Amelie's POV.
The bright blue sky can be seen from inside my work room. I've finished all the work today and in five minutes it will be time to go home.
I've made plans about what I'm going to do when I get home. Of course, I will immediately clean myself, prepare snacks and start watching my favorite drama that I haven't finished watching since yesterday.
"Are you finished with your work?"
I nodded, then smiled proudly.
Meanwhile, at the next work desk, Chasne was still busy with work that had not been completely finished. Her ten fingers danced on the keyboard with her bright brown eyes focused on the monitor screen.
Several times she looked at the clock on the wall to make sure it wasn't time to leave work yet. It was clear that she was in a hurry, she didn't want to leave any work to be done tomorrow or maybe today was the deadline.
"Huh, finally." She said as she lifted both hands from the object containing letters and numbers.
"You managed to finish it?" I asked, taking the smartphone and putting it in my hand bag.
Chasne smiled, she nodded. "Of course." Pens, smartphones and small notebooks on the table were put into the bag. "I'm going home first, Amelie. See you tomorrow."
"Surely she will meet her mate." I whispered, shaking my head.
As soon as my mouth said mate, I suddenly remembered my adopted sister's boyfriend. Alpha Rexton, he is my mate. Ah, no way, this can't be happening. If I meet him later, I will ask him to reject me as his mate because I'm not his true Luna.
Matilda is far more entitled to Alpha Rexton than I am. The woman was firm, critical, clever and very worthy of being Luna. This is in direct contrast to me, who is easily provoked, trusting and a little stupid.
Everything was in my bag, I got into the elevator together with the other workers to go down and go home. Not having Chasne next to me meant I had to walk alone, even so I was quite used to this.
"Amelie."
I turned around for a moment after hearing someone call my name. Not far behind, I saw Gwendolyn approaching me.
"Gwen, what are you doing here?"
"I came here on purpose to give you this." She said, handing me something.
"What's this?" I asked as I opened the paper package.
"My birthday invitation."
"You should just give an invitation via group messaging, it doesn't need to be like this."
"Ah, I want this invitation to seem more special because I gave it to you directly." She explained. "You have to come, Chasne and Hailey will definitely come too. I will wait for you later." She smiled. "Sorry I couldn't take too long, I have to give some of these invitations to my other friends too. Bye, Amelie."
My right hand rose, then waved in the direction Gwendolyn had gone. I put the birthday invitation in my bag, maybe I'll open it later when I'm at home.
As I continued my steps and went out, I smelled a strange aroma. A vanilla fragrance combined with a strong woody smell. Usually a wolfgirl will smell this if she is close to her mate.
"Is Alpha Rexton around here?" I looked around, but couldn't find him. "Don't let me meet him, I'm not ready for that." I quickened my pace.
As time went on the aroma became clearer, I didn't dare look anywhere anymore. Right now all I do is keep walking and speed up my steps to get away from him.
Suddenly someone grabbed my hand, his steps were faster than mine. He took me into a narrow, quiet alley.
Now in front of me is a mysterious man. He wore a black hat and mask. I couldn't recognize his face. But he let go of the two objects so that now it was clear who was in front of me.
"A--Alpha Rexton," I whispered. "How did he know I worked here?" I think.
He smiled when I said his name. A handsome face that really seduces all women, but this time I promised myself not to be tempted at all by him.
"You still recognize me, Mrs. Pinky?"
I was silent for a few moments. Looking at the jacket I was wearing, I was wearing pink clothes again. Maybe that is the right call for me.
The incident that happened a week ago came back to my mind. How disgusting it was for me to tempt him into wanting to have sex with me. Ah, I really regret that. Again, why don't I just choose the truth? I'm stupid!
His hand grabbed my chin, directing me to look up slightly to look into the pair of beautiful eyes in front of me. A pair of eyes that managed to hypnotize for the second time. I couldn't do anything, just stand still and accept him as he started to connect his lips with mine.
"Please, no. Don't do this, Alpha Rexton!" I begged when his lips parted.
He stared at me for a few moments, while I chose to lower my head. For a few moments, he didn't say or do anything. I felt curious then raised my head slightly to see the expression on his face.
But it seems like this is the moment he was waiting for. Before I had time to lower my head again to avoid it, his lips started to merge with mine again. His kisses were getting fiercer, we were both getting hotter. Even though I said no, I actually didn't want to stop this either.
"Let me do it or I'll tell everyone if you're my mate."
"No, please, Alpha Rexton. Please let me go, just reject me as your mate. Please."
The sadness, disappointment and hurt experienced by Matilda are feelings that I will feel too. If Matilda is happy, then I will feel the same way. That's why I don't want to make her sad, disappointed and even hurt. I don't want any of that to happen.

"Has the event started yet?"
"In one minute it will start. Please, come in."
I can breathe a sigh of relief this time. Entering the hall I saw a very amazing decoration. Balloons, streamers and lights create a cozy atmosphere.
"Amelie, you finally came."
Gwendolyn, Chasne and Hailey were already behind when I turned around. I smile. "Sorry, I'm late."
"It doesn't matter, the most important thing is that you came."
"Hey, look over there, he looks familiar. Do you guys feel the same way like me?"
Amelie's POV. I try to stay away from him. While he was at the left end of the table, I was at the right end of the center almost to the back. Every now and then I would steal glances at him, not because I was tempted by his good looks but I didn't want him to know that I was here. "Why is he here too, Gwen?" I asked, then took a sip of strawberry juice. "The guests who came were not only my friends, Amelie, but also my parents' business partners." "Wow, your parents' relationship is no joke." Chasne praised. "But I'm a bit lazy, from my father's relationship with them, he forced me to marry a man named Luke. One thing I know is that he is a Beta." "Good offer! If I were you, perhaps I would agree with father's choice." Hailey also spoke. "Unfortunately I can't be like you, Hailey." Gwendolyn took a piece of cake and took a bite. "There's no way I can leave my boyfriend who has accompanied me for five years, even if I meet my mate." I was silent when I heard the words Gwendo
Amelie's POV. All the guests who came enjoyed their time while chatting with people they knew. Several others seemed to enjoy the food and drinks provided. Time doesn't seem to pass quickly and now it's ten o'clock in the evening. Even so, the birthday party wasn't over yet and according to Gwendolyn the birthday party would last until late at night. Gwendolyn sat down next to Chasne, she took a piece of biscuit and ate it. "What's the big problem?" Hailey asked while taking the orange juice on the table. While I was just silent, even before Gwendolyn said that I was already in a big trouble. "That guy at the front end, isn't he the guy we saw at the bar?" Gwendolyn moved her chin to point in the direction she meant. "That's right, I still recognize him very well." Chasne nodded confidently. "I just found out from my father earlier that he is the Alpha of the Yellow Moon Pack." "W--what?!" Chasne and Hailey said almost at the same time. "I already know." I said, trying to
Rexton's POV. Getting out of the black car I was driving, I first opened the car door for Matilda. She looks elegant in a white dress that fits her body perfectly. Matilda put her arm around my left arm, we both walked into a magnificent building. This hall has been decorated very beautifully, lots of balloons, ribbons and other wall decorations, all of which are black and white, just like the dress code that the guests have to wear tonight. "Good afternoon, Alpha Rexton." Someone approached me, I didn't know who is him. The man in a black suit and tie directed Matilda and me to a table at the very front on the far right. There were only two chairs there and it seemed like the table had been prepared for the two of us. "Thank you, Sir." Matilda said kindly. Not long after we both sat down, I saw three people approaching. They consist of one man and two women, I know the man, he is Mr. Jeremy, the father of his daughter's birthday today. The three of them smiled at me and Matil
Rexton's POV. The sound of footsteps could be heard passing through the hallway. In a dark room, Amelie and I stood face to face at a very close distance. I had composed a sentence in my brain, but I could only exhale heavily when I was about to say it. I can't say that, I can't imagine how sad the two wolves are inside each of us. I don't want to hurt her at all. I felt her breath hit my face, maybe vice versa. One thing I hope for, is that someone out there doesn't come into the room that I don't even know what room it is. The sound was getting closer. "Rexton ... where are you?" She looked for me, and it was Matilda's voice. I can recognize it well. "Hhmmpp--" Amelie almost made a sound, but I immediately covered her mouth. "Do you want her to know that we are mates?" Amelie answered by shaking her head, I could see it in the dark even though it was a little faint. "If it's like that, then shut up." The sound of footsteps drifted away. It seems Matilda has already passed
Amelie's POV. Gwendolyn's birthday party was exhausting. Luckily after successfully escaping from Alpha Rexton, he never approached me again. After returning home from the party I immediately fell asleep until the afternoon. I woke up hungry and found Matilda in the dining room who had just woken up from sleep. "It turns out you know Mr. Jeremy?" I frowned, then shook my head. "No." "Didn't you come to her daughter's party last night?" "Oh." I just realized something. "Gwendolyn is my college friend." "Didn't you see I was at the party last night too?" I frowned again, pretending not to understand. "Did you come there too, Matilda?" "Hu-um, I came with Rexton. I sat in the front seat at the very end on the right. You really didn't see me?" "Oh my, I didn't know you were there." "You stupid little sister!" I chuckled at her curse. My hands were busy opening sardines and heating them first before eating. "If I knew you were coming too, maybe I would have asked you to leave
Amelie's POV. "Hey, get up, your leg is blocking the road. This bus passenger is having difficulty walking because of your right leg." I was surprised to hear an old woman's voice as well as clapping her hand on my arm. Both of my eyes opened perfectly immediately. An old woman in a cream-colored knitted cardigan stood in front of me. Her brown eyes stared intently at me. Judging from the expression on her face, she seemed to be waiting for my answer. "Wh--why am I on the bus?" I looked around, making sure I was in a moving vehicle. "Aw, young people nowadays get drunk on the bus." She then continued walking. My eyes looked in the direction the old woman had gone. Her hair had turned white, only a few strands remained black. In her hand was a medium-sized brown hand bag. She walked all the way to the front, then sat in the second seat behind the driver. I looked outside, my eyes suddenly opened wider than usual. This road is too far, I have missed stop number four where I was
Amelie's POV. I took a slice of the pizza on the table, then fed it into my mouth without washing my hands first. Disgusting, that's what, but I don't care how many germs enter my body. The taste of this pizza remains the same, delicious, very delicious. Matilda never makes a mistake when buying food. All the food she bought always tasted delicious. "Friend." She answered simply. I was silent, in my heart I didn't believe her words. Even so, I still nodded my head pretending to believe her words. The smartphone in my sling bag rang, I could hear it even though the sound was soft. Likewise with Matilda, she turned her head slightly towards me, looking out of the corner of her eye. I got up from the chair. "I'm tired, I want to rest." "Clean yourself first, then rest." I just responded with a nod of my head. This not so neat room was still dark, I turned on the light so I could see around. Blankets that haven't been folded anymore, pillows that aren't in their place and bed s
Matilda's POV. Gwendolyn's birthday party last night was so tiring that I fell asleep for a long time. Leaving the room, I still haven't seen Amelie, maybe she's still asleep. I took the little remaining chicken soup. Glancing at Amelie's bedroom door, I didn't intend to finish it. It's just that after that I saw several cans of sardines in the cupboard. "She can eat sardines later." I said, then reheated the cold chicken soup. While I was eating dinner, I heard the sound of the bedroom door opening. My guess was right, the lazy Amelie had woken up from her sleep. She sat next to me, put her smartphone on the table and we chatted for a while before she finally went to heat the sardines. Her smartphone lit up with an incoming message. I can't see who sent the message. "There's a message on your smartphone, Amelie." "Just leave it, I'll be done in a minute." The smartphone screen turned off again and I went back to enjoying the chicken soup that I had left. Amelie sat back dow
