The world held its breath.

Sera stood upon the broken earth, fire trailing like a living crown. Her chains had fallen, scattered to ash at her feet. Every breath she drew set the sky aflame, every blink fractured the suffocating shadow the Ancient had spread.

Adrien collapsed to one knee, the backlash of her awakening overwhelming him. Yet even through the haze of pain, he looked at her, and for the first time since this nightmare began, his heart surged with something fierce and unrelenting. Hope.

The Ancient staggered back, its form rippling as if it were no longer certain of its shape. The mask of flame cracked wider, eyes of void narrowing upon her. You dare.

Sera raised her head. The fire in her eyes was not the Ancient’s borrowed light, it was her own, raw, searing, undeniable. Her voice was low but carried like thunder.

“I am not yours.”

The ground quaked. The wasteland around them trembled as though even the world itself had waited centuries to hear her declare it.

For a moment, the world was silent. Adrien stood at the center of the ruin, his body nothing but flame and shadow, his form rippling as though his very skin could no longer hold the power within. His eyes, violet, bottomless, locked on Sera with such force it felt as though the breath had been stolen from her chest. Her heart thundered. She took a shaky step toward him, ignoring the blood running from her side.“Adrien… it’s me,” she whispered, as though saying his name alone could anchor him.But there was no flicker of recognition. The man she knew, his smile, his stubbornness, his reckless loyalty, all of it seemed drowned in the cursed blaze. The heat rolling off him was unbearable. Rock cracked and melted under his feet as he moved closer. His hand lifted, fingers tipped in raw flame. Not as a lover’s caress. As a weapon.“Adrien, stop!” Sera cried, tears cutting through the soot on her face. “It’s me. Don’t let it take you.”The cursed voice that left his mouth was not his own.

The world had no sound. For a long moment after the explosion, there was only white light and silence, as though the cavern, the fire, the storm, all of existence, had been erased. Then came the roar.Stone screamed as it fractured. Fire surged upward from the rift like a living thing. The ground buckled and split apart, swallowing pillars and walls in a chaos of molten collapse.Sera’s body was flung through the air like a leaf in a hurricane. She hit the ground hard, her shoulder tearing open on jagged rock. The pain barely registered. She forced herself up, coughing blood, eyes searching desperately through the choking haze.“Adrien!”Her voice cracked. The smoke swallowed it, mocking her desperation. She stumbled forward, flames licking around her hands for light. A silhouette emerged through the dust. Her chest lurched with hope, until the wings unfurled. Azeron. He stepped from the ruin, his armor cracked but still gleaming, storm-light burning in the fissures. His face was cut,

Adrien’s grip on the storm-spear crackled with impossible light. The violet curse in his veins writhed violently, colliding with the raw lightning Azeron had unleashed. For a heartbeat, the clash illuminated the cavern brighter than the sun, shadows fleeing across the walls.Sera shielded her eyes, her body trembling. She had dreamed of this moment, of Adrien breaking through the rift. But not like this, not with his body breaking under the curse, not with Azeron smiling like the world itself had bent to his will.Adrien forced the storm-spear aside. The weapon exploded against the cavern wall, shattering stone, showering molten fragments across the ground. The blast left his arm smoldering, skin blackened where curse and lightning had met. Still, he stood.“Pathetic,” Azeron murmured, his wings unfurling with a thunderous gust. “You crawl from the void half-dead, cursed and weak. And yet you think you can stand between me and her?”Adrien’s chest heaved, but his smile was jagged, fer

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 193 - inhuman

The world convulsed as Azeron rose. The cavern, once a prison of stone and chains, shuddered like a living beast. Cracks split the walls, bleeding violet fire. The air thickened with the stench of burning ozone and ancient decay.Sera’s body slammed against the ground, ribs fracturing beneath the shockwave. She forced herself up through blood and dust, eyes locked on the figure looming above her.Azeron was no longer shadow. No longer whispers bound to stone. He stood in flesh and stormfire. His form was monstrous and yet sickeningly beautiful, an armored frame of obsidian veined with light, wings of stormclouds unfurling from his back. His face bore echoes of Adrien’s features twisted into something crueler, sharper, inhuman.“You broke the last chain,” Azeron said, voice smooth now, almost gentle. “You opened the door. You chose love… and in doing so, freed me.”Sera’s throat tightened, rage burning hotter than her fear.“You’ll regret underestimating me.”Her flames erupted, wrappi

The spear of stormfire ripped through the air like a comet, its trail illuminating the rift with blinding silver-blue light.“Adrien!”Sera lunged forward, her body reacting before her mind could catch up. Her flames erupted in a wall of incandescent gold, colliding with the spear mid-flight. The chamber shook with the force of the explosion. Light swallowed everything. The sound, an ear-splitting crack, made the world tilt sideways. Sera was thrown to her knees, coughing blood as molten dust fell around her. When the brilliance dimmed, she looked up, and her heart stilled. The spear hadn’t stopped, Her fire had slowed it, diverted it, but not destroyed it, It pierced through the last threads of resistance and plunged straight into Adrien’s chest. His body convulsed, back arching in silent agony. The violet cocoon flared, then split open with a shriek that sounded like a thousand souls being torn in half.“No!” Sera’s scream shredded her throat. She sprinted toward the widening rift,

The chamber trembled with every breath Azeron took. Sera pressed her palm against the fractured floor, forcing herself upright though every nerve screamed. Her body was weak, her chest still raw from the blow, but she refused to bow to him.“You’ll never touch him,” she rasped.Azeron extended his freed arms, flexing his hands as if savoring each tendon, each joint. Sparks of stormfire fell from his fingertips and burned holes into the ground.“Do you even understand the Between?” he asked, voice rolling like thunder. “It is hunger made flesh. It devours without pause. Your Adrien is nothing but marrow to it. Without me, he is already ash.”Sera’s flames flared, thin but sharp. “Then I’ll burn the Between itself.”Azeron laughed, the sound echoing like a thousand blades clashing. He stepped forward and the last two chains groaned, straining against his strength.“You remind me of myself before I learned the truth,” he said. “Do you know how long I fought against what I was? Shackled,
