Alpha Rexton, Don't Be Crazy

 Matilda's POV.

Gwendolyn's birthday party last night was so tiring that I fell asleep for a long time. Leaving the room, I still haven't seen Amelie, maybe she's still asleep.

I took the little remaining chicken soup. Glancing at Amelie's bedroom door, I didn't intend to finish it. It's just that after that I saw several cans of sardines in the cupboard.

"She can eat sardines later." I said, then reheated the cold chicken soup.

While I was eating dinner, I heard the sound of the bedroom door opening. My guess was right, the lazy Amelie had woken up from her sleep.

She sat next to me, put her smartphone on the table and we chatted for a while before she finally went to heat the sardines.

Her smartphone lit up with an incoming message. I can't see who sent the message.

"There's a message on your smartphone, Amelie."

"Just leave it, I'll be done in a minute."

The smartphone screen turned off again and I went back to enjoying the chicken soup that I had left. Amelie sat back down next to me, she turned on her smartphone and opened the social media account where the message came from.

From where I was sitting, I could see everything on the screen because it was lit quite brightly.

Amelie enjoyed dinner while responding to messages from who knows who.

'She has started to fall in love.' I said to myself, then watched Amelie move to put away the dirty dishes.

The smartphone was placed back on the table. The screen was still on and I saw an account called Rylee Graciela. Some things I can read are that he invited my sister to meet.

Amelie Chyntia, she is not my biological sister but I really love her. Her character is very different from mine, she is more expressive, cheerful and likes interacting with lots of people. Not like me.

I'm happy with her personality who blends in easily, but I'm also afraid because of that. She's easy to trust, I'm afraid she's easily tricked.

"I'm going to my room." I said when she returned to the dining table.

I turned on the smartphone in my hand. A notes application with unlimited storage is the main goal.

My two thumbs started dancing on the screen which now had a keypad in it. They will meet at eight tomorrow night at the Venus Bar.

 ***

"Do you have any plans tonight, Honey?" I'm talking to my boyfriend on a voice call.

"Hm, yes." He answered. "I'm going to go meet one of Luke's mutual friends."

I nodded, even though I knew that my head nod couldn't be seen by him. "I also have an event tonight."

 "You want to go?"

"Yes, some friends asked me to meet."

"Do I need to take you first?"

"N--no." I said immediately. "No, I'll be picked up by one of my friends."

 "Have fun, Baby."

I smiled hearing that. "You too."

The voice call was disconnected, now I can be more calm.

Alpha Rexton never stopped me and neither did I. I always support everything he wants to do, especially since he is an Alpha who certainly carries out many tasks for the members of his pack. I can understand that.

Being Luna will be very hard and now I'm trying to do it. I learned many things while being Rexton's lover. I didn't want to disappoint my partner who was an Alpha at all.

"It's half past eight, I have to go immediately."

Coming out of the room, I didn't see anyone and that was good. My footsteps walked out of the house, went to the nearest bus stop and started boarding the bus that would take me to my destination.

Both me, mother and Amelie always use public transportation to go anywhere. That's because we don't have a car. The only car left by my late father was sold to renovate the house two years ago. At that time, Amelie and I weren't working yet, so mama had a little difficulty meeting our needs.

I walked into the bar. Even though it wasn't late at night, there were already many people here.

"Venus Bar." I read the writing on the big screen behind a DJ who was focused on the DJ mixer in front of him.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

Hearing that voice, I turned around and saw a man with a short comb-over haircut that fit his face perfectly.

For a few seconds my eyes met the man's black eyes. Likewise, he seems to feel the same way.

I just realized that the aroma in this bar is different. Immediately I smelled a strong woody fragrance with a hint of mint mixed in. I don't know what this means.

 "You ... Matilda."

'Oh my God, he still remembers me.' I said it in my heart, my eyes couldn't be taken away from the handsomeness of his face which was increasing after not seeing him for so long.

"Oh, sorry, looks like I was wrong--"

 "No, you're not wrong." Immediately I felt awkward. "I--I ... I'm Matilda."

He smiled, I could see it even though the smile was very thin and almost invisible.

My heart is beating fast right now. Instantly I no longer cared about my surroundings and what my real purpose in coming here was.

"You still remember me?" he asked, his smile still present there.

I nodded my head firmly. "You're Levin."

His smile grew bigger when I said his name. He was a friend from high school. I admired him, but after graduating he chose to leave here to follow his parents.

I don't know where he is, but clearly his friends don't know either. He is the son of a rich businessman, his life is quite private for many people. Only a few people know about it, of course those related to it.

"What are you doing here, Matilda? Do you want to meet someone?"

I sat in a chair right in front of the bar table so that our communication felt more comfortable. "Hm, but it looks like they haven't come here yet."

"Then, wait here first. What do you want me to do?"

 "The mango juice seems fresh."

"Good choice, mango juice is perfect for someone who doesn't drink alcohol like you."

I smiled, he still remembered that.

From where I sat, I could see his quick and deft hands preparing mango juice for me.

One mango juice has been prepared. He placed it on the table right in front of me.

 "Your orders, Miss Matilda."

A smile formed when I heard him call me that. "Thank you, Mr. Levin."

I took a small sip, it felt very fresh when the cold mango juice slipped down my throat.

Instantly I remembered my true purpose. Looking around, I still couldn't find anyone I suspected would meet Amelie. I haven't seen that woman come here either.

The atmosphere in the bar is getting busier, I'm starting to feel uncomfortable being here. Moreover, the sound of music is getting louder. Honestly, I felt dizzy hearing that.

"Aren't they here yet?" Levin asked.

 I shook my head.

Until I had no more mango juice left, I still hadn't seen Amelie or the man she was going to meet.

My eyes wandered around, but they still didn't catch my eye.

Even though I had come on the right day, time and place. Venus Bar at eight. I don't know why they're not here yet.

 "I'll pay for it later."

 "But I--"

"It doesn't matter, it's enough that you're disappointed that they didn't come. I hope my mango juice can cheer you up."

I smile. Levin doesn't know yet if I already have a boyfriend. "Thank You."

"You're welcome. Do you want to go home now?"

"Yeah, they didn't come anyway." Glancing at the watch around my left wrist, it was half past nine. I've been waiting here for forty minutes.

 "Sorry I can't take you, I'm working."

My heart feels happy with his good intentions. "No problem, I can do it myself." My hand reached for the dirty glass that had contained mango juice. "Thanks for the drinks."

"Don't mention it, I'm happy to share with you. Take care, see you later."

 "See you."

The bus stop was very quiet when I got there. I waited five minutes, finally the red bus arrived.

There weren't many people inside. I can freely choose a seat as I like.

My eyes wandered out of the glass, but my mind was still on the bar. His smile, his words, his soft tone of voice, all of it ... reminded me of those beautiful school days many years ago.

My stomach grumbled between steps. "Is there anything I can buy before I get home?" I asked quietly while looking around.

A pizza shop not far from the bus stop caught my attention. My feet immediately moved there to order a box of pizza that looked really delicious.

Returning home, the atmosphere was still as quiet as when I was leaving two hours ago.

"Amelie's shoes aren't here yet, that means she's not home yet." I put the pizza box on the dining table. "Did they change places after seeing me at the bar?" My mind tries to guess. "May be."

One slice of pizza was finished so my stomach no longer struggled. Entering the room, I put my sling bag in its usual place, then removed the make-up that I had previously applied to my face.

Now I was wearing a white nightgown, I took a knee-length long-sleeved robe, tied the strap at my stomach and went out.

At the same time I also heard the sound of the door being locked. I'm sure it must be Amelie.

"You just got home, Amelie? Did you work overtime today?"

She nodded her head weakly. "Yes." It seems like today is very tiring for youfor her.

"You seem very tired. I bought pizza on the way home, eat it."

"Aren't you working the morning shift today?"

I nodded without looking at her. "I went out to the bar earlier, then came home to buy pizza." There is no other reason in my head that forces me to say the truth.

"Why are you going to the bar? You don't usually go there."

"Just want to." I hope she won't ask too many more questions.

She sat down in front of me, took a slice of pizza without washing her hands first and ate it greedily.

Silently, I watched her. She looked very hungry. If she meet someone, surely they will be offered food, right? Or did it turn out that the man was stingy and only invited Amelie to meet to chat without buying her food or drink? Who knows.

â€œWho did you … meet at the bar?"

I had expected her to be suspicious. "Friend." My answer is short.

I never lie, what I say is true. At the bar I met Levin even though we didn't plan that beforehand.

The image of our meeting tonight comes back to my head. "He's been a special friend since we were in the same high school. Ah ... if only time could be turned back."
