ELOWEN GARCIA'S POV
An invitation arrived at midnight. A bar whispered in hushed tones. Exclusive and Untouchable. A place people like me didn’t belong to unless we were invited. I should have ignored it. But that night, my heart was already bruised… and I was tired of being told who I was allowed to be. “You need me,” my fiancé had said earlier, his voice sharp with certainty. “You wouldn’t last a week on your own. No one would want you without me.” The words still burned as I stared at my reflection, adjusting the fabric over my skin. I had tried to leave him. I shouldn't leave him because he paid for my family's dept and saved us from shame. Bagay na hindi ko hiniling sa kanya. Ayaw niya akong pakawalan. And I wanted to do something about it. I have to prove to him that he's wrong... that I'll be more good without him. So I went. Velour Noire glowed like a secret behind velvet curtains and golden light. The moment I stepped inside, I felt it.... the weight of unseen eyes, the hum of quiet power, the kind of atmosphere that promised ruin if you stayed too long. I checked my phone again. "Table reserved. Drink waiting. Enjoy the night." My pulse raced as I approached the bar. The bartender didn’t ask my name. He simply nodded and slid a glass toward me. “From the gentleman watching you,” kalmado nitong saad na siyang ikinalukot ng aking noo. I stiffened. “Where?” His gaze flicked to the shadows. And that’s when I felt it. The pair of eyes, that had been staring at me the moment I stepped foot on this place. I turned—and everything inside me froze. I saw him. He sat alone, relaxed in a way only powerful men could be. His presence didn’t demand attention… it owned it. His eyes held mine without hesitation, dark and knowing, as if he’d been waiting for this exact moment. That he's been waiting for me to arrive. One corner of his mouth curved, not because he smiled, but because of something far more dangerous. Against every instinct, I moved closer to him. “Do you always accept invitations from strangers?” he asked, his voice low, smooth and intimate. “I wanted to prove something,” wlaang pag-aalinlangan kong tugon. “My fiancé." I said and aomething shifted in his expression, something dark and unreadable. “Does he know you’re here?” tanong niya ng maibalik na sa akin ang tingin. “He wouldn’t approve,” the man said softly. I let out a deep breath before I lifted my gaze on him. "I didn’t ask for his permission.” And that earned a quiet breath of amusement. “Good,” he murmured. “You shouldn’t.” I know him. I saw him in my fiance's family pictures. I heard his name a couple of times with their family conversation. At hindi ako puwedeng magkamali. My chest tightened. “You’re…” My voice faltered. "Jocob Aldeguire..." “Yes. I am Jacob Aldeguire, You're fiance's uncle." He's seven years older than me. A dangerous and forbidden man. “I invited you,” he continued calmly. “Because I wanted to meet the woman my nephew is so desperate to keep.” Marami kang puwedeng imbitahan kaya bakit ako pa ang napili m--" “Because he doesn’t deserve you,” he said, enough to make my knees tremble. He leaned closer, his presence closing in, voice dropping to something meant only for me. “And I’ve been wanting for you… far longer than I should.” In that moment, I understood the truth far too late. "I know... that time comes you'll do this, Elowen." "He doesn't deserve you, but you won't regret it. If you risk everything and play with me." I didn’t walk into Jacob Aldeguire’s world by mistake. I walked into it knowing that once I crossed the line, there would be no turning back. TO BE CONTINUED....ELOWEN GARCIA'S POV (Continuation) Nanatili ako roon ng ilang minuto. Tahimik. But the truth was… there was no fixing it. My steps felt heavier as I walked toward the living room. My fingers hovered above the screen for a moment. I knew what I was about to do. And once I do this… There’s no turning back. Then I exhaled softly… and dialed the number. It rang. Once. My heart started beating faster with every second that
ELOWEN GARCIA'S POV I slowly opened my eyes, the soft light of the morning seeping through the curtains. For a moment… I didn’t move. Then I noticed it the empty space beside me. Wala na si Jacob. Of course… wala na siya. He always leaves early now. Work. Meetings. Responsibilities. Or maybe… he just couldn’t stand staying here.Staying with me while I'm being too cold towards him. I wrapped my arms around myself as I walked out of the bedroom. The condo felt too big. Too empty. My eyes drifted toward the large window. I walked closer… and stopped in front of it. From here, I could see the city slowly waking up. Cars passing by. People moving. Life going on. Normal. Everything looked so normal. But I wasn’t. My hand slowly moved t
JACOB ALDEGUIRE'S POV It’s been a month. And not a single one of them felt any different from the first night I lost everything. Sobrang tahimik sa buong condo unit. I stood by the kitchen counter, staring blankly at the coffee I made a few minutes ago. My eyes instinctively shifted toward the hallway. To our room. A faint sound of footsteps echoed. And there she was. Elowen. Walking out of the bedroom. She looked… fine. Physically. The bruises had healed. The wounds had closed. But her eyes.. God… her eyes were empty. “Good morning,” I said quietly, my voice careful. She paused for a second. Then nodded. “Morning.” Just one word. My chest tightened, but I forced myself
JACOB ALDEGUIRE'S POV Hours had passed. I didn’t know how many. The world outside the hospital room continued, people moved, time kept ticking—but I was trapped in a haze of guilt, regret, and grief. Eventually, my chest slowly unclenched, and my racing heart began to settle, though the weight in my chest didn’t lift. I forced myself to move. I couldn’t stay collapsed on the floor forever. I had to face her. Somehow. Quietly, I pushed open the door to the room where Elowen lay. The soft hum of the ventilator and the faint beeping of the monitors greeted me, a cruel reminder of how fragile she had been tonight. I approached the bedside cautiously, my footsteps slow, almost reverent. She was sleeping. Peacefully, in a way that made my heart ache. My hands trembled as I reached out and gently took hers in mine. Her skin was still warm, and I could feel the faint pulse of life beneath my fingers. I lowered my lips to the back of her hand, pressing a soft, lingering kiss there. “I
Minutes felt like hours. Hours felt like a lifetime. The hallway was quiet except for the occasional footsteps of nurses and the distant sound of hospital equipment. My mind kept replaying the same image over and over again. Elowen. Lying on the cold floor. Covered in blood. My fists tightened as I leaned forward, elbows resting on my knees while my head hung low. D*mn it. For the first time in years… I felt powerless. Wala akong magawa. Wala akong kayang kontrolin. Please… Just let her live. I don’t care about anything e
JACOB ALDEGUIRE'S POV (Continuation....) I immediately scooped her into my arms. Her body felt too light. Too fragile. “Elowen… stay with me… please…” nanginginig ang boses kong bulong habang buhat-buhat siya sa aking bisig. Her head fell weakly against my arm. The sight of the blood staining the floor behind us kept flashing inside my mind like a nightmare I couldn’t escape. What the h*ll did I do? I rushed out of the condo unit, not even bothering to close the door behind me. “HELP!” I shouted the moment I stepped into the hallway. My voice echoed sharply against the walls. A couple of residents who were walking toward the elevator stopped and stared at us in shock. One of them gasped when they noticed the blood soaking through Elowen’s clothes. “Open the f*cking elevator!” I barked. My voice came out harsher than I intended, but I didn’t care. One of them immediately pressed the elevator button. The seconds felt like hours. “Elowen… hey…” I murmured
