KING RYKERR

“The King’s bride is here. Be quick and gentle with him,” Warfox, the King’s head guard, said in a firm voice as he led the group of maids into the King’s chamber.

The King lay quietly on his grand bed, looking pale and lifeless. He didn’t move. He didn’t speak. His eyes sometimes stayed open for hours, but it was as if he saw nothing. Some people whispered that he had gone blind. Others said he had lost his voice and his mind.

Three maids rushed to dress him. Their hands trembled as they worked fast, putting him in a royal garment made of soft silk and lined with golden embroidery. The room smelled faintly of herbs and something sour, perhaps the sickness that now ruled the King’s body.

Two healers stood silently near the bed, watching carefully. Though the King looked weak and distant, they made sure his hair was neatly brushed and styled. His long beard had been trimmed. His fingernails were clean and polished. The maids did their best to make him look like a ruler again.

Once they finished, they stepped aside.

Now, the male healers moved closer. They held a small gold cup and a matching golden spoon. They slowly fed the King a warm tonic made from fish broth and special herbs. It was the only food he could keep down these days. After each spoonful, they gently wiped his mouth with a soft white napkin.

“We’re ready,” one of the healers said softly to Warfox.

Warfox nodded and clapped his hands twice.

The heavy wooden doors opened, and four strong guards entered, pushing in a royal cart made to carry the King in a seated position.

“Lift him gently. Do not hurt him,” Warfox ordered. “His bride is waiting.”

The guards bowed their heads in respect and stepped forward. They carried the King with careful hands, placing him into the cart and adjusting his body until he was sitting upright. Two men supported his sides, so he wouldn’t fall over. The rest of the group, maids, healers, guards, lined up behind them. Together, they left the King’s chambers.

This was King Rykerr, once the most powerful man in the land. Women used to fight for a place in his bed during his yearly Rut. He was strong, proud, and desired by all. But now, he was silent and helpless, unable to speak, eat, or even stand without help.

His next Rut was only weeks away.

This was the real reason they had searched for a bride.

All the noble families who used to fight to offer their daughters to him had vanished. No one wanted to be linked to a dying King. So, his guards were forced to travel far, to Ayla’s poor Pack, where a desperate family would not say no to such an offer.

The elders of the palace had insisted. The King needed an heir. Someone had to carry his bloodline. His younger brother, Prince Raban, couldn’t rule unless the King was proven unable to produce a child.

So this marriage was not for love.

It was for duty.

Warfox led the way as the group entered the main court of the palace. The doors opened with a loud creak. The nobles and elders inside rose to their feet as the King was carried in.

AYLA

Ayla stood still as she watched the King being brought into the hall. Her eyes widened. Her heart pounded fast in her chest. She had known the King was sick, but nothing had prepared her for this.

He looked like a doll, lifeless and pale.

Tears burned behind her eyes, but she blinked them away quickly. She had to be strong.

She was only eighteen. Her life had just begun. She had never even met her fated mate. But now, she was being given away like property to a man who didn’t even know she existed. All to save her Pack from hunger and shame.

If she had a choice, she would have run. But she didn’t.

The Moon Goddess had chosen her.

Maybe it was her purpose to heal the King.

Maybe this was all part of something greater.

The moment for the joining ritual arrived. Ayla took a deep breath and stepped forward. She sat in the chair placed beside the King’s throne. He didn’t even move or look at her. His face was still, his eyes empty.

The priest began the sacred prayer.

He called on the Moon Goddess to bless their union. To awaken the King’s spirit. To help him rise again and give this land a future heir.

A golden thread was brought forward.

It was a holy thread, used only in the most sacred of joining ceremonies.

The priest gently tied it around Ayla’s wrist, then wrapped the other end around the King’s limp hand. Their hands were bound together. It was done.

The hall filled with soft applause.

The ritual was complete.

But suddenly, everything changed.

Ayla gasped.

Her eyes widened in shock as a strange power surged through her body. She tried to pull away, but the thread kept them tied.

Then, the impossible happened.

The King’s eyes snapped open.

Fire burned in his gaze. His body jerked upward as he stood, on his own feet.

People screamed. Gasps echoed across the room.

He reached out with his free hand and grabbed Ayla by the throat.

“Who are you?” he demanded, his voice sharp and deep like thunder. “Who gave you the right to touch me?”

Ayla choked.

She tried to breathe, but his grip was tight. Her hands clawed at his wrist.

The thread still bound their hands together, glowing faintly as if something magical had been triggered.

The crowd froze in shock.

The King, who had not spoken or moved in months, was now standing, talking, and furious.

“Let her go!” someone shouted.

But King Rykerr didn’t listen.

He stared into Ayla’s eyes like he was searching her soul. Something inside him was waking. Something old. Something wild.

Venna sat on the edge of the wide bed, her feet barely touching the cold stone floor. The chamber was too quiet, too large, and far too grand for someone like her. Her fingers twisted together in her lap as her heart beat fast in her chest. She had been placed here by the queen’s command, yet no one had told her why. The room smelled of herbs and clean linen. Soft curtains hung beside the tall windows, and the fire in the hearth burned low, giving off a warm glow. Everything about the chamber spoke of royalty. Venna felt like a small bird trapped inside a golden cage. She was restless. Her thoughts would not stay still. Why would the queen bring me here? she wondered. Venna knew her place in the palace. She was only a servant. She cooked, cleaned, and obeyed orders. She had never dreamed of sleeping in a royal chamber or being treated with such care. It made no sense, and that frightened her more than anger would have. She searched her mind for answers, moving from one though

Queen Ayla leaned close to Tiara and whispered softly into her ear. Her voice was low, calm, and full of authority. Tiara listened carefully, her eyes widening just a little before she nodded in understanding. Without wasting time, Tiara lifted her hand and gave a silent signal to the other maids standing nearby. They immediately understood what was required of them. Everything happened quickly. Two royal maids stepped forward and held Venna by her arms. Their grip was firm but not rough as they pulled her up to her feet. “Come with us,” one of them said in a flat tone. Venna did not struggle. She did not scream or beg. In her heart, she had already accepted her fate. She believed she was about to be punished. She had made a terrible mistake. She had foolishly bumped into the King himself. In the palace, such an act was not taken lightly, especially from someone like her—an ordinary cook with no title or protection. Venna knew the consequences could be harsh. She had been waitin

Venna's whole body shook hard. Confusion filled her mind like a thick fog. She could feel something hard pressing against her private part through her wet underwear. It poked right at her most sensitive spot. And the worst part was the heat building deep inside her. It pulled at her core, making her hips move on their own. She ground against him without meaning to, a soft whimper escaping her lips. Prince Rykerr groaned low in his throat. His strong hands gripped her waist tight, guiding her movements. He wanted more of that friction, more of her warmth. But as soon as she realized what was happening, her body went stiff. Fear mixed with the strange pull in her belly. This wasn't right. She was just a maid, and he was the prince. What was she doing? "Stop fighting it," he groaned, his voice rough with need. "Your body wants this so badly." His hand on her neck pulled her closer. Their noses almost touched now, his breath hot on her face. Venna's heart pounded wild in her chest. She

Venna left the tray on the table and slowly walked toward the bathroom, her heart beating so fast she feared it would jump out of her chest. She raised a shaky hand and pushed the door open. The moment she stepped inside, she froze. The whole bathroom smelled like him. A heavy, masculine scent—warm, strong, powerful. It wrapped around her instantly, sinking into her skin and making her heart thump harder. She didn’t even know a person could have a scent that strong. It was like the entire room belonged only to him. Which it was, in every way. The bathroom was huge, almost the size of her uncle’s sitting room in the Red Moon Pack. The floors were marble, smooth and shiny. Beautiful lamps hung on the walls, casting a soft glow across the room. In the center sat a large polished wooden bath, filled with warm water that steamed gently. Venna clenched her fingers together. She took one deep breath before stepping farther inside. Where is he? She looked left, then right. She even lo

  • ALPHA KING'S BRIDE: THE POWER OF HIS LUNA    0096: BATHING REQUEST

That night, Venna could not sleep at all. Not even for a second. The whole kitchen had celebrated her that evening. Everyone clapped for her, hugged her, and praised her because she became the first cook who served the prince a meal without him complaining or throwing the food away. Many cooks had died because they failed him… but Venna passed. So the cooks danced and talked about her like she was a hero. Yet, even after all the noise and laughter died down, Venna’s heart would not rest. She lay on her small bed and stared up at the ceiling. She could still hear his voice inside her head. His words wouldn’t leave her alone: “From henceforth, you will be my wife. My mate.” No matter how many times she repeated it, the sentence still didn’t make sense. Was he testing her? Was he teasing her? Or did he actually mean it? Her heart wouldn’t calm down long enough for her to think properly. He was a prince — the crown prince. The heir to the whole Sea Moon Kingdom. His parents sure

  • ALPHA KING'S BRIDE: THE POWER OF HIS LUNA    0095: HIS DEMAND

Prince Rykerr sat with a kind of silent power that filled the room. He was on the long couch beside the tall window of his chamber, a rolled scroll in his hand, the candle lights brushing across his face. His dark hair caught the lights in thin streaks of gold, but his eyes—those sharp, stormy eyes—remained unreadable as he read. The door creaked softly. Venna stepped inside, her hands trembling slightly as she carried a tray filled with food. The smell of roasted lamb and herbs filled the air immediately, wrapping around the coldness of the room. Prince Rykerr didn’t look up at first, but the moment she entered, he sensed her. His head tilted slowly in her direction, his attention falling on her like the weight of a crown. “Come forward,” he said, his deep voice calm and commanding. Venna obeyed, her steps felt measured, her heartbeat loud in her chest. Every story she had heard about him echoed in her head—rumors of his temper, his cruelty, the way servants disappeared after on
