Just Like You

 Rexton's POV.

 I really didn't expect that Matilda and Levin were mates. Realizing this, it was as if Matilda was pushing me backwards and further away from her. Matilda was still standing in the same place. She looked at me intently.

 What she said just now was not wrong. I still often think about Amelie and even regret rejecting her. Can Matilda see my attitude clearly? I never realized it.

 "Yeah, Levin and I are mates." Matilda said after a moment, reassuring me.

 "S--since when did you know?"

 "Since the first time I met him after not seeing each other for several years." Matilda answered without hesitation. "I met him at the bus stop when I was going to work."

 "Why ... why didn't you tell me, Matilda?"

 Matilda sighed. "Didn't you also tell me that you were mates with Amelie?" Instead of answering, she just threw the question back at me.

 I was silent at Matilda's question. We were both wrong. If only Matilda had said that she was mate with Levin from the start, maybe I would have tried my best to let her out of my life and Amelie to be my real mate and lover. Instantly I felt really guilty about Amelie. Now everything is so complicated.

 Matilda sighed, she moved from her original place and I turned around to leave her. I really can't understand everything that happened today. There were many surprises that I got today, starting from me apparently having a son and also Matilda who apparently is married to Levin. Entering the study, I took a deep breath and just sat down. My hands squeezed my hair and head, I felt like I wanted the thoughts that were now filling my brain to disappear instantly.

 Tired of being in the study for a while, I decided to go out. From where I am now, I see Beta Luke who is walking not far in front of me. My two feet stepped faster to catch up with him.

 "Beta Luke." I called once I was close enough to him.

 "Oh." He seemed surprised by my presence. "What's wrong, Alpha Rexton?"

 "Did you tell the wolves to search for Gloria a little faster?"

 Beta Luke nodded his head. "Yeah, they're working on it."

 "What about that photo?"

 "Uhm, I saw that the photo had been spread in several media, but the Boss Media Company kept trying to classify it as if it wasn't Luna Matilda, Alpha Rexton."

 "Pay Mr. Anderson and ask him to stop clarifying."

 "B--but, Alpha--"

 "Just leave it." I just cut off Beta Luke's words. "Let all the wolves know that it is Matilda and Levin. They are both mates."

 "Mate?!" Just like me, Beta Luke was also surprised to hear that.

 I nodded my head. "Yeah, I'm fed up with everything I found today. I want to go away for a while, if anyone is looking for me just say I'm going for a walk to unwind."

 "At night like now?" Beta Luke stopped his sentence for a moment. "Do you want me to accompany you?" He asked giving me an offer.

 "No need." I said shaking my head. "I want to be alone, I need time for that."

 "Okay, Alpha Rexton." Beta Luke nodded his head.

 Walking towards the garage, I got into the car and drove away from the castle. The street was quite dark. I stopped the car in the middle of a fairly quiet road. It feels calming here, I was silent for a few moments. My thoughts returned to my happy times with Matilda. This is indeed both of our mistakes, it cannot be denied that I was wrong and I admit it. We should have talked from the start so it didn't end like this. Unfortunately we are both afraid to start talking.

 I rejected Amelie and hurt her heart, even though she was pregnant with my son. Meanwhile, Matilda was forced to marry me and become luna, even though she had already met her mate too. Immediately I realized that honesty is important even though it hurts a lot, but it is better to say it than hiding it with lies because whenever a lie will be revealed the truth will also be revealed.

 After a few stops, I returned to driving my car. Now I'm in a tall building with lots of rooms. I checked my smartphone and started looking for her name in the contact list. I felt like I wanted to apologize to her, no matter whether she would forgive me or not.

 "He--hello?" 

 "Come out, I'm waiting for you in the lobby." Without waiting for her answer, I immediately went to the lobby and waited for her there.

 No need a long time, I saw Amelie coming out of the elevator. She stepped closer to me, but before she got near me, I had already moved away.

 Walking towards the back of the hotel, I knew that Amelie would follow my footsteps. I stopped and waited until she arrived right in front of me.

 I exhaled trying to stay calm. "I'm sorry, Amelie. I'm sorry."

 "There's nothing to be sorry about, Alpha Rexton. That's how it should be."

 "No." I shook my head. "I should have been with you, not Matilda. You are my mate."

 Amelie was silent, she looked at me intently. "There's no need to discuss it anymore, it's in the past. I only asked you to help me save Griffin, only you can do that, Alpha Rexton. After that, I will leave your life again. I promise I will go as far as I can."

 "No." I shook my head, my eyes looked at Amelie's eyes. "I won't let you go, Amelie."

 Her forehead frowned. "Why?"

 "I want you to stay here, with me, to be my mate and my luna."

 "What about Ma--"

 "Sshh ...." I stopped what she was saying. My index finger is now on her soft lips. "She found her mate a long time ago, Matilda and Levin are mates."

 "Le--Levin?"

 "Yeah, let them live together happily. We have to be happy too, especially since Griffin also deserves a father figure in his life."

 Just my index finger wasn't enough, my two hands gently held Amelie's head. She didn't resist at all and I started to bring my face closer. Instantly she refused but her strength was no match for me.

 Her lips were still the same, sweet, soft and supple. There is no one here so I can do it freely, the lighting is not very bright and there are no CCTV cameras here either. When I was in the middle of our heated kiss, my smartphone rang. I felt irritated by the voice call that came in at the wrong time and forced our kiss to break.

 I saw Beta Luke's name on my smartphone screen, I picked up the voice call lazily. "Hello."

 "They've found her, Alpha Rexton. When are we going to attack?"
