Lyra's POV.

"Seize her!" Lucius commanded.

I was a little bit worried when I was bundled and thrown into a dungeon. This time around there was nothing I could have said that was going to repair the damage already done and honestly speaking I was beginning to feel weird

Something was not just right and if I was being truthful to myself I needed to find out about what I could do to save the day

Footsteps approached, and I readied myself for the judgment that was about to be pronounced on me.

There was absolutely no way in hell that I was going to get out of this mess without losing my mind and that was true.

"I see you have deceived us. You have decided to show how stealthy you can be." Camilla's commanding voice filled the room.

I shivered in my bones because I was still not at ease with what had happened. I couldn't explain it and therefore made me a liar in the presence of everyone

"How dare you think you can come in here and try to ruin everything? Do you honestly think that you can get away with it without being prosecuted?" She demanded.

I knew that I was already in for some danger when she removed a whip. "I decided to take pity on you but you paid us back in wicked coins. It is time for me to take charge of the situation and delete you completely."

She wasn't joking while muttering those words.

I inched backwards slowly, hoping that I would be able to negotiate my way out of this, but even I knew that there was no way out.

"Sorry, but not sorry, I don't think you understand the gravity of what's been happening. We have been having attacks and now you parade yourself as some lost wolf," she decided.

She was the second in command around here and I understood it but what I didn't understand was the fact that she refused to believe that I was innocent

"Please..."

I still felt a burst of power running through me but I refused to use it because then it was going to solidify the suspicion that I was one of the people who had indeed been involved in this

"He was right, I was rejected but I don't know where the power came from," I explained in the best way that I could.

A few minutes later more footsteps shuffled towards me.

"Release her this instant." Lucius' voice resounded throughout the hall.

I shivered in fear hoping that I had not committed a crime that was going to make them have my head.

"She has done nothing wrong. The only thing that she has done wrong is the fact that she refused to reveal her identity." He explained to Camila, who looked like she hated me being here.

Well, newsflash, I was about to be released.

.

Begrudgingly, she cut off the chains from my hands and instantly started walking away.

I was left with illusions in the room, my head spinning with different emotions trying to come up with a plausible reason why he was letting me go all of a sudden.

As if he could hear my internal monologue he watched me carefully. "I know that you didn't do anything to me. I just wanted to see if you were going to break under torture."

My jaw was probably on the floor at his comment but I steadied myself. "Amazing work of art you have there. Is there something else that I should be aware of?" I asked, gazing at the prints on the wall.

"No, do you mind coming over with me to start all over?" He countered.

"Uh..."

"Don't say anything but yes. I'm pretty sure you already know why I'm doing all of this."

If I continued widening my eyes, one of these days they would pop off.

His being nice to me was weird as hell, but I was ready to take it like that because I didn't know better.

"Yeah."

From the way he was acting a new something was highly suspicious but I just didn't know how far it was going to go before I finally fell into the trap

I took it upon myself to find something better to do with my life instead of pining over the fact that I have been rejected by my mate.

"She's going to take you to the room and you are going to be protected. Training starts tomorrow." He said.

"So, is this supposed to be limited to a few things or...?" I asked tentatively, not wishing to hear the answer.

"No, you get full access until I say otherwise. Now, for the first part of the day, we need to start from scratch, and I mean that we need to come through everything that makes you tick."

He sounded like he was really particular about finding all my answers and the things that make me who I am, which left me uncomfortable.

I didn't want to be a pet project.

Nobody considered me really worthy of attention except that we're getting something from me, and I needed it to change instantly.

"Starting all over isn't as hard as you think." He nudged me.

I took a deep breath,

He was probably right but at the same time, I needed to do something else remarkable with my life.

"It's a deal."

Together we locked hands, and I felt a weird sensation running down my spine.

If this was anything to live by, I had to do it with my eyes closed or else I was going to lose myself in this mix.

He led me to a training room, filled with various equipment and weird-looking rogues.

"I don't think I'm welcome here."

"That's because you're not, but you can make the best out of it." Lucius' voice weighed in on my mind.

I had been called a bad omen. What was my life without having to change the order of things?

Lyra’s POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Lucius told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perception about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little something

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 66

Kael's POV.My wolf led me to the plains, that was the only place that I could be able to get answers for what I was looking for and how long he was going to take for me to fathom a reasonable explanation and why she just disappeared. Selene must have been a bastard for thinking that you'll be able to make me convinced to do whatever she wanted and not what I truly wanted. How on Earth does she even think that it was possible? I had nothing to lose but she had everything and the entire world too. The father was not even as popular as he wanted to preserve his legacy and I was doing this simply because my pack members decided to go on a long journey to make sure that I was not doing anything against what was already in the works. I had nothing to lose nor gain, but now that Selene had spoken about it I was willing to abandon a few things to seek that girl out. She couldn't have been really far away or else I would have found her by now. I also didn't have anything to say apart fro

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 65

Lyra's POV.My first move was to comb the entire area making sure that I was able to drag the few things out."Don't you have a whole lot of things that you have to put into place before we start fighting against somebody that we know is going to prevail one way or the other?" It just didn't make sense to me no matter how much they were trying to go about it and paint it to be the real thing. I had already discovered a better way of handling the situation but none of this was sufficient enough for me. I had more ideas running through my mind and until they were done, I had nothing to fight for.One thing that was certain was the fact that I decided to go on with the entire trip. For Camille to think that everything was fine on my end and I was not under any pressure to give them a correct prediction or else lead them to their doom, she was just the same like everybody else. Most of them had concluded that I was overreacting about certain things that I did which was okay by me and

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 63

Kael's POV. I didn't have much to think of but I knew that something had been going on that I have was not very attentive to and I needed to change that immediately before it was so late for me to do that anymore I wasn't obsessing over Selene but she had made very valid points and I needed to check downtown just to see what was lurking behind this scenes As a spy myself I knew that whenever there was a lot of count it was going to birth something more than a whirlwind. I didn't have much to talk about but I was very sure that there was even something else going on that needed to help in releasing the pains. I had nothing more to look for besides the obvious answers that I had gotten over a long time. I didn't also have what it took to be able to switch things up but I was sure that at some point I would be able to see what was going on and deal with it. Firstly there was nothing else that I needed to do that was going to help out. All I needed right now was to make sure that I h

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 64

Lyra's POV. One of the most amazing things that I had ever done in my entire life had to be the fact that I have been able to understand the difference between the different timelines and how to navigate through it without losing my mind.I was only committed to one and that needed all the time in the world just to be able to sort many differences out."So... Are you a little bit worried by what this might bring and how longMy heart was pounding so hard that I almost felt it leaping out of my chest. My hands were tight but I had only one will.I needed to live, even if that was the last thing that I did. There was basically no option for me and I wasn't going to take chances. "If she gets away, we are doomed!" Somebody yelled from behind me. I was a little bit irritated by the way they were acting but I couldn't blame them either. It wasn't entirely there fault the way things were going, they had just been conditioned to think that Selene wielded the entire power. I also thought

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 62

Lyra's POV. I didn't think that there was going to be a change in the fact, "I didn't have the right to change the mandate but there wasn't anything more the other day." "Are you sure that there's something wrong with the issues at hand or is this something else that you need to tell me?" Camille headed towards me with the intention to get more information out of me but that was not going to happen. I had already figured out that there was going to be a little bit of a mix up here and there and I was waiting to see how long it was going to take and what exactly I had to do to sort out the entire problems. I had taken a deep breath yet refused to look straight into what she wanted me to do. I was thinking about how long it was going to take for me to be able to sort out a few things but here I was, dealing with more issues than none. "Is this really a thing or...?"I took a deep breath refusing to answer my question because it was harmful to my person and I would love to have the
