eat .

Apart from that, they are living more like strangers than married couples.

Nathan even treats the servants better, than her.

They only thing she enjoys in this marriage is being able to buy anything she wants without worrying about money and the envy of other women.
