Amelie's POV.
Matilda was silent for a few moments, she never answered my question. Her face stiffened slightly, I don't know why she became like this.
"This isn't about your worn out hair tie, Amelie, but about you entering my room without permission. I've long disliked people who frequently invade privacy like you and this has nothing to do with Alpha Rexton." She said then explained at length.
I frowned. "Isn't that guy Alpha Rexton? Even his car is blue, he's not Alpha Rexton."
"Why does it seem like you know him best now, Amelie?!" Matilda looked at me with a searching gaze. "He doesn't only have one car and his black car is in the repair shop, it's natural for him to use another car. Besides, if not Alpha Rexton, who else would I go with?!"
"Excuse me."
"After accusing me like that, can you just apologize?"
I was silent and couldn't answer Matilda's question, even though I could see clearly that the man was not Alpha Rexton. Am I looking wrong? I don't think that's possible.
Matilda's loud voice seemed to disturb the mother who was already in the room a little. Matilda and I turned simultaneously to the source of the sound when we heard the sound of the door opening.
Mom came out of her room. For a moment her eyes looked at Matilda and me alternately.
"What are you talking about at night? Your voice can disturb the other neighbors, do you understand?!"
"Sorry, Mom." Matilda and I said almost at the same time.
"Never mind, Amelie, go back to the room." Mama looked at me before she turned to Matilda. "Matilda, you too, clean yourself up. No need to fight, it's late."
I nodded my head, then went back into the room. My memory can't be separated from the man I saw earlier, I really didn't see Alpha Rexton like Matilda said.
Grabbing the smartphone that was by the bed, I turned it on and spent my time on social media until late at night.
***
"Amelie ... Amelie ...."
Hearing my name being called, even though it was faint, my eyes opened little by little. There was no one in this dark room.
I still kept hearing the sound of someone calling my name, he whispered and I looked for the source of the sound.
A knock on the window made me realize that the sound was coming from there. I turned on the room light and walked over.
"Jack? What are you doing here?" I was surprised to see his presence in front of the bedroom window.
"Sorry to disturb your sleep, would you like to help me?"
"Help you for what?" My forehead frowned.
He sighed. "Look, I'm out of money. Can you lend me your money?"
"Um ...." I remembered what Matilda and mother said the other day. Is this the start of it all? Ah, I don't want to think bad. "How much do you need?"
"Not much, just to buy my father's equipment."
I walked back closer to the bed, then took my wallet which was in my sling bag which was hanging behind the bedroom door.
I took out a few bills from there, then I went back to the window of the room where Jackson was waiting.
"Sorry, I can only help you a little."
The two eyes that were originally pitiful now seemed to be sparkling. "Thank you, Amelie, this is enough. I don't know who else if not you would help me. Thank you, thank you very much."
"Use the money as best as possible." I'm happy to see him smiling again. "Remember, I'm only lending you, not giving you my money."
Jackson nodded his head. "I will return it as soon as possible, Amelie." He put the money in his shirt pocket. "I don't want people to get suspicious, I'll go now."
I nodded my head. The man left with some money that I lent him.
From behind the window, I could only sigh while watching him. Even if he doesn't return my money, I don't think it's a problem because the amount isn't too big. If he returns it, I still accept it and realize that he really wants to erase the permanent marker scribbles on the white board.
No longer feeling sleepy, I had to open my eyes until morning arrived. I didn't sleep again after Jackson arrived.
"It's great that you're awake, Amelie," said Matilda, looking sarcastically at me.
I smiled, responding calmly. "Is it wrong if I wake up early?"
"Yes." She nodded her head. "You always wake up late, mom has to wake you up every morning."
"I want to change myself for the better starting today."
Matilda chuckled. "Though I'm not sure if you'll make it, but I'm still praying for you."
"Thank You."
I deliberately didn't respond to Matilda's words, I didn't want our conversation to be longer and Matilda talking about other things.
After finishing breakfast and making sure I had brought some things, I took the flatshoes in the shoe rack and put them on.
"I'll go first." I shouted as I left the room.
The air outside the house was very cold, the wind was blowing and the sky was very cloudy. I tightened the thick jacket I was wearing, my legs moved quickly towards the bus stop to wait for the bus that would pick me up and take me to the company.
The bus stop wasn't too busy, luckily the bus arrived on time so I didn't have to wait long for it to arrive.
Getting into the bus, the air felt better now. Looking outside the snow began to fall making white marks on the ground.
"What are you eating, Chasne?" I asked when I entered the office and saw her eating food.
"Kimbap, I tried making it this morning. Do you want it?"
It looks so delicious, I nod my head. I picked up the food using chopsticks and fed a piece that was a little bigger than usual, making my mouth feel very full.
Warm, it tastes quite good. I nodded my head as I continued to enjoy the food.
"How does it taste? Do you like it?"
I nodded. "It's delicious, I like it."
"I'll bring it to you tomorrow."
"Thank you, Chasne. I would be very happy."
Working hours started, I and other employees were busy with our respective work. Looking towards the window, snow was still falling outside.
I stretched the muscles in my body, it felt tiring to continue sitting in this chair for hours. Not to mention my eyes keep looking at the computer screen, it makes me feel sleepy.
Five minutes until break time, I decided not to continue my work until break time was over. I really feel tired.
"Let's go to the cafeteria," said Chasne.
I nodded. Usually there will be soupy food in the cafeteria, today I want to eat it. I left my lunch box at the office.
The cafeteria wasn't that busy yet. After taking chicken soup, warm water and some fruit we both sat on a bench close to the door.
As I had imagined before, the taste was bland, with only a slight salty taste at the end. I just want to eat some soup to warm my body, that's all.
"It's not very good." Chasne said, stirring the soup in front of her.
I nodded in agreement. "The food in the cafeteria is always bland."
"Mostly, but yesterday was pretty good."
"Is it true?"
Chasne nodded her head. "I'm curious about who cooks all this food, why does it taste different every day like this?"
"Maybe this food is made by different people every day, that's why the taste is different."
"Maybe."
"You know, last night Jackson came to my house and knocked on the bedroom window." I changed the topic.
"What does he want to come to your house for?"
"He borrowed money."
"You gave it?"
I nodded. "Actually, I feel hesitant to help him."
"Why?"
"Mama and Matilda said that he was very dependent on people who helped him, that's why there were rarely any people who wanted to help, or even none." I explained. "I'm afraid that later he will depend on me."
"You have to be firm with him, Amelie. Don't hesitate or be afraid, even though he is known as a bad wolfman."
"I will try it."
***
It was four in the afternoon. I tidied up my things and got ready to go home.
The snow outside was falling again and getting thicker, while I only wore flatshoes and didn't bring boots or thick socks. I will definitely be very cold outside.
"Are you going home now, Amelie?" Chasne asked, coming closer to my desk.
"The air outside is very cold, I want to go home immediately."
"Amelie, I'm sorry."
I frowned. "Sorry for what, Chasne? I don't think you've done anything wrong."
Matilda's POV. Our meeting again took place at the bus stop. When I got off the bus I was on, I smelled a strong woody aroma mixed with mint, the exact same smell I smelled at the bar. "Mate!" The wolf in me says so. I stood stiffly looking at the wolfman in front of me now. Our eyes met for a long time. My heart was beating so fast that I felt a little short of breath. How could I meet my mate after I decided to have a relationship with Alpha Rexton? I don't know why fate seems to be playing tricks on me now. "Mate." He said softly, but managed to make my heart beat even faster. My body is frozen at this moment, my eyes continue to look at him. Even if I wanted to look away, I felt like I couldn't. In front of me now stands a wolfman who is none other than my mate. *** Today and the next few days, Alpha Rexton is busy with his duties. Usually I would be very lost and lonely, but not this time because Levin has just returned to my life and he is also my mate. My days feel mo
Matilda's POV. "What did you hear, Mom?" "I don't know, the voice sounded unclear and faint. I even thought I was dreaming." "Hm, strange." I tried to make a connection between what my mother and I heard. "But I think I only heard one footstep." "Never mind, it's time to go to work, Matilda." My eyes glanced at the wall clock which showed a quarter to eight. "Oh my, I might be late." I got up from my seat, leaving mom who was tidying the dining table after we all had breakfast. Going to the shoe rack, I took white stilettos so that they were the same color as the clothes I was wearing today. Before leaving, I checked my bag, making sure all the things I needed had been brought and stored neatly in the bag. "I'm leaving, Mom." "Be careful, Matilda." I heard my mother scream from inside the house when I closed the door. The distance was far enough for me not to respond to her words. My two feet walked quickly towards the bus stop, I didn't want to miss the bus or I would be
Amelie's POV. The cafeteria was getting busier, several employees had just arrived and taken their lunch. This room is quite spacious, even though many employees arrive, there is never a shortage of tables or chairs. All employees have their respective places. "Has Alpha Rexton ever met you in the afternoon after coming home from work?" Instead of answering, Chasne just asked. I nodded. "He was on the same bus with me." "Sorry, I was the one who told Alpha Rexton about that." "You met him?" Chasene nodded. "When I went to the restroom, suddenly he came and grabbed my hand." "What did he ask?" "He asked when you were coming home and what bus. Sorry, I answered without telling you first." "Oh, why didn't you tell me?" "How can I tell you, Amelie? I feel guilty for telling him about your return." "You should have told me too if Alpha Rexton met you, Chasne. Maybe I could go home to your place first so I don't have to be on the same bus with him." Chasne lowered her head. "S
Amelie's POV. The air outside must be very cold, rather than having to be outside, I feel like staying inside. Currently Alpha Rexton is helping me put on my coat, socks and boots. I also wore gloves on both hands so my body would feel warm even though I was outside. We both walked out of the house. I looked around. What will we do? "How about we go for a walk around here? Matilda never takes me for a walk around the area where she lives." I nodded. "I'll be a good tour guide for you, Alpha Rexton." My lips smile. "Follow me." "Okay, Mrs. Pinky." That call made me blush. "A tour like this should be done in summer, the views will look more beautiful." "I think you would really make a good tour guide, Amelie." "Thanks." I smile. "This is a park, not too big but quite fun. Matilda and I used to often play here." Alpha Rexton nodded his head as I explained. "There are many houses here, one of which is the house on the right with a rusty fence that belongs to Jackson." "Do you
Matilda's POV. The strong woody fragrance mixed with mint makes me even more helpless. Now Levin and I are in a room separate from the bar, but still in the same building. On the king size bed, he continued to kiss me fiercely. He kissed me everywhere. "Please don't leave any red marks anywhere, Levin." I spoke holding back the mounting desire. Levin stopped what he was doing, his brow furrowed. "Why?" "Um ... I--I ... I'm afraid that my work friends will make fun of me later." I said, hoping that the reason made sense to him. He nodded. "Okay." He smiled. "Can I continue again." "Of course." He attacked my body again with delicious attacks. Making love with my mate felt better than with Alpha Rexton. Maybe this happened because of the desire that arose after finding out that the two of us were mates. Levin continued to stimulate my sensitive areas, he didn't care that I was already very aroused and wanted more. It was as if he couldn't hear my sighs, roars and pleadings. U
Matilda's POV. I can't hide this lie forever. It made me very uneasy, felt guilty and felt like the worst wolfwoman. Even though I have met my mate, I also don't want to let go of Alpha Rexton because I also love him. Alpha Rexton who accompanied me for the past years, he who understands my good and bad. Likewise, I also know everything about him. "W--what are you saying, Matilda? Don't be kidding," said Levin, he seemed to be smiling even though he was stiff. I shook my head. "I'm serious, Levin. I'm not joking. It's true that I already have a lover and he is an Alpha." "Alpha?" His eyes widened. "How could you--" "I'm sorry, Levin." I cut him off. "Before we met, I was already in a relationship with Alpha Rexton. He is the Alpha of the Yellow Moon Pack. We both love each other and this relationship has been going on for almost three years. He and I have also planned to get married." Levin looked at me intently as he explained that. "Y--you already belong to someone." "I'm
Matilda's POV. There is no one here except me who is on a video call with Alpha Rexton. Luckily he contacted me when I was at home. What if I'm still at the bar? I can't imagine it. Alpha Rexton's question made my heart beat fast. I choked on it. I quickly took a glass of water and drank until half was left. "The cafe was very busy, so I stayed overtime to help the other shift employees a little." "Oh, you must be very tired." I nodded. "Of course, what about your job?" "Everything is running smoothly." "When are you coming home?" "I don't know for sure yet." Alpha Rexton was seen lowering his head. "Do you miss me?" I nodded my head, even though I didn't really miss him like I did before meeting Levin. My question was just to anticipate. If he really wants to go home, maybe I will limit my meetings with Levin. I really can't choose between Alpha Rexton or Levin, I want them both. My dinner is finished. I ate it while continuing to chat with Alpha Rexton via video call. "
Matilda's POV. I woke up with my body drenched in sweat. My chest swelled and contracted due to irregular breathing. The dream I had earlier was really crazy. My hands rose to rub my face, which also felt wet and sticky. My hair also feels limp. Looking towards the window, I saw that the sky was still dark. It was two o'clock in the evening when I glanced at the wall clock. I sat on the bed trying to catch my breath and calm myself down. I sighed. "Why should I dream like that?" All of this happened because I kept thinking about that. My eyes could no longer close after waking up from a nightmare. I tried several times to go back to sleep in various positions, but I still couldn't sleep as soundly as before. I faintly heard the sound of approaching footsteps again. The quiet atmosphere around the house meant that the sound could be heard clearly. My heart beat fast when I heard the footsteps approaching. I'm afraid if what mom thinks is true. What if my house is being targeted
